We really liked the hotel. The city is fantastic. The beds are comfortable. The toilet was shared but always empty. Delicious breakfast with an incredible view.

The hotel staff is inattentive to guests. When we checked out, they didn't offer us to call a shuttle to the parking lot, and the only way to get on the shuttle was this way. We found out about this after 30 minutes of waiting for the shuttle from the driver. The driver didn't pick us up, but said he would be back in 30 minutes. We had a lot of heavy things, but we couldn't wait any longer. We had to drag our things ourselves and lost over an hour of time. We had a whole day ahead of us on the road and this was a serious delay for us.

The breakfast was very nice. A lot of options and served in a very pleasant breakfast room. The location was in the heart of Hallstatt. Our room was big and the beds comfortable with a semi private common area outside our door. We have rented two rooms so the bathroom while shared was only used by the occupants of our two rooms. We had some issues catching the shuttle to our car as we left just after 1pm and the shuttle started up again till 2pm but we were unaware of this. There is a phone number you can call to get the pick up times.

I had an excellent stay at Gasthof Simony Hallstatt B&B! The location is absolutely breathtaking, right by the lake with stunning views that made every moment feel like a postcard. The building itself is full of charm and character, and waking up to the view of the lake was simply magical. The staff were wonderful, warm, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. They made sure everything went smoothly and added a personal touch that made me feel at home. Everything about this place is just beautiful, from the cozy rooms to the peaceful lakeside setting. I can’t recommend it enough and would definitely stay here again!

I was a bit worried about staying her due to some of the reviews about creaky stairs etc. but I am so glad that we booked two nights here! This place is a gem. I was not bothered by the stairs at all. If you appreciate history and old architecture, you will especially love staying here. I think the best features of Gasthaus Simony are the location of the building and the morning breakfasts on the water. The staff was also extremely friendly! My room was spacious and clean and I loved looking out of my window down to the market square. Thank you for a wonderful memory! I'll be back for sure.

Staff were very welcoming. Location couldn't have been better. The only room available when booking was with a shared bathroom, which I was dreading, however worked out okay. The room itself was very spacious and comfortable, opening into a living area with couches and dining table which was shared with one other room, very unexpected and would have been really useful if we had been staying longer. The house itself was very quirky, with many homely touches, which made it very charming. Despite having a shared bathroom, I felt it was good value for money when compared to other hotels in the same location. Positioned about two minutes away from the ferry landing, which was an absolute bonus. Would recommend.

My room with a view (albeit tiny, it works for a single traveler like me), and the breakfast site. I went down to the breakfast location before the appointed breakfast hour (and thankfully I was allowed in). It was the most tranquil, sublime, and authentic way to experience Hallstat (calm lake, mist in the air, chirping birds, swans and ducks languidly moving in the lake, morning light has freshly arisen). I had the pleasure to take it all in for 30 uninterrupted minutes - communing with nature in peace all by myself, and this hotel made it possible. Priceless!

Creaky floors. No toilet in the room I booked (but being an authentic/classic European house, the place was not designed for modern day Airbnb accommodations). So if one wants an authentic experience, this is the place for you. Otherwise, if modern comforts is what you are after, this might not be it for you.

Room for 4 persons was very shy, no place even to put a luggage - but as described, no surprise, same as with parking, consider as its old town, its not reachable by car, parking is outside the old town, you will get there by shuttle service. So overall its interesting experience living in an old town, old house on bank of the lake with a fantastic view from the room.

Breakfast is very modest, no hot options. Not a hotel related, but looks like a Hallstatt is hot spot for one day passers, so a bit crowdy. And have a cash with you, as dinner places - cash only.

The location is perfect. The breakfast was great. This is an old building with very squeaky floors, which adds to its charm, and we didn't hear the floors and stairs at night. The rooms are charming with old rustic furniture. Our room faced the town square with a magnificent view. Our co travellers had a view of the lake. The outdoors serving area is right on the lake, which would've been amazing, if only we hadn't been there in wasp season.

We were in Hallstatt during a heatwave. We knew the place did not have AC, but it would have been great with a fan in the room at least. But that's really the only less positive thing we can say about the place. The wasp season was in full bloom, so sadly we had to quickly escape from the outdoors serving area, where we attempted to enjoy our breakfast. We're not faulting the B&B for that, it's wasp season everywhere.

Location was awesome! Right by the town square and lots of restaurants nearby. The staff was so polite, made us feel welcomed, and happily offered us restaurant recommendations. Our room had a dedicated toilet (outside of the room) and a shower dedicated to just two rooms. I would recommend this to anyone staying in Hallstatt!

They claimed to have a shuttle service since you couldn’t drive in the main town where our hotel was. We tried to use the shuttle service but when they arrived the shuttle bus driver said our hotel never called. We gave up and walked 15 minutes to our car which was no problem since we only had backpacks and got to enjoy the stunning views one last time.

We are a family of 6 with 4 adult children age 17 - 26 years. I booked 2 rooms both facing the lake. We traveled from Zurich via train. It took us around 8 hours, 3 trains and a ferry to reach Hallstatt. We arrived around 6 pm and it was already dark since we were travelling in February. The hotel was only 100 meters from the jetty. I received clear instruction for us to check-in. The keys were left in the lock box which was just next to the door of the side entrance. There were no lift but our room was only one floor up. So carrying our luggage up one floor was quite okay. Upon entering the room, I was pleasantly surprised with the decoration of the room. Old cupboard that was a bit musty but still functional. Solid wood chairs, table and bed. It was beautiful, charming and unique. We really appreciate the staff for turning the sofabed into bed and putting all the beddings. It was very thoughtful of them since we already arrived late and the beds were prepared for us. We were quite hungry but we get a good dinner at the halal kebab stall just nearby the jetty. The view from the room was stunning. I watched the sun rise across the mountains and lake from the balcony of our room. It is a breathtaking view. The breakfast provided was wonderful. The staff was very attentive. Even though it was simple but we had a good breakfast with breads, cereals, cheese, fruits, cakes, yogurt. Tea and coffee were served at the table. There was also a self-service coffee and tea at a corner of the hotel reception. Everything that we want to see was only a walking distance from the hotel. Checkout was quite early at 10am. But the hotel staff let us leave our luggage while we went for sight seeing.

The toilet bowl in the room that my sons stayed was installed wrongly. Other than that, I love everything. I wish I stayed longer instead of just one night.
