Overall, I had a good experience at the Hotel. I arrived earlier, and they let me in before check-in time without any extra charge. The staff was well-trained and provided excellent customer service. All hotel dependencies were clean, identified and safe. The breakfast offered typical Caribbean food with local and fresh products. The Kuzina restaurant, on the 15th floor, is a specialist in Japanese food and is a good option for lunch or dinner. Another good option for spending the night with friends is 51 Sky Bar, located on the 51st floor. Besides the view, they have some appetizers and a variety of local and international drinks. I had a virgin Mojito and Cheese Deditos, which was terrific. The pool is attractive to everyone and has an infinite view that mixes with the ocean!

The only thing I recommended to them was a sign for the flush toilet in the bathrooms on the 15th floor and social rooms. At first, you don't know that you need to hold your hand for 5-7 seconds in front of the system until the flush works.

Beautiful swimming pool and views from the restaurants and rooms

Restaurant has an international menu, we missed trying traditional Colombian food. Restaurant Prices were very expensive for what they offered. (Similar to NY prices). Restaurant service in the swimming pool area was very slow. When leaving the hotel, after check out, doorman stopped us asking as several times if we had payed before leaving, which was highly uncomfortable. The beach in front of the hotel does not have hotel tents, you must rent and you can be harassed by vendors. We did not feel safe about going to the beach for that reason, we only went once.

From the moment we walked in we where greeted with Smiles and a Welcoming drink which was Nice. Everyone was just so Welcoming and I loved the Vibe as soon as I Check in. The Breakfast was Amazing so much to pick from Fruit to Omelette to Pancakes and ofcourse Colombian Breakfast. The host in the front was always eager to help us with any questions from getting Tours, to getting a Safe Taxi since it was only me & my friend only, to recommending the best Restaurants in town. The Views from our rooms where breathtaking as we where facing the Ocean and seeing the Sunsent set was just Magical. and The pool area was Beautiful & the Sky rise club inside the hotel was a bonus with Beautiful views at night. We will definitely be back to this hotel, if I can give them 5 Starsss… I Would!!! Very Cheap 5-8 minutes Taxi/Uber drive to downtown & night life. Anyone coming to Cartegena please stay in this hotel, you will not regret it!!! Restaurantes you must try is 7 Cielos food was great & has a Sky View Terrace of Cartegena with live music. 6 minutes away from hotel. Also, in town there was another Restaurant called Mar de las Antillas which is located in downtown Cartegena then you can walk 4 minutes into down down at night to all the night life then take a Rumba Chiva Bus which was Amazing!!! Made sooo many Friends. Hope this Review help anyone.

I loved everything.

The hotel is in a great location. It is very modern and well-maintained. Our room has a great view and was very comfortable. The closet was spacious enough to accommodate all of our clothes. The breakfast had a lot of good options for food and beverages.

It was very minor things we didn't love about the hotel. The reasons for a 9/10 review is: #1 The wc had issues (would not flush well). We reported that but it wasn't fixed #2 The breakfast room - while very big and with a lot of staff - was packed and it tooks us a while to find a table a couple of mornings #3 Similarly, the pool gets pretty packed and we had to wait to be able to use a couple of the pool chairs Other than those relatively minor issues, it was all great.

Very comfortable bed and pillows. Excellent breakfast, you can go out to the terrace with a great view. Hot water in the shower. Complimentary water in the room. There are even scales :) Large room on the 40th floor with a gorgeous view. Excellent pool, but in the first half of the day everything is in the shade of the building. On the 51st floor there is a famous bar - for hotel guests no reservation is needed. The beach is across the road. You can take a towel by the pool, sun loungers are for cash. The sand is black volcanic and the water is dark, but warm

For some reason we didn't get a complimentary drink (we saw how other guests were treated). The hotel needs renovation, especially the glass by the pool is all in terrible cracks. The windows are all streaked and spoil the view, need washing. The beach is public and not equipped at all (no toilet, no shower, no place to wash your feet). There is a large construction site nearby, which spoils the whole beach walk. There is nothing special to do in this part of the city.

The location was great. It’s located beach front and 10mins away from the old town. The room was clean and the breakfast was good too.

The check in took 45 mins. We had to line up and waited standing. They didn’t even offer a drink or wait for our turn at the lobby sitting. It didn’t feel like 5 stars hotel at all. Our room was on 41st floor and it was flooded around the window when it rained a lot. The breakfast was good but same menu everyday. The elevator system was a bit confusing and sometimes it failed so we had to wait long time just to go up or down.

Good luxury hotel, excellent breakfast. Very clean.

I arrived around 12 noon and the reception desk told me the room would be ready by 3 pm. I returned around 4 pm and it wasn't ready. Very thin walls, the neighbours were listening to music and talking and I could not sleep. The hotel eventually changed my room after midnight. However, for changing the room the reception desk told me to wait in my initial room and a person would come to help me in a few minutes with the move. They never showed up and after a second call and half an hour later I had to personally go down to the reception desk with my luggage. When checking out I was told the receipt was going to be sent by email to me. It never arrived.

Great location away from the city hustle and bustle. Excellent size rooms and great views. Friendly staff, especially around the pool.

Breakfast felt a bit limited and the 10am close time was too early. Overcrowded at 9am with a stampede of people so not a very relaxed time for breakfast. Pool area got over crowded by early morning too so restricted your ability for sunbathing . Would have appreciated more information regarding tv channels, opening times, facilities etc

It has been many years since I visited Cartagena, this hotel met my expectations. The building, its restaurants, the pool, the spa, etc. are what a guest wants to find on their vacation. The staff that works from the guys at the front desk to the laundry guys, bellboys and the Security Director were incredibly friendly, always helping and everyone is very Professional. The unique taxi and transportation service. In general we have a nice memory of Cartagena thanks to the Hotel Estelar, Bocagrande.

To be honest the pillows and towels.

A nice hotel with high standards, and very professional staff, with several people available around the clock. They were super nice about early check-in. The facilities we used are great, including the pool area. The rooftop bar is allegedly the highest in Colombia (relative to ground and not sea level, of course) and has a splendid view, even if it's a little windy up there. The room was large and impeccably clean. The price is ok for a hotel of this kind in the area. Being in the north of Bocagrande also helps in getting to central Cartagena very quickly.

There was a somewhat consistent slight crackling noise coming from the window in our room, from the wind encountering less-than-perfect insulation presumably - nothing too bad, but slightly vexing. From upstairs, there was a really frequent sound of someone shifting around furniture or something like that, but that may have been a quirky guest (we were slightly mystified by the regularity of this noise, including late in the day when it can't conceivably have been someone making up the room). Other than that, the dinner I had at the 12th-floor restaurant was nothing to write home about, but not terrible. These are all minor points, so we didn't raise them during our stay at what we still considered to be a very good hotel.
