Spent a few days here whilst exploring Kampot - a new hotel in a great location just outside of the town centre. Would absolutely stay here again if we came back to the area... Location - 5 minute tuktuk from the town centre was perfect as its actually in the middle for lots of activities and transport but you avoid the noise of the town itself. Room - good hotel room, bed fine if slightlybon the firmer side (but by Asian standards soft!), cleaning in room pretty good (just the detail but fully OK!), well appointed and good shower! Staff - friendly staff throughout the hotel, mixed level of English across the departments and a bit of a challenge with the receptionists (one was fantastic but others seemed to only be able to do the basics - I had some frustration whilst trying to get a basic bit of admin done but we got there in the end) ironically the young lady working in the skybar would have been better on reception as her English was excellent! All very friendly and definitely not a problem! Food - good menu at reasonable prices cooked to order up in the restaurant. Actually ate here twice in the end as it was decent and convenient after a long day out and about. Drinks menu also broad and good prices again. Skybar- lovely views across to Bokor and the salt flats. Perfect for watching the sun set with comfy seating. Parking - huge amount of space for off road parking with 24/7 security. ATM - there are a number of ATMs within a few minutes walk including the major providers for tourists. So in summary I'd stay here again without question. Great hotel!

Breakfast buffet is not the same quality as the menu order breakfast. Almost no options for western tourists. Room felt not entirely clean. Could be improved

Unfortunately because they’ve only been open a month when we stayed, they were still completing the level above us and there was construction. Also we had no house keeping for the whole four nights we stayed. But super nice hotel SO good for the price. Would stay again

The staff consisted of some of the sweetest people. They always inquired about me and how I was finding the city and made recommendations about places to visit. The rooms were decent and had a good view. The reception staff will help you stay updated if you have booked a bus with Giant Ibis for further travels (which will pick you up from the front of the hotel, if you book tickets on Giant Ibis website; not all hotels are listed but this one is). The property is right on the main road that goes to Phnom Penh.

The location is a about 1.5km away from the happening part of town, which I did not mind as such. A tuktuk would typically take $1-$1.5 for that or you could take a leisurely walk and see the Durian roundabout in between and the local markets. I stumbled across a store selling Anime goods (Jintan Anime Store) while doing that. The drainage in my washroom was a bit slow causing some degree of clogging.

We stayed 10 days in Kampot in Square Kampot Hotel. We loved our spacious double room with a big size most comfortable bed , fresh towels and linen regularly changed, super clean, nice small balkony. The breakfast was always great and delicious with great choice. American breakfast, Asian breakfast and buffet all was spot on! Most importantly a special thank you to the restaurant staff Lika and Chan Thorn! ❤️ so attentive, great English skills and always helpful and kind! 🙏 we enjoyed our stay in every way and would come back anytime when in Kampot again! We wish them to be paid better wages/salary though as they make sure that the hotel is successful and with great customer care! Wishing you all the best and hopefully will see you again!

Bad smell from the sewage system, weird stares from one of the receptionists.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The stuff in the bar were particularly good and again really helpful.

My room had the chicken farm beside it, and I was awoken at 3:15 am every morning by cocks crowing. This continued for hours. The earplugs that were supplied did nothing to help this. I realise I should’ve asked to change room so this is no reflection on the staff who I’m sure would’ve helped. The shelf in the fridge was also very dirty so I removed it.

We stayed in this wonderful hotel for 4 nights. The staff were absolutely amazing and could not do enough to help. Lika was very helpful and the manager upgraded our room to the Family suite which was so wonderful. The beds were so comfy, the apartment so clean and the food in the restaurant was delicious. 15 min walk to the old city or $1.00 tuktuk. Kampot was such a wonderful city and this beautiful hotel was a gem. Thank you, we would stay again 100%.

Look..: In all honesty. Absolutely nothing I can say, negatively about "The Square " (I always write honest 'reviews'...: more helpful to other travelers). (1) STAFF ...: everyone here is so genuinely pleasant and helpful. I only got 3 names: Chantaorn,Lika and Eric. But ALL staff work as one to make your stay memorable. I'd have no hesitation in returning. Chantaorn makes sure nothing is left 'to chance'..enquiring how your breakfast was,if your room's comfortable, etc. Lika, likewise and so too, Eric..It makes a HUGE difference. I extended 2 more nights,as a result. I can't congratulate them enough ! The Hotel is very fortunate to have so many great people working here. Reception will organise ALL trips you need plus provide hints of good places to visit. A 'Giant Ibis' bus to Phnom Penh? Not a problem ! (2) The HOTEL itself..it's only one year old and it's evident. ALL is functional,the room has all quality ,modern facilities. Wifi is excellent,room is cleaned on request,lift good, if needs be .The buffet breakfast..outstanding..fresh foods and PLENTY of it. Great variety (included in the great rate..excellent 'value for money'. ). (3) LOCATION ..: Great location as well. A short 20 minute walk to all you need..or 8 minutes with tuk-tuk. "The Square Hotel" deserves every praise and it is really the staff themselves who make this happen. (No wonder good reviews are received ). The Hotel owes the staff its good reputation. Highly recommend "The Square Hotel" to anyone.It really did surpass ALL expectations .

I liked everything about "The Square Hotel " and defy anyone to find otherwise. Simply because there is NOTHING to dislike !

A Gem of a Hotel Situated set back off the Main Highway into Kampot. It offers all the services you need. It has a wonderful Restaurant and rooftop bar spanning the top two floors.The staff throughout the hotel are so friendly and helpful. Tan Lika especially who manages the Restaurant and bar ensures all guests are well fed and happy. The breakfasts are splendid with plenty of choice and the food generally is top notch at very fair prices. Next door is a very convenient laundry, there is a gym and massage room.The rooms are spotlessly clean and beds very comfortable. I had a wonderful stay here and hope to return again.

The bed was so big and comfortable, the hotel offered a turn down service every day if you would like it, the staff were very helpful. View from breakfast was lovely! We didn't use the spa/gym so can't comment on that. Hotel is about 5min ride away from centre of town - easy to jump in a grab or tuktuk.

Rooms are a little more run down than in the pictures and we were woken by lots of noise on 2nd level. We wanted to hire mopeds however they had run out so I would suggest trying to organise these with more notice.
