Beautiful old fashioned B&B with a little historic charm and very easy going hosts. The included breakfast was delicious and healthy - absolutely what we wanted and needed. Room was very large, comfy bed and had a lovely old style ensuite. Free parking and nice little tables to sit out at for breakfast or sundowner. Situated in a lovely residential area (albeit on a busy road) a short-ish walk from downtown.
It's an old building and we chose that specifically to experience something different from generic hotels and to meet some real locals knowing it had some drawbacks. The things that irked me in a first world problem sort of way were the the noisy air con unit, (lucky it had air con!) and the fact that the tub did not have a raised shower head. Again, we knew of all these things in advance so no surprises or disappointment with our choice. The only actual issue we had with the place was finding the entrance off the laneway the first evening, a little sign somewhere would have been handy.

Gorgeous property and very conveniently located, close to the lake and the waterfront. Breakfast was healthy and homemade with freshly-baked bread every morning! I was slightly worried about the bathroom but it turned out to be incredibly clean. I also never had to wait to use it and I didn't feel like anyone was ever waiting on me. It was fun to have breakfast with some of the other guests and hear their stories. And of course, Jimmy and Cheryl are wonderful hosts and lovely people, and staying with them felt like staying with relatives (the ones you like haha!).
The parking lot was a little tight but it's hardly worth mentioning! I was worried about the ambulance sirens given that the hospital is right across the street but I didn't hear them at all (they're not supposed to turn on the sirens within a two-block radius anyway).

Beautiful house. Stayed in the Bosc room. Nicely decorated. James provided a wonderful continental breakfast. Homemade bread! Homemade jam! Big pot of coffee! The muesli was nice served with fresh fruit, yoghurt and a dash of coconut. James also gave excellent suggestions for our one night in Kelowna. Went for a swim and then to the lakeside for a nice dinner. Situated in a beautiful neighbourhood filled with other heritage homes.

I almost don't want to give them a phenomenal review because I don't want the secret to get out!! The hosts Cheryl and Jimmy were so kind, accommodating and fun. The location is ideal with easy walks to stylish shops, restaurants, and the beach. The rooms are well appointed and the Stirling house is just beautiful with lots of historic items. We lucked out and stayed during a holiday weekend and got three outstanding hot breakfasts, we even stayed longer than planned just to enjoy the final morning on the covered patio. But it was terrible and you shouldn't stay there...wink, wink!!
Honestly, it is hard to come up with something...but Sterling house is located by the Hospital, some people might find the helicopters landing on the hospital roof all day (day only) troublesome, I quite enjoyed watching them land during the limited time we spent at the house during the day.

Cheryl and Jimmy were very hospitable and accommodating. I valued that they took the time to show us around the property when we arrived, and asked us what our dietary needs were so they could accommodate us for breakfast. It felt very special to have a customized breakfast, made just for us each morning. Cheryl and Jimmy were there for us whenever we needed and super friendly and welcoming. It was quick to feel like we were staying with family rather than just any bed and breakfast. It was a wonderful and comforting experience. The home itself is a beautiful heritage home that's been well maintained and loved. We were very lucky to get the largest room with private bathroom, which was great. The location is only a 20-30 minute walk to downtown, which was a blessing during Canada Day when there was no way to get a parking spot downtown.
The only thing I didn't like was in the private bathroom in our room, there isn't a shower, rather a bathtub with a shower wand. It was difficult to try to shower in a tub with just the handheld wand and no shower curtain (I was worried about splashing water all over the floor each time I bathed). However, this didn't take away from the experience and enjoyment of the stay.

Very warm welcome by the hosts, despite us running late. The house has it's very unique charm and class - which we liked very much. Wished we could stay for longer... Breakfeast was excellent - all hand made and organic. Coffee was very good. Hosts gave us a recommendation for our route to Harrison which we followed and enjoyed very much.
All good, nothing to complain.

very comfortable and within walking distance of the city centre / resturants
we didnt know it was a shared bathroom until we arrived. Appraently this was the fault of Booking .com and not the guest house. Private facilities are available for some rooms, but we reqested the balcony room which doesnt have a private bathroom

Friendly owners, especially Jim. Spacious bedroom Good quality bedding Quirky bathroom Very good quality towels Very high quality breakfast ingredients.
Being requested to remove shoes on arrival. I accept the owners wish to protect hardwood floors etc, but this is quite an inconvenience. Going through living area to access bedroom

The Booking.com website should make it very clear that some rooms share a bathroom. The room description on your website buried this information in small print so inadvertently we booked a room with shared bathroom. Fortunately our host was able to find a room where we did have a private bathroom.

A quaint historic house with both the pros and cons that come with that - great history & personality but squeaky floors/stairs, etc.! The garden was beautiful (but sadly all the wildfire smoke meant we could not enjoy it as much as we would have wanted to!). The room was well appointed. There was no coffee maker but plenty of coffee downstairs in the guest area. Breakfasts were good and the hosts were friendly & attentive! We were able to safely store our bikes and they created a yummy keto biscuit for our breakfast!
The heat wave (37 degrees!) meant the room we were in did not really cool down despite the air conditioning unit.
