This hotel was a wonderful oasis during our stay in Bruges. Style “old fashioned, elegant”, but with modern amenities. In the heart of the city, but on a side alley, so also quiet. Our room was not large, but worked fine for the two of us. Would have loved to enjoy the large modern bath tub, but never found the time. The staff was excellent. Loved the custom tea service at night. Breakfast, although not included, was delicious - especially the waffles!

A minor issue, but the bathroom mirror was way too high p, so I could only see the top of my head 🙂. Not a problem for my tall husband, though. Perhaps my favorite stay on our trip to Netherlands and Belgium.

The staff were very welcoming and attentive, we really loved everything about our 4 night stay here. From the moment we checked in to the moment we left. There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room but that does not matter as you can order this for free via room service at any time. We stayed in room 20 (superior room with canal view) and loved sitting by the window watching other tourists from our room. The hotel is mentioned on the canal boat tour so be aware of this if you like to sleep in or need a silent room. It didn't bother us at all and signalled our time to get up and start exploring the beautiful city.

The only thing minor discomfort was a little overheating in the night. This could have been solved by a loose sheet under the duvet but other than that there was nothing that could have been better.

This is the famous hotel which served as a set for "In Bruges," one of my personal favorites. The room was cozy and the breakfast, with high-quality ingredients, rather delicious, although perhaps a tad expensive. The staff was very friendly and helpful in an unobtrusive way. There is some interesting art on display throughout the hotel, and the interior is quite tasteful.

The messaging via Booking.com prior to arrival was perhaps a bit over the top, with long emails detailing all sorts of rules. The latter is perhaps understandable in the context that Bruges is after all very touristy and that might create the need for more procedures. Anyway, we enjoyed our stay here and would come back, albeit probably to a different room :)

We arrived at the hotel and the outside was immediately impressive! So beautifully presented at the entrance with beautiful cosy lights inside and it was so inviting. The staff at this hotel are all 10/10 - so friendly, attentive but not overly so and happy to see us at every interaction. We loved that we could ring down to reception 24/7 to ask for a fresh tea or coffee and they always delivered it to our room really quickly - we felt so spoilt! The room was beautiful, the beds super comfy and the view of the courtyard so gorgeous. The reception rooms downstairs are all cosy with soft jazz playing and we loved having a tea in the cosy lounge. The location was amazing - right on the canal and a two minute walk to the main square.

We stayed at the hotel for four nights. Originally, we were supposed to spend two nights in Bruges and two nights in Brussels, but we enjoyed it so much that we decided to spend the entire trip in Bruges. The hotel staff helped us and we were able to book a room for the entire trip. We had to change rooms, and both rooms were very nice. First, we had a room with a canal view, and it was great to sit there and enjoy a cup of coffee (which could be ordered free of charge from the reception), while we watched all the canal boats and the lively atmosphere around. The breakfast was good, but a bit expensive for what you got. The staff was very friendly, and we really felt welcomed. We would love to go back

The ambiance of the old style, the position with lovely views of the canal. Quiet and secluded. Breakfast better than most hotels in Bruges. Fruit salad absolutely gorgeous. Shower hot and great pressure, heavenly. Umbrellas produced for guests to use in the rain.

Lack of fire safety. Tight proximity of toilet to door, door catch was a loop of leather. No tea making facility in room, yes it was produced on demand as small glasses or cups. The lack of light to put the door key in to get electricity on and get light in room. Bed rather high and firm. Entry to hotel through the receptionist only.

Overall a very good experience - lovely setting and well appointed room with comfortable bed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A few things could be improved: - no mention was made, in the info received before arrival , of the free shuttle service from the station ( one of the staff told us about it as we left). - better information on the breakfast would be helpful - it was described as a buffet, so we helped ourselves only to find that there was also an option for a cooked dish. - our room was very hot at night (unseasonably warm October) and mosquitos, from the canal presumably, were a problem with the windows open. - although room service was excellent we would have liked to be able to make tea or coffee ourselves without troubling the staff .

We had the most exquisite nights sleep at the hotel. We were in room 15 facing the walk way to the canal. It was so quiet at night even being a tourists area. Breakfast was amazing!! The Belgium waffle was light and crisp and cooked to perfection. The views of the canal were second to none. My husband and I enjoyed every second!!! We later found out Collin Farrel jumped out of this hotel into the Canal in the movie In Bruge.

Nothing everything was perfect. The staff went t above and beyond, was extremely friendly and accommodating. We requested month tea and coffee prior to our breakfast and it was delivered within minutes to our room in fine china and a silver tea set. Amazing!

This hotel was exceptional, first class luxury! A fabulous location with stunning views. The staff were warm and welcoming, happy to help with any queries. The room was beautiful, traditional decor and clean. The hotel provides tea and coffee to your room at any time which is lovely. The breakfast was fabulous, plenty of choice, all very fresh and beautifully presented in a gorgeous dining area. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for somewhere special to stay.

Absolutely everything!! I had heard that Brugge was a fairytale town (which it is) but I was so fortunate to stay in THE fairytale hotel in the fairytale town Perfect location beautiful room and the history of the hotel seeps through the walls All the staff were magnificent and I wish I could name them all personally but Isobel ( I hope I spelt it correctly) was a standout with such care and genuine interest in making sure that everything was as it should be. And of course it was!

The only thing I didn’t like was that I had to leave!!
