superbly located just a short walk from centre of town. Easy on street parking right outside. A fascinating historical building with space to relax in lobby and bar area.
The room was in the roof area, as were many rooms. There was no window in the room, just a Velux style roof light with electronic remote control. The Velux only opened a couple of inches, then, without fail, automatically closed after 5 minutes. we only realised this after an evening out, & didn’t want to be complaining & changing rooms in the middle of the night. The room was stiflingly hot and incredibly claustrophobic. Photos in listing weren’t up to date, and offered a different ‘feel’ than the real experience. wasn’t aware there was a gym and sauna till I read after our stay.

The hotel was beautiful and our suite was amazing. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The bar area was very cosy with the fire blazing!
The toilet paper was not the best quality. Our room was on the ground floor and the door to the entrance of this section of the hotel was loud and banged when people came through. The room above us was quite noisy. The floorboards above were creaky and we could often hear the occupants talking and their TV. However, this was not a major issue for us, as it did not spoil our stay.

Loved our palatial room and the decor, ambiance and location of the hotel. The lady who greeted and assisted us was incredibly friendly and helpful and the private parking all worked well. Lovely breakfast and a fascinating building.
One gripe was that, on our last morning, the shower tray almost flooded due to water not draining properly and on managing to pull the large plug out of the plughole it was clear that this needed more regular cleaning out due to the number of guests with long hair using the shower. One of our dressing gowns had a belt loop missing and the small rugs either side of the main bed would benefit from being secured to the parquet floor (we just rolled them up). Other than that, all excellent thank you and it was a pleasure to stay in this beautiful building..

A lovely location very close to the center. The staff were excellent and very helpful. Lovely to be able to travel with my dog without any problems. The options to check in online beforehand are useful, but I was still asked for all the same information on arrival so not much point.
I booked the hotel parking, but the street parking outside would have been much cheaper and much less hassle. There is actually a parking garage just around the corner. I was lead to believe that the hotel parking was the closest option. It is actually only one space in a private garage so this is not a serious option for people. I asked if I could change to just park outside and was told I would have to pay for the garage too. I was really looking forward to the cooked breakfast, but it was over cooked scrambled eggs, watery mushrooms and dried out bacon. The waffles were awful. Fresh ones are fantastic so it is a shame. The pastries were good. I would recommend getting a fresh breakfast around the corner along with a proper coffee.

The hotel was beautiful, very well preserved. We stayed at the deluxe room - which was very beautiful and quite big. The location is one of the biggest advantages as you can do everything by foot.
We stayed at the deluxe room - which was very beautiful and quite big, although, it had a very strong smell when we arrived. For a 4 stars hotel it unfortunately does not offer a lot, no water , no special welcoming drink or anything. The breakfast is very much “ Average”, you can find something way better in any Bruges caffe - this was quite disappointing. Again, for the price you would expect better. Not even the traditional Belgium waffles were good.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable and well-appointed. The hotel is close to all the city centre so everything is in walking distance. The building has been refurbished and retains a kind of romantic faded charm.
Parking is possible but a complete pain - some distance away and on the second floor of a garage which requires very careful negotiation of a car-lift to attain. Alas I scraped our car on a car-park pillar which will cost a lot to repair so it’s advisable to visit Bruges by train or make other parking arrangements. Also, the hotel does not really do much in the way of food (you can pre-book breakfast though we didn’t). It doesn’t much matter as there are so many places nearby but it’s worth bearing in mind.

Nice friendly staff, quick check in and out. Great location. Lovely cosy hotel, lovely double room with big bed. Rooms were cleaned every day. Breakfast was really good. The whole trip was amazing. Bruge is beautiful.. Highly recommend the beer and waffles experience, la plancha restaurant for steak, the walking & boat tour. The Bath and barley spa is unreal too.
Nothing I didn't like

A beautiful historic hotel in the heart of Bruges. We stayed in a garden suite, which was so pretty - decorated in a period style. The stairs were a bit of an issue for our old hips but it was worth it for the loveliness of this suite. Lovely bathroom with a great bath for a long soak. Delicious breakfast in a beautifully decorated dining room. Perfect central location for seeing all the lovely sights of this beautiful city.

ideally placed for exploring old Bruges. It is close to everything but still reasonably quiet. Very comfortable and stylish. Staff are very helpful. Excellent breakfast in the historic dining room.
The air conditioning had failed in our room, which meant it was too warm at night. We could have done with more coffee, tea, and milk in the room.

Loved the location, and especially the public rooms and courtyard gardens, with their glass covered ways and the glass lift. It all had a very Bruges vibe and didn't feel at all like a hotel you might find anywhere. Breakfasts very enjoyable too.
The decor of our room felt drab (dull green on dull green) and not very bright light bulbs. The shower was rubbish (shame it didn't come off the same high pressure system as the bath)
