We had a truly wonderful stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed—the friendly staff even greeted us with a glass of prosecco, which was a lovely touch. The food was absolutely exquisite. Both breakfast and dinner were of extremely high quality, with rich and varied options that delighted us every day. Every meal felt like a special experience. The wellness area was another highlight. We loved spending time at the pool and sauna, and the beautifully maintained garden offered a peaceful retreat to relax and unwind. Our room was spacious, tastefully furnished, and very comfortable. We slept exceptionally well throughout our stay, which made a big difference. Overall, this hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. We would gladly return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and high-quality getaway.

It was a bit noisy because of the construction that was being built in front of the hotel.

Everything was exceptional, the welcome drink, rich breakfast, impressive welness area - however what deserves the most praise was the staff, whose hospitability was on whole another level compared to other hotels I've been to recently. As mentioned by others, AC would be a nice improvement in the rooms as they do turn a little hot during the day. It was however manageable with the windows during the night and therefore it wasn't rellay an issue big enough to outshine all the glaring positives of the establishment. I was extremely impressed and will be happy to return for my next stay in Abtenau. Thank you!

Perfect location, awesome view from the window to mountains, good breakfast, SPA was unexpectedly varied (really a lot of different saunas, some of them very spectacular). Very willing to help staff on reception, they can give recommendation where to go + we were upgraded to better room on arrival.

It was cold in the room, they enable the heating system at night but it is not enough, but you can ask on reception for additional heating equipment. And it was a construction going on outside, so it was not so quiet as we expected. One door for two room is strange solution: you can lock yourself either in the bathroom or in the toilet.

Good place to be. Excellent breakfast, good quality of meals in general. Quiet. Clean. Good and attentive service by all staff members. Nice wellness facilities. Lovely balcony. We have enjoyed our stay very much.

We had an upgrade of room (nice!). But: the room was a little bit old-fashioned. Bad mattress (with a hole in the middle), little fridge not working well, broken hairdryer in bathroom. We missed coffee/tea-making facilities in the room, which would suit very well in a hotel of this level.

We LOVED this hotel. The staff were amazing and really looked after you here, the couple that run the hotel are also heavily involved and it was nice to hear about their story. When we arrived they had upgraded us to their traditional Austrian room with mountain view for no extra cost, you have prosecco on arrival and get a bundt cake in your room. The food was brilliant - best hotel I've been to for food. It's nice to have the buffet for breakfast and a 6 course meal in the evenings (food choices changed every night so this was varied and you were never eating the same thing). The afternoon snack consisted of soup and a sweet treat so for us this was enough to call lunch. The only things not included in your stay are the drinks. All staff were amazing at English, apart from a few. In particular, Layla was amazing! Spa was lovely, however, it did confuse us the first day as certain steam rooms or baths have to be turned on by a button in order to use it. We eventually figured it out but on our first day we thought things didn't work! Once you have the hang of it, it made sense and was easy. The location was gorgeous and I loved exploring Abtenau. We went on a couple of local hikes, one big and one small. The views were incredible! The town was quite quiet, but we did go in Oct out of season so this is to be expected. I'd also say be prepared to take cash euros, as the majority of places only take cash out here. The hotel also provided a travel card which gave us free travel on the 470/471 bus which went in and out of Abtenau and also gave us free travel on the S3 train, this means you can get in and out of Salzburg for free, so we did two day trips there during our stay. The hotel owner informed us that they didn't get guests from the UK very often, but I highly recommend this hotel and my partner and I have already said we'd definitely return! Already recommended it to friends and family.

My partner and I would have loved a more equipped gym, as we are regular gym users. The gym is very small here with limited equipment, so if that is a priority for you then it might not be suitable. Despite this though, we still said we would return to this hotel because it's so amazing in every other way!

Breakfast and dinner were exceptional! Congrats to the chef! The mountain view from the room and the garden was astonishing, watching sun rise and sun set was breathtaking. The location is great and strategic, with easy access to Salzburg, Hallstadt, Mondsee, Attersee, St.Wolfgangsee and other. Hotel is situated in the center of Abtenau, close to a pharmacy, Spar and main square with bars where concerts are often taking place. Everyone was very kind and welcoming at the hotel, we cannot wait to return! Highly recommended!

The dinner time is 6-8pm, it would be better to last till 9pm due to trips around, but it is just a suggestion, and we were happy to return earlier in order not to miss amazing dinner :)

We had a truly wonderful stay at this hotel! The SPA was absolutely fantastic – beautifully designed, relaxing, and well-maintained. The staff were exceptionally kind and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the very beginning. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the food was incredibly delicious. From start to finish, everything was on the highest level. We enjoyed every moment and would love to come back again.

Room was spotless, Staff was super friendly. We enjoyed the free train pass to Salzburg to explore the city. My husband enjoyed the sauna and the swimming pool.

Our room did not have an iron or a kettle to make tea. It was not updated at all. Also, we missed the cooking of the German chef and the care from his wife Monika who worked in the dining room. Nobody could create such perfectly prepared fish as he could.

Good location, close to Hallstatt and Salzburg, wonderful indoor pool and spa facilities (open only until 7pm which was a bit of a disappointment). The breakfast was exceptional, deli meats, cheeses, eggs, meatloafs, smoked salmon, spreads, cereals, yogurts, jams, honey (6 types!), pastries. Gorgeous view from our room!

No air conditioning, which usually should not be a problem, given the location. The few days we spent there were hot, but we kept the windows open overnight and it was fine.

The people in reception were fantastic. Always ready with help, a smile and a happy mood. The food was really nice. We enjoyed the stay, and we would come back. Most of the personal were great.

The room was a bit dated. Having a toilet with no sink (had to go into bathroom for that). One of the waiters (older guy) just seemed like we were a burden, and he didn't provide a service that gave a good experience.
