First and most importantly. The guy 'Charlie' who met me couldn't do enough to ensure that I was welcomed properly. He went out of his way to facilitate my requirements. What can I say. I wasn't expecting much, this was just a stop over. The breakfast was beyond fantastic. Salmon, 2 types of eggs, bacon, cold meats, cheeses, half a dozen bread choices, down egbert fresh coffee, dry fruit and dates. Fresh fruit, loads more. Swimming pool, 100 yards from an incredible beach, the docks and the old town. Restaurant and bars next door. I'm going back with my wife.

There's nothing I didn't like.

This hotel was amazing value for money - great location right near the beach with all the restaurants/bars. Rooms very nice and spacious - very comfortable bed. Pool, sauna and steam room was lovely - nice and quiet and great added extra. Breakfast very nice and good choice. Would definately recommend

Night staff was quite unhelpful (not the day staff who checked in he was extremely helpful) asked could we use the gym facilities and 7.55 he told us to wait till 8. I went to reception again at 8am for him then to nearly say it’s only 7.59 - agreed to hand the key and just said it’s downstairs - couldn’t find this at first thought we was in the storage cupboard eventually found it in the dark.

We had a very pleasant and relaxing stay at Hotel Europe Oostende. The terms of the booking were clear, the answers from the hotel were prompt. The room was comfortable, clean and quiet, with comfortable bedding. I particularly appreciated the dimmable lights and their positioning, making the room cosy. There was also a separate desk and an armchair. Furthermore, it is nice to have the toilet and the shower separately, for the comfort of the family (we travelled and shared the room with our son). We also enjoyed the swimmingpool of the hotel. Especially when the beach is uninviting, the pool is a nice alternative to relax. It is not a big one, but it is warmed and clean and feels safe for all family members above 1.3m height. It was not busy when we went, so it felt rather like a private pool :) We also appreciated the variety for the breakfast and the cleaning service. There are two breakfast rooms - probably depending on the occupancy rate. One has large windows, one is smaller and cosier. But the same products are avaliable. I enjoyed the pancakes, but there are many options, including smoked salmon, fresh fruits, and a glass of Cava, if not too early to start the day with bubbles. Coffee varieties are from Dowe Egberts machine and I found them reasonable. Also nice that the breakfast on weekends is until 11.00! Last words about the welcoming at the reception: we were able to leave the luggage in a secured box on the first and last day, so we were able to go around lightly. We also received very good advice about where to go eat in the first evening, with clear information about the cost level of different restaurants. Bonus: the hotel offered a code to be able to buy train tickets with discount. We appreciated the idea even though we had our tickets already set.

The only point a bit strange are the (tinded)glass doors for the toilet/shower. If I were travelling with friends / colleagues I would have appreciated to know this detail in advance, to be able to choose separate rooms, for privacy. As a family it worked...

We requested a room away from the lift which we got. We booked an upgrade and we were very happy with it. Easy walk into the centre and very close to the beach. Loved the breakfast. Lovely light room. Sausage bacon and very good scrambled eggs for hot and a very good assortment on continental and even prosecco (I think). Secure parking under the hotel. All in all really enjoyed our 2 nights there. Hoping to return later in the year

Lovely, comfortable room with excellent bathroom facilities. Fabulous breakfast buffet.

I could have killed the guest in one of the rooms near me who had music or the TV playing loudly half the night. This was not the fault of the hotel and since I was already in bed I could not go wandering around the corridor to see where it was coming from. Maybe he or she will read this. No doubt it annoyed other people too. As someone famous once said "hell is other people". It was still a great stay at this hotel.

Good value for money. It was a nice bonus that we could go for a swim. Breakfast was good, the room was clean and well-equipped. Fresh towels were neatly provided the next day. Overall, a pleasant stay.

The only thing I didn’t like was that the toilet and shower had a sort of see-through door. Other than that, everything was great.

Location is perfect, 100 m from main beach. Breakfast is good and complete. Sauna was great. A good deal for 106 euros we paid ncluding breakfast but certainly not worth the 200 e original price.

Needs to be refreshed, a bit outdated for a 4 star, but still good. Gym is poor and in basement, only 3 machines, some broken.

The location of the hotel is wonderful, not beachfront, but less than a 2-minute walk to the beach and also the city center. Breakfast was hearty and varied!

Had hoped for a bigger pool, which wasn't the case. The pool was indoor, which is a plus; however, when it gets busy, one can hardly hear oneself speak.

The breakfast offered various dishes, the suite and beds were spacious and comfortable. Bathroom with double sink is particularly convenient. Perfect situation in the city, close to sea and really nice places to eat, enjoyed the hammam sauna and pool one day

Iron not available while we would have needed one, miscommunication on the breakfast time made us miss it on the bank holiday, cold water in the hotel pool which was only accessible for free after 5pm, unfortunately no fresh juice was offered at breakfast and one small bottle of water only in our room upon arrival.

Spacious clean room. Slightly dated with some wear and tear (wallpaper, carpet). Well equipped bathroom. Shower without door requires some care to avoid splashing water all around (but is much better than a curtain). The semi-transparant doors for the toilet and bathroom could be surprising for some but totally ok for us. Very well located right in the center of Oostende.
