Location is perfect. Close to the beach. Diving centre and motorbike rental are near by. I have got everything there. Accommodation was very good. Nice and clean. Staff was very nice and helpful. Food was very delicious. I had a good time.

I didn't like going back home ( to Europe). I wish I could stay there forever.

Owner is sweet and you can walk to beach, few places to reach on foot. Rent scooters. The atmosphere here is laid back and easy for couples and solo female backpackers. the owner restaurant, Mermaids, is on site for drinks, food, just sit read book, watch world go by. they have vegetarian section from each main dish, the veggie Penang curry was lovely, had it two nights in a row. Would feel very safe as female solo traveller here. Huts are basic, bed and one table, one socket at side of double bed, ( if couple with lots of gadgets would be problem maybe, as the other sockets by table over heated the recharge, so was only one socket! ) bed clean and very comfortable, slept really well with the sounds of nature around. The garden is pretty to sit on wooden slated bench and watch world go by. The shower naturally for the set up here is low water pressure, but you can get clean at a tepid temperature, but others might want more creature comforts.

No mesh windows or enclosed eaves in bathroom, so we had some jungle insect visitors, along with mosquito’s, especially with light on. No hanging space, two wooden hooks either side of room wasn’t enough for us personally, we are only back packing with small rucksacks, but ha we coped. Also No fridge, so if you are wanting to have water/foods(kept costs down) avoid ants you can’t really . the refill of bottled water I question is filter, as I saw the young waitress filling water bottles at taps , the tap could have been from bottles but I wasn’t sure , so we brought bottles

I was a guest at Mermaids for a week. thailand is not unknown to me, I spent about a year here. The reviews of Mermaid are 80 to 90 % positive and I can only agree. I have read one or two critical comments in the reviews, but sorry: who is bothered by barking dogs? who complains about ‘brown water in the toilet’? who expects the beds to be made 5 times a day? these are tourists who would be better off booking a package deal with a flight and hotel in a 4 star resort. I spent 3 weeks on Koh kood - one of them at mermaid - and I can only recommend mermaids. Very charming complex, pretty bungalows, well-kept garden, a popular restaurant, the staff is attentive and helpful, of course, sometimes there are small misunderstandings and awkwardness, but that's just part of it if you just want a well-kept home with a well-functioning ac. anyone who complains about the price of 30 to 40 usd here has NOT understood a lot about thailand. My compliments to the hosts, I have only seen satisfied guests. And: No, I have no shares in this resort. PS: what I particularly appreciated: Koh Kood is not cheap. If you don't want to book an overpriced hotel right on the beach, go to the mermaid. you hire a scooter and in 15 minutes you're on the most beautiful beaches in the north and south - strategically perfectly located.

If you manage to ask for a room cleaning every two or three days, you're great. if not, no problem.

Location just 5 minutes walk from a nice beach. Clear sea water. Service in Mermaid was very good and friendly. Manager gave attention to all clients. Houses with little terrace are very cosy and nice . Very nice big peaceful garden.

Nothing pricewise everything okay

Very cozy and high attention to detail guest area/restaurant with super kind hosts! Felt very welcomed and taken care of, the owners are always up for a chat and a helping hand. Big variation of dishes on the menu, super delicious and authentic pizza out of a stone oven. The bungalows look like they’re getting constantly maintained and therefore in a good shape. Minimalistic yet sufficient amenities, fan and A/C available. Didn’t feel like I was missing something. Free water and coffee available 24/7, what do you want more ?

Individual ensuite cabins Simple but great aircon and very comfortable bed .. restaurant was very nice when it opened. Accommodating to dietary restrictions if you ask. Staff were very friendly and helped us out a lot when we missed our transfer taxi. Only 5 minute walk from wonderful natural beach and a few minutes walk to some good restaurants chaiyo being our favourite due to fab food a short walk up the hill from the beach

Lovely gardens but some cabins had nicer outlook than others. A screen on the balcony of no 15 would be a nice touch and some shelves for clothes in the room would be great.. wi fi was a bit erratic in cabin otherwise we would have given a 10

Very cute bungalows, friendly staff, good shakes, adorable puppies.

It was perfect! The bungalows are small, but for us was perfect. They have a restaurant at the reception, which was really convinient. There are dogs on the territory. They were really friendly and everyone played with them. The accommodation is 5 minutes away (by walk) from the beach, which is again, really nice. They rent scooters. A bit expensive (300 baht/day), I saw with 250 in another places, but it is more convinient, if you are staying there, to rent from them. They also offer helmets, which is really important. The stuff is very helpful and nice.

Nothing bad. Everything was perfect! The only bad thing is that we couldn’t stay there for one month😂

Beautiful accommodation, in a really good location on the island, and staff are exceptionally friendly. Close to a very nice beach, though it is one thats a bit busier than others. We also ate at the on site restaurants a few times, where the food was delicious, and there is free water, coffee & tea for the guests whenever you want it. We felt very comfortable & looked after - thank you! :)

The only thing to mention is that we had one of the bungalows that was a bit further from the restaurant, so the wifi didn't always work in the room.

The premises are directly on a small road but it does not matter at all, on the contrary, it feels like arriving in a small oasis of blue and white while remaining connected to what goes on outside. The food was exceptional and the little shop offered surprisingly nice clothes and souvenirs. The staff was very friendly and our kids felt right at home. The bungalows are simple but squeaky clean and offer outside space to sit, dry clothes etc. Small details like free cold drinking water in glass bottles to avoid plastic waste and the beautiful decorations made this a truly remarkable stay. The next beach is about 5 minutes walk away but with a moped some of the islands best beaches are reachable as well as the waterfalls. We went on foot and even with kids it took us about 45 minutes only (one way). We’d love to come back!
