Location was perfect for the whole family to go around and explore the city centre. There is everything around and accessible on the walking distance. Cosy place with internal garden on the inside - there were no noises from the main road or outside. Self service breakfast and supply to tea and coffee was a nice add up.

There could be some more description where and how to park the car if you are staying for a longer time, since parking in the centre can be quite expensive. I missed the reception, however it made sense to do all inquiring online since there seems to be only 2 rooms in the property.

Fantastic location in a historic building with plenty of space for our family of 4, very nice that the kids' bunk bed space was off to the side with a glass door they could close. We stayed in the downstairs unit and found it very comfortable with plenty of space, plus use of the outdoor grass patio (shared with the owner who lives in an adjacent building with a super cute little dog). We also found it very helpful to use the common kitchen space (shared with the upstairs rental apartment) which had plenty of dishware and a small fridge, plus a variety of included breakfast items. Best of all there's a folding table and chairs you can set up right outside by the canal for a picnic lunch! The owner is friendly and helpful and the apartment was clean and comfortable. Fantastic location walking distance to everything. Paid parking is available 2 minutes away.

I saw many other reviews complained about various odd or unusual aspects of the apartments. It is true that the space is not a new modern hotel, but we knew that ahead of time and appreciated the charm of staying in a historic space. The apartment was what we expected and we were happy with everything.

This was a wonderful apartment in this really funky old building. It was in an absolutely beautiful part of Bruges - right on a canal, with a gorgeous view. It was very quiet and out of the way of the hordes of tourists. It was like having our own secret little hideaway. The little self-help breakfast area was such a cool idea. The apartment was over two floors, and the bedroom/living room was in an attic, with an amazing shower, and a really cool private rooftop patio tucked away. The host was super responsive, especially after one of our kids made a bit of a mess. Highly recommended if you want something different.

Nothing. It was great

Canal Central is ideally located within walking distance to all main attractions. We visited in February and Canal Central offered welcomed warmth and coziness after long day of sightseeing. The property was incredibly spacious for the children and I. Our room opened out onto a beautiful garden with a spectacular fish pond. It was decorated in old school charm with a modern twist. Peter our host was beyond kind the welcome chocolate’s were a lovely touch. Not only that I left my car keys in the propery and Peter kindly posted them back to me. I could not recommend this property highly enough

The location was perfect, quiet and still walking distance to the city centre. Parking nearby was a bonus, as well as a great kids playground. The property even had access to the gorgeous garden which was so good with a little one to entertain. You get a lot of space for your money. The breakfast area was a nice touch too! There's a lot to love about this place, we would definitely come back.

We had an issue with water pressure which was quickly rectified by the owner. It was a little dark in the property with natural light only coming from the main bedroom.

What’s not to like! The location is perfect. It is a very short stroll from the Molenbrug bridge centrum shuttle stop to the accommodation for your arrival and departure to/from the Brugge train station. The room is charming and a little quirky but quiet, comfortable, and a beautiful, scenic walk to market square and everything old town has to offer. Bruges became our favourite place on our European adventure and Canal central is the place to explore it from. There are plenty of options in every direction for cafes and restaurants and our head was on a swivel as we were taken by Bruges beauty and history on every turn and any direction we looked.

The location was right along the canal and a few blocks from the main belltower. Canal tour boats pass by often during the day. The breakfast was self-serve and self-cleanup at any time. There was an assortment of breads, cheese, yogurt, cereal and milk, tea, and coffee. No real provision for a hot breakfast but more toward the continental breakfast style. The room was comfortable, roomy, and quiet. An attached room had bunk beds, which would be great for a family. There was even a door from the bedroom to an enclosed courtyard.

The shower and toilet shared the same space and it was difficult to keep shower overspray away from the toilet area. It would be nice to have an additional towel for floor cleanup after showering. Perhaps a bathmat would help. Also, Booking.com apparently did not include the city tax at the time we booked. The host contacted us several days before our stay and asked us to pay this tax via a link he provided. That worked, but we were surprised that our credit card company charged us $10 for the "cash advance" for this transaction. I wish we had been warned about this payment link causing an unexpected extra charge.

Amazing location, what a treat to be so near the centre for such great value as a family. Detailed instructions how to find the apartment with lots of recommendations for parking. We loved the roof terrace to sit in the sun and listen to the bells. Quirky, just what we like as a family. Nice mini kitchen downstairs to use, sofa bed and single bed and massive bed that could have slept our family of four, ace!

The terrace chairs could have a little dust but who cares…what a great situation and view!

Loved the character of the building and the decor, and they location was excellent - free shuttle bus from the train station stops very close by and it's an easy walk along the canal into the centre. Loved the staircase and the little hallway downstairs. Very comfortable space, and we enjoyed the little room downstairs with breakfast provisions.

Very minor but slightly annoying that none of the lamps had globes (bulbs) in. Also, the occupants of the other room that shares the communal space did not wash up their dishes and utensils and there weren't enough spare for us.

February 2024

Location was great - in the centre of Bruges. Bed was large and very comfortable, room was spacious and entrance area was an extra space to sit at a dining table. Everything was very easy, code for the front door and key for our room. Breakfast was basic but included in the price and there was a fridge which we used to keep our sandwiches and fresh milk that we bought locally.

I did not realise that it was an unattended apartment so there were no staff present - this wasn't really a problem, just that I didn't think it was very clear when booking. Also, due to slow connection with roaming data I didn't get the email with the door code till later that evening so I had to call to get in, but host was very friendly and helpful so no big problem. Bathroom didn't have ventilation so the room got quite steamy. Travellers from UK should bring teabags - it's set up for coffee and the only tea on sale locally is Lipton.
