Room was comfortable and food selection and quality very good in the buffet restaurant. The a la carte restaurant was also very good, with large selection of food and wines available. For a large hotel it did not feel crowded in the main buildings or grounds but the Swimming pool on Sunday was very busy and only a few spaces available to sit. During the week days it was much less crowded and plenty of spaces available. Spa facilities were as expected and the massage was good.

Spa centre has no free drinking water available, it had to be purchased from the bar. Free water being available is common for other Spa centres I have visited.

Excellent spa. Plenty of room, lots for all ages to do. Didn't seem over busy due to the size. Some nice local attractions.

Description said toiletries included. We'd expect shampoo, conditioner, body cream etc for the price we paid for the hotel (as in other spa hotels we've stayed in Bulgaria). A soap dispenser by the sink and shampoo/shower gel dispenser in the shower is what was provided. No tea, coffee in the room when we first arrived either. Spa towels should be changed each day also.

Parking is spacious, especially for newly built part of a hotel which offers a covered, garage-like space. A lot of personal hygiene items provided (lotion, soap). Rooms are spacious with smart TVs, making it possible to stream YouTube videos from a phone. Elevators are available to access all the floors. A lot of peackocks roaming around the outside area. SPA facilities are oustanding - jacquizzies, swimming pools, saunas are good. Lovely area and view (worth asking to be placed into a room with a view towards the outside of the hotel)

A lot of personnel speak no to little English. New built part of a hotel has a very minimal amount of facilities as compared to an older part of a hotel. A walk from a new part to an old part of a hotel (where most of the facilities are) is via the uncovered outdoor area. 2 receptions available - no clear indication that both have access to the information to all parts of a hotel (can use any for questions and check in/out), Nothing too critical otherwise, some minor points to keep in mind.

Great as always - comfy beds, good breakfast, quiet, relaxing, perfect service, big room, clean.

The water this time was not too clean and had a lot of chlorine in it (got a bit in my nose and got a bad throat and tummy ache afterwards)

My recent stay at Starosel was an exceptionally rejuvenating experience, offering a perfect blend of relaxation and luxury. The serene environment and top-notch amenities contributed to a memorable visit once again. The hotel's dining options were diverse and delicious, offering both healthy and indulgent choices. The spa services were outstanding, with a wide range of treatments available. The room was spacious, well-appointed, and offered stunning views of mountains in the distance and the private zoo-park of the hotel beneath our room. The freely walking peacocks 🦚are gorgeous.

Like the food, the spa and the wine trip.

1. I did not like the fact that it is a spa complex but I have to dry up my wet towels and bathrobes in my room after spa activities instead of leaving them and receive new from the hotel. 2. Also if I throw out a wet towel I have to buy a new one. 3. Another thing is that you should leave an information sheet of the whole complex in every room because a visitor does not know what are the activities in the complex or what are the hours of breakfast and dinner. 4. Another thing is that there were not enough hangers in the bathroom for all the towels and personal stuff.

The complex is exceptionally well crafted, symbiotic combination catering for both lovers of wine and spa. You could see how their main subject of wine production has spilled over into the Wellness and beauty sector, creating a truly divine-like experience for guests. The traditional design both interior and exterior brings a homely touch and feeling of community. The gardens and the free roaming peacocks and cats are near therapeutic. Excellent choice for solo, couples or family vacations.

Our room could benefit from updated pillows. We found ours quite hard and not at the right height. Newer, softer pillows plus a diversity of pillow sizes in the rooms will cater to the guests individual preferences.

A fabulous hotel in central Bulgaria. Rooms were huge and afforded views over beautiful autumnal hills. Lovely soft carpets, a perfect mattress and an enormous bathroom. The spa was a wonderful bonus. We enjoyed steam rooms, sauna and bubbling thermal water in the pool. Even had a dip in the outdoor pool - underneath the moon! The decor is unique, with something different to see around every corner. Staff were super helpful. I left my bikini behind and they arranged to send it to me which was great! The proximity to the Thracian Cult Centre and chapel meant it was easy to spend a morning exploring there.

The Spa is big enough that even though the residence was full, it still didn't feel overcrowded. The food was pretty tasty. The red wine was good as well.

There was nowhere to buy a big bottle of water. You could only get an expensive medium sized one at the restaraunt. So better buy a few beforehand and bring with.

Spa facilities are excellent. Clean and good variety of facilities. Good value massage very professional and all the staff are helpful polite and welcoming.

Unfortunately no one told us that there was a wedding on and the restaurant in the hotel for the fabulous buffet dinner would not be working. In addition there were building works next to our room which we were not told about - but the builders were courteous and very tidy. But if you had wanted to rest in your room - it was noisy. We feel we should have been told to manage our expectations. Not a problem for us but hope they don’t get complaints from others.
