Absolutely loved the carefully and skilfully made breakfast each day, served in beautiful surroundings. Bed and bedding were luxurious, and rooms are so tastefully appointed. The artwork throughout the house is stunning, as are the many fine pieces of furniture and rugs, lamps and the like. A pleasure to be in such an atmosphere.

A third-floor room without an elevator is quite a chore when there are mobility limitations. But given the age and historic character of the house this is not easily fixed.

The beds and pillows are extremely comfortable which I appreciated very much because I came down with a cold and needed to stay in bed one of the days I was there. The breakfasts were delicious and Mary was also very accommodating for my needs.

The wifi reception in the room was poor so I had to use cell data which, in turn, ended up causing issues with my cell phone data plan overage.

Mary is an absolute gem and an exceptional cook. She made sure I was well taken care of during my stay, very helpful, with lots of advice on getting around the city. Her breakfasts were perfect both mornings, I couldn’t have asked for more. The room was the cleanest I’ve ever stayed in, well stocked, and had the most gorgeous linens, towels, and bathrobe.

Parking is a bit tricky as it’s on a busy road (but the location is perfect for walking downtown), and I would have preferred black out curtains on all windows (that sun sure does rise early!)

The Ryan Mansion is a gorgeous historic property. The rooms are beautiful and the daily breakfast provided was delicious. Mary was friendly and helpful and has a great sense of humor! Would definitely recommend!

We loved everything. The breakfast was incredible and the property was unique, perfectly located, and gorgeous. Mary was welcoming, helpful, and took such good care of us. Her warmth and kindness made us feel at home. Robert was a gracious host and had excellent recommendations for what to see and where to eat. We had a fabulous time and can’t wait to return to Newfoundland where we will absolutely stay at The Ryan Mansion.

The home was beautiful, as well as, the surroundings. The breakfast was delicious!

I didn’t like being asked whether the tub would be used. I also didn’t like not being able to get stuff in room, when check in time was unavailable due to personal reasons. I would think at this price….you could make arrangements.

Great place and a beautiful mansion, the whole house is very clean. But above all Mary was the highlight extremely helpful and always available to lend a hand!

Too expensive The TV did not have cable, limited channels for a high price Breakfast was very limited and was not buffet, did not even serve bacon It's a little far to downtown centre when you're on your way back, it's a fair hike up! No lift and No help to get your suitcase up! Be prepared to lift your own suitcase up the stairs especially if your staying in the top floor.

I loved everything about my stay here. The property is stunning - I was a tourist in my temporary home taking pics and looking around. The breakfast's were second to none and Mary is a true gem of a person. I stayed here for a conference at the conference centre and it was a nice walk (10-15 min depending if going down or up the hill), or super short taxi ride. The room is very comfortable; bed, bath, in room coffee - all was great. I loved the personal touch that Mary and Robert provided with some history of the property and stories.

I was sad to know that Mary wouldn't come home with me when I had to go.

The BEST BnB we stayed in Newfoundland! Everything met and exceeded our expectations. The properties is very well maintained with tasteful decorations and spacious guest rooms. Our beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the big and bright bathroom with great water pressure in the shower. Mary made us delicious breakfast, and we enjoyed our conversations with Robert! We will definitely come back and stay again!

The fragrance in our room was a bit strong, but we were able to move the diffuser to the hall way and open the window.

Our stay at Ryan Mansion was amazing. Our host, Robert, was friendly and welcoming. He gave us suggestions for things to do and went out of his way for us several times. The property itself is beautiful and our room was immaculate. The breakfast was delicious and different each day. The location is close to nearly everything we had on our itinerary.
