Amazing view, lovely room, gorgeous breakfast!

The only thing that wasn’t great was the air conditioning. But we were there during a significant heatwave so it had a hard job to do!

Our stay at this B&B was nothing short of extraordinary. The breathtaking view of the lake from our bed was simply mesmerizing. The exquisite breakfast provided to us in our room, while we observed the serene water and swans, was truly captivating. We parked our car at P1 and took the shuttle which dropped us off right at the front door. On our departure day, although the shuttle service was unavailable that day, we found a nearby bus area only a short walk away. We approached the parking attendant to ask if we could briefly bring our car in to load our luggage, and to our relief, he graciously permitted us to do so. This level of service truly added to the warmth of our experience.

This property is nestled on the Hallstätter See lake and consists of no more than a handful of rooms. We received an email with the exterior and room door lock codes, so checkin is designed to be self service. The code did not work when we arrived, but within minutes of calling the B&B phone, a staff member met us at the door, gave us a working code and from there we entered a spacious room with nice sized bathroom and shower big enough to bend down to pick up a dropped bar of soap. (It dawns on me why liquid pump soap is so often found in tiny European showers). Best feature- the million dollar view of the lake and mountains in the distance. The windows opened widely to allow cool night air for excellent sleeping. The round platform bed and custom round mattress was odd and a bit of a challenge for us to enter and exit. Breakfast was delightful and served at the exact times we requested by a charming young fellow. This property would suit travelers who don’t rely upon innkeepers for essential travel information.

The round platform bed looked cool, but was tricky for older ones to get into and out of. We couldn’t figure out how to program the room safe - and neither could the property manager. The towel warmer turns on and off by touching a mysterious spot on a lower pipe, and we only found that out the moment we checked out. A sheet of computer-generated paper with some our demographic data was sitting on the desk, in German. No instructions for what we were to do with it, but we later found out it was to be signed. So maybe a brief instruction sheet would allay confusion in the future about how one is supposed to check out.

The hotel is located right on the lake, offering a breathtaking view of the mountains reflected in the water with swans gliding by—a truly unique experience to wake up to. The breakfast delivered to the room is fantastic, and the hotel staff is very attentive to requests. The room is stylish and comfortable, and the central location in Hallstatt is ideal.

In hindsight, Hallstatt feels overrated. The town is very pricey, lacks parking, and everything closes quite early. Staying in a nearby town would have been more practical and affordable, with equally beautiful scenery and convenient access to sites like the salt mine.

Loved everything about our stay in Polreich. We chose this hotel because of the high rating and good review from their previous guests. The location of the hotel is very strategic as it was just a short walk (less than 500m) from P2 car park, salt mine station and the centre of town. On the day of our arrival, both P1 and P2 car park were full and we felt so lucky to have chosen this hotel as we managed to find a spot to drop the elderly ( next to the hypermarket) and unloaded our luggage before walking to the hotel which was just about 200m away. Although we had to park our car at P4 and walked 2km to the hotel but Phillip (the host) was so kind to have sent us back to our car after we checked out. The breakfast prepared by Phillip was very well plated and the omelette is amazing! We get to have breakfast with swans just outside of the window too. Coffee from the cafe was ordinary but perhaps due to our strong taste and high expectation on coffee. The rooms (we booked all the 3 rooms for our whole family) are very beautiful, comfortable, sparkling clean, well equipped and with fantastic views of the lake and church of Hallstatt. The host is sincere and put in a lot of effort in welcoming his guest. We will definitely go back to this hotel if we have the chance in the future. Will sure recommend this hotel to our friends and relatives too. Try to book early to have no regrets!

Couldn’t have been happier with our stay at Polreich for my 30th Birthday. We chose to stay here for the view and ended up really impressed with every element. Communication pre and during our stay was consistent. We had an extra request which was happily catered to. Check in was very smooth and secure! Super modern keypad and cards to let us into a main hallway and then our room. The room was incredibly clean and feels modern and cosy. The view of course was exceptional, we feel really lucky to have been able to stay here (photos attached is the view from Polreich). A bonus was our breakfast every day. The staff were super kind when delivering it to us and cooked us eggs!

We heard a few loud noises above us during the day.

The photos on the booking.com page (14.08.2022) are not up-to-date. Now, on each of the two windows of the three rooms, there are five inox metal flat bars, blocking the view to the lake, probably to prevent the guests from falling out of the window (see attached photo). In front of the house on the lake ground were trashed householdarticles (2m charcoal barbecue, barbecue tongs, and even old food from the last barbecue). This spoiled for me the great lake scenery. I communicated this to the management, but unfortunately, I did not get any feedback. This trash should be removed properly.

I booked Double Room with Lake View. The room was modern, very clean, bright, and spacious for 2 people. It looks exactly like the photos. Breakfast was served in the room and it was plentiful, with eggs made in whatever style chosen. The round bed feels small but it was not a problem for us. The huge windows with a clear view of the lake was nice to wake up to. There is no lobby and the door to building is kept locked, but we knocked on the door and someone assisted us right away.

The air conditioning worked but the room got quite warm from the sun coming through the windows, even with the air conditioning on. A fan in the room would be nice.

Wow! We walked in and were blown away by the view, as the room feels like it is jettisoned out over the lake. I opened the windows immediately and sat on the window seat, struggling to want to leave to explore the town because it was so beautiful. The round bed was incredibly comfortable and the shower was the best one we have had in Europe. The morning’s breakfast, served at a table overlooking the lake in our room, was unbelievably good and so special. The home is inside the pedestrian zone and a perfect, very close location to enjoy this lovely town. They were also willing to keep our bags both before and after checkout.

It was perfect.
