Location was just around the corner from bus stop. Bus brings you to Hallstatt and five fingers. We loved the quietness of Obertraun to retreat to in the evenings. Pizza restaurant next door. 2 balconies in our apartment. . Beds were very comfy. Good shower. We travelled to Obertraun from Vienna by train, and the apartment is a 5 minute walk from train station.

Kitchenette was on the small side if you plan on cooking for a family of 4. Obertraun is very expensive, so if you have a budget to stick to like we did, this apartment was very fairly priced for its location and standard. Staff are doing a great job. Ty.

Loved the location and the view. The town was nice and quiet so it was great for a good sleep. New windows which reduced noise from the train. Lovely balcony. Great water pressure in the shower though it drained slowly. Nice blankets, pillow was ok. I would stay here again.

The balcony was shared with 2 other rooms which greatly reduced the privacy of your room. You don't know who is going to look in your window or come into your room. The stairwell was -very dark-. I ultimately found light switches for each floor but before that it didn't feel safe at all. The website said no pets were allowed but there were two dogs running loose on my floor while I was there. Quite surprised to be confronted by them when exiting my room. Also, people have allergies, just be clear if it's pet friendly.

The property is very close to the lake and the small jetty. It’s five min walk from the railway station. Overall it was clean with good beds and a small kitchen with enough crockery/cutlery. There’s a stove and utensils to cook and a small fridge and microwave. It was by the train track but we were never bothered by it. They did allow us a bit early check in which was a great relief as my kids were real tired after a long journey. Bathroom was clean and functional.

As many others pointed out, the walls are a bit thin. Even our own beds and sofa bed were squeaky. No chimney/exhaust in kitchen. No lift.

The rooms are spacious with acceptable beds. There are balconies where you can dry clothes. The kitchen has all the necessary dishes for cooking. Everything you need is nearby, including a lake and a park.

The showerheads and holders need to be replaced. Add towel hooks in the bathrooms and soap shelves in the shower cabins. We had to put many things on the floor. There was only one roll of toilet paper, so we had to buy more ourselves. The reception was available for limited hours. In the kitchen, there was only a sponge and a regular cotton hand towel; a cloth for wiping tables was missing. Overall, more thorough cleaning is needed because there were spider webs in some places. There are no power outlets near the beds.

Wonderful apartment with lovely view of the lake. The apartment was 5 minute walk to train station and ferry port, as well as 15 minutes to the only grocery store in town. The showers were hot and the beds were comfortable. The wifi worked great. We had one family with two kids in the room with sofa bed and another couple in the other bedroom. This was a good accommodation for our stay in Obertraun with stunning mountain views out every window.

Overall, great stay. The bedrooms had windows that open, but the living room/kitchen window did not open. It was very difficult to cool this area, especially when cooking. It would have been very uncomfortable to sleep on the sofa bed in the living room, because this space was so warm. (Luckily that was not necessary for our group). Also, take note: there is only one grocery in town and it is very pricey. If you can, bring your own groceries.

Most convient self check-in. I chosed Obernaun over Halstatt "city". There is a bus 100m from the hotel straight to Hallstatt. The busstation is also the busstation for the lift to the saltmine. I came by train to Obernaun. From the station you can see the hotel...just follow the path paralle to the train rails. The best pitza..huge and beer at the restaurant 20 meters from the hotel. Nice warm fast meal after a day in Hallstatt. I took the boat once from Hallstatt to Obernaun...And back to Hallstatt. I did not know where I was. And a dayticket Obernbaun to Hallstatt Dec 2024 is 5.20€. Lovede the snow landscabe next to the saltmine And the skywalk ..view from above over Hallstatt and the lake. Had a warm meal at the restaurant next to the skywalk. Lovede the Christmas market (.it is not every day need to check what days)at Hallstatt Live concert from a balcon. I will come back and do the same things. And stay at the same hotel. With a good breakfast. Plan your breakfast with the departure of the bus to Hallstatt.

Place was clean and well maintained. Ideal for staying for one night before going ski-touring to the mountains. As we were 7 people and three needed to sleep on a sofabed, bed we were originally worried about their comfort, but everybody was fine in the morning.

There was just super minor miscommunication, that check out is between 8am and 10am, although it was written on the booking.com, that it is between 6am and 10am. As we needed to leave at 7am we wrote to the property and agreed to leave the keys and local tax in the room, which worked without any issue.

Plus point to stay in Obertraun is that it is just across the lake from Halstatt village. This property is just 2-5 minutes walk to the Obertraun lake which is stunningly beautiful with all the mountains and garden area on the lake shore. You can take a 2 way boat ride from here to Halstatt with just 16 Euro. You go to Halstatt in the morning and return with the same boat in the evening which is best deal. You can save some bucks by staying in Obertraun instead of Halstatt.

The hotel is located in a very nice area—calm and beautiful. There is a boat available for trips to the scenic Hallstatt. The establishment is a typical alpine guest house. The room was spacious, and the balcony offered an incredible view of the mountains. While the bed and other facilities are not brand new, they are satisfactory. The breakfast was quite good. The staff were very nice and helpful, and there was clear information provided in the messages about how to do self-check-in.

I intentionally picked this spot because it was close to Hallstatt without paying a premium. The village is quaint, the view overlooking the mountains was such a treat, I really enjoyed myself. There's a great pizza restaurant next door with some quirky and delicious toppings.

Couldn't find any mention about the parking in the area costing €22 a day! It's also exclusively paid for through an app which is a bit clunky. However parking was super close to the accommodation so was really convenient. There was no shampoo, conditioner or body soap in the bathroom so make sure you bring your own or buy some in the shop nearby.
