Honestly, I do not know why this property is listed as a 2 star on booking- this accommodation is a solid 3 star, even 4 star in several ways! I would highly recommend Carriage Ridge Resort for a weekend getaway, or as accommodation for activities in the area. The grounds are beautiful and well kept, there is several BBQ areas, a playground, a campfire pit, a gym, an arcade with a billiard table. The indoor pool is lovely and warm in the low 80s, and the hot tub is almost too hot! Very relaxing! Our room was clean and very spacious, the kitchenette had a fridge and microwave - and a blender, toaster, and coffee maker! The property is not zoned to offer food, bit absolutely you could bring continental food items and prepare them in the room - there is even a cutting board, knives, utensils, wine glasses, etc. The bed was extremely comfy, and they provided us with a half dozen pillows, as well as additional linens. Also, we were on the first floor and had a lovely walk out patio with Adirondack chairs to enjoy the forest views! We will definitely be staying here again, and I would like to thank the staff for making us feel welcome!

It's a small thing - but the couch was covered in glitter. Obviously very hard to remove, we put a sheet down - maybe a bit more attention payed, and a quick vacuum done. Not a big deal in any way!

Love the area. Lots to see and do in the region. We like the full kitchen, access to gym and pool. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Unit was well stocked with kitchen needs.

No restaurant / cafe / snack bar on site, but hopefully that will change in the future. Outdoor pool would be nice, but indoor pool was spacious. Unfortunately there were many kids the weekend we were there that were running up and down the stairs and onto rear balconies playing tag until 11 pm.

The pool was extremely clean and well managed with amazing staff members, the rooms were in phenomenal condition and were unkept nicely as well. The area is safe and family friendly with a playground accessible for children at any point in time! Over all, extremely beautiful and accommodating space and will be staying again.

I wish there were more activities or events on the resort, i.e a volleyball court, basketball court, fire area for s’mores, there should also be a shuttle or bus to take you to the bigger area where the main events are as Travel is a little bit difficult when going back and fourth between horseshoe valley and the main resort where you’re staying

We enjoyed how quiet it was,large rooms,bathroom was also big very nice shower,lots closets for storage,the washer and dryerto wash any clothing in the next room the kitchen is perfect balcony with chairs to relax just overall very good layout very clean comfortable to me can't get any better then staying here now that I've spent a night their I will always stay their when I'm in that area and needing a place to stay we were both happy with everything thank you so much and you will be seeing us in the next couple of months and also in the summer...

Everything! loved the fact that they had a pool, playground for my son and even a fire pit which is above and beyond but the rooms were dirty. Dusty, left over food on the floor from previous guest and hair on towels

The location is perfect and beautiful, the option for a gym even though small is great. The pool was nice but was closed the first day I was there. The rooms are a bit dated but functional overall.

Rooms were a bit dated with small tvs, the times for the check in/front desk and gym area could be extended to earlier and later. The bathrooms in the pool facility didn’t have any soap in one of the hand pumps.

The hotel is just 3 km away from the ski slopes at Horseshoe Valley

There was no mat at the entrance (neither outside, nor inside) to wipe your boots of sand, snow and slush. You have to enter with dirty booths, then after taking them off, you step on the mess they left on the floor, and carry it throughout, on the soles of your feet, and into the bed, eventually. Also, I noticed the phone was removed from the room.

From check in to check out this place did not disappoint. Friendly staff let us check in early, very spacious rooms with sink and and everything you need; toaster, coffee maker, ceramic mugs, cutlery, spatulas, dish soap, new sponge, full paper towel roll, large bathroom, king bed with queen pull out sofa that was memory foam. A true home away from home.

Having a restaurant on site, but Crazy Horse in Horseshoe valley is a 5 min drive away.

Seems like there may be a bug problem, crawlers in bathroom. Definitely need to up grade to modern electronic devices. Re TV internet access to run personal stream service. I did not realize or read that I would need to climb stairs. My fault.. Old hockey wounds knees,, made the climb difficult

the room was 90* when we arrived,thermostat batteries had extra tin foil wedged in to make connection?wtf?complained right away but was over a hour till maintenance man arrived,he began to explain the real problem as to why the temperature was so hot,it was shut off valves in furnace room left open!another wtf.took hours for room to become manageable to stay even with air conditioning on and windows open.beside all the animal feces on the decks everywhere we managed to have a fun time.thankfully it wasn’t busy and seemed to have the resort to ourselves.
