the staff there is very friendly. i got hot water from the restaurant's staff and they were friendly. when there was something wrong with the shower door, the staff offered us to change to another room. My husband fell down on a trail and when we returned from the emergency on the morning of the day when we should check out, the staff lent us crunches and offered us late check-out without any cost when we returned from the emergency on the morning of the day when we should check out. They are extremely nice!

the shower door couldn't close properly and the faucet of the sink was too short so that water just flowed down from the sink to the door or the restroom. it is better with the second room. Hope that the hotel can fix that room. (hope that the staff reported that.)

The staff were all courteous, professional friendly and pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable, and the pricing was the best in town. The location was close to shopping and dining, all walking distance. The night stroll after dinner, a walk to a bakery in the crisp morning, and occational stops at historical monuments throughout the downtown was very memorable.

I had a low back pain so the bed was a light bit too soft for me but all my family members loved the comfort level of the beds. We loved our stay at Double Tree.

We liked the location and the View looking out over the working Harbour was fun . The cookies on arrival were a nice treat , but were never offered them again even though you could smell them every day 😋 It was nice to have our room serviced everyday !

Having to pay extra for parking seems a bit much seeing there really are no other options to park elsewhere. We booked with breakfast included , which was a nice option . The only thing was you only could pick from two options and seeing we spent a week there it got a bit boring . We are not, sure if it was the coffee or just us , but it was Terrible in the room and the restaurant!

The room was modern, very clean, and much more spacious than I was expecting. The bed was comfy and bathroom was very modern/clean. The staff at the front desk were incredibly nice and helpful. The hotel is just outside of the hustle and bustle of the main downtown (approx. 10 min walk) and a very short walk to Signal Hill. They actually do give you warm chocolate chip cookies on arrival; I would definitely to those visiting St. John’s.

The parking garage is undergoing renovations which means all cars enter/exit through the same entrance. This caused some small jams, but generally not a big deal. The parking garage is very terribly laid out (not the hotel’s fault!) and there are very few parking spaces above ground. Parking can be challenging but not impossible with any car larger than a sedan.

I chose to stay at the Doubletree for the views, and I wasn't disappointed. I had a corner room with partial city and harbour views, and it was great. Room was stylish and clean, bed was comfortable, and staff were friendly and helpful - although I wasn't offered any complimentary cookies when I checked in. Breakfast at the hotel restaurant was great. There are also a few cool, indy bars and cafes nearby such as Bannerman Brewery and the Toslo that are worth visiting. Overall it was a great stay.

The hotel is perched on a steep hill so accessibility might be an issue for someone with mobility issues trying to enter or exit the hotel on foot. It is located on the northern end of Water Street - about a 5 min walk away from where the main stretch of restaurants and shops are. This is fine, except the stretch of the street past the Alt Hotel and the Doubletree is basically empty and gets quiet and dark at night - so individuals/women travelling alone may wish to avoid that street when it gets dark out for safety reasons - though I personally never felt unsafe. However, one street north is Duckworth which is lined with cool indy stores all the way to the Doubletree - so it provides a useful and more enjoyable alternative route to the hotel in the evenings.

There is great attention to detail with the cleanliness of the rooms. The housekeeping team are exceptional, always offering a warm hello and making you feel welcome. The beds are very comfortable and I like that the showers are well equipped with re-fillable bottles (I personally prefer this in hotels over the mini bottles, well done for having this environmentally conscious option). Everything was great!

The coffee in the rooms was not the best

Excellent location, wonderful on-site Italian restaurant, lovely decor, and very nice room with super comfy bed!!! 😍 It was everything we could have needed at a good price. Even used the fitness centre, and that was great, too! The "icing on the cake" was the fresh-baked cookie upon check-in. Yum!!! 🥰

My only recommendation would be to have some bottled water in the rooms, for the coffee maker and for drinking. It's an inconvenience to have to leave the hotel to find water. Might be worthwhile adding dispensers to the ice machines next time they get upgraded and then have a re-usable water container in the room. We've had that in Mexico resorts and it worked great.

Great location - easily walkable to Water and George streets, as well as Signal Hill. Good local amenities nearby - coffee shops, restaurants and such. DoubleTree was great, except the television issue described below.

We had two stays - Aug 1-2, then again Aug 8-12. The first stay we had no television at all. Second stay we had limited television until Day 3, when a technician finally arrived to fix it. Had asked 3 times. Also, you should subscribe to a channel that plays Blue Jays baseball games.

The location works best for us as it's not in a too busy area but still near the downtown core. The staff are nice and helpful to answer my questions. I also like that they have complimentary coffee in the room for guests. Complimentary bottled water would even be better! These extra small things usually add up to make a positive difference.

Location was great - in the middle of downtown and Signal Hill. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The rooms were well equipped and had a cosy design. Bed was super comfy and there was tons of room for post hike stretching. Would totally recommend!

Would have loved a pool but I get it doesn't work for every location
