Our recent visit to Lorne was made even more special by our stay in the California Room at this amazing motel. The room was simply perfect, offering a huge terrace with stunning views of the bay. Waking up to the sea breeze and enjoying evenings on the terrace were absolute highlights of our trip. The room itself was impeccably clean and well-equipped with all the amenities we needed. From the cozy bed to the thoughtful touches, everything was top-notch. The location of the motel couldn’t have been better – it’s right in the heart of Lorne! Restaurants, cafes, and even the drugstore were just a short walk away, making everything so convenient. The combination of the breathtaking sea view, the fantastic location, and the comfortable stay made our experience unforgettable. I can confidently say this is the best spot in Lorne! I’d highly recommend this to anyone visiting the area, but please note that this review is specifically for the California Room. It has become my go-to choice every time I plan a trip to Lorne. Beautiful location, everything within walking distance. Had a great time with my boys cruising with the Kombi's down to Apollo Bay. Also, I would like to make a special mention to Mel. She went above and beyond to make sure we had the correct directions and information to check in properly. In all the excitement of my first classic VW event, I left my laptop behind. As soon as it was discovered, Mel contacted me immediately to make sure it was returned to me promptly. Thanks so much, Mel, for contributing to an already fantastic weekend.

We booked the Malibu studio, which my wife absolutely loved. It was very comfortable and convenient - we could park our car right in front of the unit and cook meals in the kitchenette. The studio also offered a great selection of DVDs, allowing our son to enjoy his favorite movie during our stay. Upon checking out, we accidentally left our Dyson hair dryer in the room. We reached out to the hotel through Booking.com, and Melissa was incredibly helpful in arranging to ship the hair dryer to our friends' address. It was an excellent experience. We will consider choosing this hotel again when we next visit Lorne.

The Malibu studio is located at 3 Bay Street. There is an entrance behind Lorne Bay View Hotel, and it requires some patience to find this location.

We loved the location! It was right next to the Lorne Hotel, at the start of the shopping strip and very close to the beach! It was very clean and comfortable with carparking just outside!. Was beautifully presented with very clear instructions on how to get there and to get inside the unit. The host was absolutely terrific! Looking forward to staying there again soon!

For a weekend getaway, there was very little wrong with the place! As we are retired folk, walking up the hill from the shops did pose a minor challenge, On the other hand it was great exercise! With a car, it was not a problem! As I had an electric car, and with only one charger in town, that was out of order, it would have been nice to have had say a shared 15A powerpoint near the cars - suggestion only!

Comfortable and well equipped, in a good location close to the main drag. Easy check in and departure process. They were great; we accidentally left behind one of my son’s toys, tangled up in the bedding, and they sent it back to us so we didn’t have to deal with utter devastation. We only stayed one night as it was part of a longer road trip but would happily have stayed there for several. Kitchenette was well equipped. TBH I thought I would find the wallpapers a bit weird but it was utterly relaxing in person.

Location great walking distance to cafes, pub, beach. Short drive to other attractions, we had Maldives apartment with balcony. great views, well appointed very clean spacious room, comfortable bed, kitchenette. Bathroom had a corner spa Mel was great to communicate with. Free parking.

maybe a few less cushions didn't know what to do with them all. Would have preferred table and chairs instead of two daybeds as didn't really have anywhere else to sit apart from outside which was fine as weather was good

Amazing location, very comfortable & cosy room. The room location was perfect for the reasons we were down there - easy access to the beach, surf club, pub, street & friends house.

Add free wifi - perhaps look into a deal with the Bayview hotel where the rooms you own can tap into the wifi of the hotel for an additional fee. There wasn't any body wash for the shower, only shampoo & conditioner

room was more than enough for two people, king size bed very comfortable, location excellent. Even though the pub was next door there was no noise and no disruptions to our sleep. We had a couple of minor issues, but Mel was very quick to attend to them without hesitation. Overall, an enjoyable stay, would definitely recommend this property.

Beautifully styled room. Very clean. The most amazingly comfortable bed. Great range of dvds available for anyone not wanting to watch tv Coffee pod machine available. Easy contactless check in with great instructions/information provided.

Before we arrived we were greeted with the most beautiful message from Melissa explaining everything we needed to know about our stay. When we arrived we found the place very clean, spacious and comfortable in a great location. Melissa’s amazing customer service was a highlight, making us feel tight at home accommodating our every need. Thoroughly recommend staying here.
