The hosts at La Gentilhommière (family run) have been extremely friendly and helpful, answering questions prior to our arrival, making us familiar with the facilities, proposing trips and restaurants and preparing fresh dinner and breakfast upon request. The hostel offers many extras, such as a fully equipped barbecue area, seating groups at the water with open (gas) fire and various comfortable armchairs and seating groups that are arranged in a smart way to provide privacy from other guests. For dinner the offer consists of a selection of freshly made pizzas that can be ordered until 5pm and there is a menu of breakfast choices that need to be selected the prior evening together with a timing request. We stayed with a family of four (daughters 16 and 18) in a room that was spacious enough, especially because you spend most of the time outdoor anyway. The room and the bathroom was very clean and looked freshly renovated. The entire house has a very welcoming feel and the hosts have clearly spend a lot of thought on providing a comfortable and enjoyable place to stay.

Amazing kindness of owners :) Family suit very large , split on two floors . It can easily accommodate 6 people. Veranda with direct view on the river ... simply wow. Fully equipped kitchen, washer/ dryer . Option to order breakfast ( didn't try but looks great). Option to order pizza ( tried ,very tasty! ) For those discouraged by seeing road beside ... river hitting rocks makes more noise , so you don't hear cars pasing by:)

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The facilities were fantastic, with great outdoor space for us to use. Breakfast was delicious with exceptional pastries at a reasonable price. I don't know where they get their pastries but they seem freshly made and the cinnamon bun was the best I've ever had. The room itself was very clean, comfortable, and well furnished.

The hot water can be a bit limited if you have multiple people showering in a row. Saint Simeon itself is not the most exciting location to stay in.

Absolutely loved it. The hotel is set in a picturesque location with a charming creek next to it. There's a private rocky path that leads down to the shoreline, simply breathtaking views looking out to the sea. The property also features an outdoor BBQ area, fully equipped with everything you might need. The place is exceptionally well maintained; it’s clear the owners take great pride in keeping everything clean and well cared for. Highly recommended!

So much to say, location itself is perfect! Surrounded by the sounds of the rapids and the beautiful view of the water. Greeted by the incredible and warm owners upon your arrival, attentive to your every need. The rooms are great and quite large. As well the beds are comfortable and everything is so incredibly clean.

My brother and I were overwhelmed with how fantastic the Motel Gentilhommière was! We stayed for 5 nights whilst exploring the surrounding national parks, for which the property is in the perfect location. The team at the Motel were outstanding and incredibly kind, making us feel very comfortable and doing everything possible to enhance our stay. The facilities at the property were also amazing, as we visited in summer we had use of the outside kitchen so spent our evenings BBQing with a beer by the river, or sitting by the fire pit reading. Everything about this property was great, thank you so much to the team. We'd definitely visit again!

The owners were not only hospitable and kind but they have thought of everything to make your stay fantastic. The attention to details is like no other place we have stayed. They offer a fully equipped outdoor kitchen, relaxing retreat, amazing grounds with a variety of activities but what is truely amazing is how they anticipate your every need. Just after a short rain the owners were outside drying off all the chairs so that you had a peaceful dry place to sit and take in the views! They offer morning pastries that are incredible! The rooms were newly renovated and immaculately clean! We will be back! Thank you for such an incredible stay!

The most vivid impression of our entire stay in Canada! Many thanks to the lovely hosts for their hospitality! Large room, perfect cleanliness, cute design, comfortable beds, everything you need! The view from the room is a postcard! There is a garden house where it is ideal to enjoy morning coffee or evening tea by candlelight in cozy blankets! Our biggest mistake - we only stayed one night... We didn't have time to use the fully equipped BBQ kitchen and enjoy our time here! We saw whales!!! Thanks for your advice on where to take the tour! Thank you for finding our document wallet! We will dream to come again! God bless you!

This place is really exceptional!!! It feels like the owner treats the guests like family members ☺️ Rooms are so cozy, clean and comfortable! Wonderful location right on the bank of a small river! Everything for the guests to enjoy and relax: gazebo with swings, muskoka chairs and hammocks, playground and volleyball net, bbq and more! Didn’t want to leave and want to come back!

From the serene and scenic surroundings to the warm and welcoming hosts, everything about this hotel is worth every penny spent. The hosts were very nice and cooperative, treating their guests like family. They went the extra mile to ensure that their guests had a comfortable stay. It was my 30th birthday when we were checking out. The hosts celebrated the day with me and my friends and gifted me a bottle of red wine, on departure. This shows a lot about how much they care about their guests. The hotel also had some great outdoor facilities, like the bbq grill, hammocks, outdoor sitting area to enjoy the majestic st Lawrence river. These added an extra layer of fun to our stay. The rooms were very clean and organised, which made for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Overall, Motel Gentilhommiere is an excellent place, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, serene, and scenic hotel near the St Lawrence River.
