We stayed at B&B Contrast for three nights, and from start to finish, it was a wonderful experience. Sam and Valerie welcomed us into their beautiful home with genuine warmth and hospitality that made our visit to Bruges all the more special. Valerie greeted us personally upon arrival and showed us around. The whole check-in process was smooth and friendly—we immediately felt at home. A badge was provided for easy access, meaning we could come and go as we pleased. The location of the B&B couldn’t be better—nestled right along the canal, our room had a glorious view. It’s perfectly situated: close enough to walk into the city centre, but just far enough from the busier tourist areas to enjoy some calm and quiet. Our room was spotless—clean, bright, and fresh—and the perfect size for two people. The facilities were excellent: a powerful, spacious shower, comfortable bed, wardrobe space, a fridge and tea/coffee-making amenities. The breakfast was a highlight. Served in a stunning breakfast room overlooking their beautiful garden, we even had the chance to eat outside one morning. The spread was delicious and generous, with plenty of options including cheeses, meats, eggs, fresh pastries, cereals, fruit, and more. It was the perfect start to each day. What really set our stay apart, though, was the chance to chat with both Valerie and Sam, who took a genuine interest in our plans and offered excellent recommendations for restaurants, walks, and places to visit that we might otherwise have missed. On our final day, they kindly allowed us to leave our luggage after check-out so we could enjoy our last few hours in the city. We can’t recommend B&B Contrast highly enough. If you're visiting Bruges and are looking for somewhere truly special, this is the place to stay.

There was genuinely nothing we would change about our stay. From the thoughtful hosts to the beautiful setting, comfortable room, and delicious breakfast, everything was absolutely perfect.

Location was perfect, very central but away from the crowds. The main square was an easy 10 minute walk. The accommodation was just perfect, in a stunning building. Our hosts were so welcoming and attentive, and available if we needed anything. Our room overlooked the canal and city, it was a beautiful view to wake up to every morning . Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of choice, fresh breads, pastries, fruit, eggs, yoghurts etc. They have two gorgeous cats too. We had such a wonderful time and cannot wait to come back, it was so relaxing.

Nothing it was perfect

We had a wonderful stay at the stunning, design-led, modern-traditional Hotel Contrast. An exceptional location just 10 minutes from the bustling centre of Bruges and extremely quiet. Super friendly hosts made us feel so welcome and special and we were given a very comfortable, beautiful, newly renovated, en-suite garden room with its own patio table and chairs. The most amazing breakfast - much more than we could eat with delicious freshly-baked croissants and eggs as-you-liked. We loved the garden aspect with two happy cats enjoying the space and would be happy to return.

A little more cupboard storage/shelving for clothes and small items would be useful but this is just being super critical!

We had a fantastic long weekend at B&B Contrast. Sam & Valerie were amazing hosts, informative and very welcoming. The B&B itself is gorgeous, with a beautiful relaxing garden. You are a short walk away from the centre making it really peaceful but well located. Breakfast offering was perfect and made even better by the two resident cats. They have really thought of the little touches and I would absolutely stay again.

What an amazing place to stay! It is in a great location. The property is beautifully designed. We stayed in one of the garden rooms. It was comfortable and modern with a small outdoor sitting area. The breakfast is ample and quite diverse. The highlight was without a doubt the charming hosts, Valerie and Sam. They were incredibly warm and welcoming. We felt incredibly well taken care of. If we return to Bruges we will definitely stay there again…and have already started recommending it to our friends!

We couldn’t have had a better stay in this beautiful city; the entire property had such character, our room was modern, comfortable and spotless and the location was perfect being just out of the centre enough that the crowds didn’t follow us back!

Absolutely nothing, however it should be noted that there’s no lift as it’s a beautifully kept period property which wasn’t a problem for us but could be for others with mobility issues!

B&B Contrast is a gem! Sam & Valerie were wonderful hosts, providing advice on sights, restaurants and events. Check in was easy and without hassle. Breakfast was excellent (Sam makes fantastic eggs). The property is very well located, about 10 minutes' walk to the Belfry. Parking is available (at a surcharge) if you are travelling by car. The rooms are well appointed and very clean. We will definitely be back!

I would like to write an excellent review for the accommodation in Bruges with a fantastic breakfast, beautiful surroundings, a stunning garden, and a very clean and friendly atmosphere. The accommodation in Bruges was simply amazing. It started with a welcoming and warm reception from the staff, who provided us with all the necessary information for a comfortable stay. The breakfast was outstanding - fresh pastries, a wide selection of fresh fruits, and delicious cheeses and ham. We truly enjoyed the delightful food and the choice of tea and coffee. The accommodation itself was tastefully furnished and comfortable. The room was spacious, with a comfortable bed and stylish furniture. Everything was maintained in great cleanliness and order, which contributed to our relaxation and comfort. The bathroom was modern and well-equipped, allowing us to comfortably shower and prepare for a day full of exploring Bruges. However, what we enjoyed the most was the beautiful garden, which was a true haven. The garden terrace overlooking the green meadows and blooming flowers mesmerized us. It was the perfect place to relax after a full day of sightseeing. There was plenty of outdoor furniture where we could unwind and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Overall, the accommodation in Bruges with an excellent breakfast, beautiful surroundings, a stunning garden, and friendly staff provided us with a wonderful experience. We were impressed by the attention to detail and the care the staff put into ensuring a pleasant and relaxing stay. I highly recommend this place to anyone planning to visit Bruges and seeking exceptional accommodation.

A stone's throw from the main centre, the location was perfect for us, as situated in a quiet area of the city. The breakfast was sensational, we left each morning with full bellies thanks to their cooking and options available. The place itself is so clean and smart, whilst maintaining the age and character of the building.

There was nothing about this stay that we didn't like, we cannot fault the B&B location or the hosts. We knew that the location was opposite side of the city to the train station, but it just allowed more exploring to be done.
