the setting is awesome. People were very friendly and prompt to our requests, the food was always changing and very tasty.

The resort overall infrastructure does not match the price (you can get better deals in the Madivas). The response and the transport from the airport was not well coordinated. minimum number of kayaks (1) per type. No gym (yet). Lots of construction debris in one side of the island (unacceptable for a resort of this type). Food was targeted to the US taste. The Chef was good but the quality of the ingredients was not of the best kind (small fish, no lobster) for the price. No beer included in the drinks. And the list would continue....

The staff at Shaka Caye is marvelous - couldn't have! They all worked really hard to make our visit a comfortable and memorable experience and they succeeded big time. Chef Jose prepared the most delicious meals we have tasted in a long time (see pictures), and the food was served in the most professional way by Michael and Percy. Two choices for breakfast, two for lunch and two for dinner (plus starter and desert) every day. Fresh fish and lobster, loads of vegetables, but also chicken and beef. New menu daily plus a snack delivered to our room. Obi the barkeeper made excellent tropical drinks from an extensive menu. The friendly ladies, Glanda, Veronica and Daisy, in the office were super helpful and did every kinds of arrangements for us from snorkling trip, transport to the airport and mailing postcards. The cabanas are beautiful in a "caribbean" style. Loads of thick towels, very comfortable bed and great bathroom with enough hot water. Minibar filled up for free every day. All the cabanas and the studio rooms are located at the water front, and there are more than enough sun beds and you can have as much privacy as you like. No creepy insects on the island. All the outdoor and indoor facilities are clean. Sargassum is a problem all over the caribbean, but Shaka Caye staff cleaned the beach every day so it was pristine and attractive. W love Shaka Caye and the employees, and will come back again.

I could have wished for a bathrobe......

Wonderful location. As beautiful as the pictures portray. Felt like our own private island. The highlight was the staff. Roddy, Percy, Veronica, Edwin, and our amazing Chef Juan. Felt like they went above and beyond to make our stay special. The food was incredible. I highly recommend Shaka Caye

Nothing to improve...this was a wonderful experience

This is one of the most beautiful locations you'll ever find! Gorgeous aquamarine blue waters stretches out onto the horizon, and it's only a few feet deep so you can kayak far out into it without any concerns. The island operator Milly is as genuine and helpful as you can ask for. She seriously cares about the people who find Shaka and constantly goes the extra mile.

I should have stayed longer!

From the beginning, great service from airport to the resort. I loved the location. I loved the clear water, I love the peacefulness. I love this little island.

All-inclusive not really. Extra charge for wine and beer. Snacks, like a small bag of chips will cost you. Game room and games not as described.

Everything felt so exclusive and catered to us. We had an amazing time and would definitely return in the future.

Everything was amazing but we heard they might be adding a pool and that sounds amazing!
