From the moment you see the hut on the side of the mountain you feel a home from home. Relaxing, quiet (interspersed with the melodic sounds of cow bells) & comfortable. Bernhard & his team are like a welcoming family. Comfortable bunks, scrummy Austrian food & delicious homemade schnapps. If you want to experience a traditional mountain lodge experience this is a great place to start. With unexpected bonus fast wifi!

You can’t plan the weather! All the more reason to come again. We were there for only a short time so we didn’t try out, or need, the showers. As water is a precious commodity these are an additional charge - unable to review.

the mountain chalet is 5-10 minutes from the cable car in beautiful surroundings and offers beautiful possibilities for hiking. the staff is nice and helpful, the food is good. the beds are fine. After 10 pm the chalet is quiet. The chalet is clean and only the shower has to be paid for. It is on a token and costs 3 euro because of the difficult availability of water at the cottage. They let you get drinking water at the restaurant. We were overall very happy with the cleanliness, the environment and the helpfulness of the staff. If you like the mountains, I definitely recommend it.

Just everything. Amazing. The most kind and hospitable Nepalese family runs this mountain hut. They are all incredible. We felt so at home and wish we could have stayed longer. It will be a massive highlight in all of our 2 months of traveling. Thank you so much! Also, the cable cars sound more confusing than they actually are. Really easy and SO COOL to get to the hut.

Bed sheet need to be change

Very friendly family operation, plenty helpful with any issues. Homely lodge feel, very cozy especially after a day hiking in the wind and rain!

On site meals were very welcome but very pricey. We understand the remote aspect contributes to this, and the dinner was very yummy and filling but the breakfast was pretty underwhelming.

This hut is privately run by a family from Nepal. Our stay there felt so very peaceful, and the food was lovely. The location is absolutely beautiful. Really enjoyed being there. We hiked down to Hallstatt from there, and the trail was very well maintained and offered amazing views.
