When I first visited Hyatt Cartegena a few years ago, what really impressed me was the breakfast experience. During the renovations and changes over the past couple of years and about 7 visits, the breakfast experience has regained its sparkle and exceptional presentation. The staff has always been the best with exceptional customer service. Yercelis was the BEST, and took care of everything. Gabriela, Fernanda and the chef Yelvis created a memorable experience from the time I checked in, till the time I had to leave to make my journey home.. I look forward to returning in a few months and I hope to see all of the staff I had the pleasure of meeting. Always a great time at this hotel, my home away from home!

Everything was great!

This was probably one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at. Before kids, we would stay at boutique hotels, but now I see the value of staying at reputable chain hotels. The Hyatt exceeded my expectations. The staff made you feel like you were royalty. They were so kind and polite and accommodating. It was clean and comfortable. We had lounge access and the food was delicious. We only had to figure out dinner because lunch and breakfast were provided. They even had a play room for our son called Camp Hyatt. He really enjoyed it. The pool was so relaxing. The room service food was excellent so was the restaurant. Staying there truly made me feel like I was on vacation. I miss it already! I will definitely be coming back.

Only thing is we had to take a very short taxi ride to most things-but they did have a lot of things near by.

Huge and very clean rooms, great view of the sea and very comfortable beds. The gym was one of the best hotel gyms we’ve used and it also had a great view. The pool area is very nice and great to have 3 pools. The hotel location was good, a lot quieter than the old town but still surrounded by good local restaurants and cafés. The staff were amazing when I told them I was a bit sick, even the cleaning lady gave me more tissues and water.

Small criticisms: The hotel itself is well equipped but lacking a bit of atmosphere- the Kokau bar area, for example, was well decorated but bright white lights ruined the vibe. The coffee area outside looked into some unfinished concrete. The main disappointment was the area around the hotel, it is like a building site with uneven pavements with holes in them. The beach is full of construction materials and you get hassled by street vendors (but this is standard for Cartagena).

We stayed at the 2 Bedroom Residences and it was perfect for our family of 4. Both bedrooms were ensuite, and was at a nice size. Bathrooms were very spacious, and the living room was well furnished and big. Pool was small, but nice. No umbrellas but luckily it was not that sunny that day. Restaurant Kokau is fantastic, live music on Thu-Sat which was great, but a bit on the pricey side. Friendly staff, Good breakfast with plenty of options. Location is excellent, close to old town, right next to Bocogrande Mall, which was very useful for mini shopping and grooming. They also had plenty of food courts with many options. View - to die for!! beautiful sunset everyday right from your private balcony

Kitchen space was good, but not fully equipped. Coffee maker didn't work at all, kitchen utensils were very dirty and old, and not sufficient enough. They didn't even provide a towel nor a dustbin the kitchen, so we had use the bin in the bathrooms. Anyway, we didn't use it! Could have been useful to have a kettle in the room as well.

Overall, my experience was amazing as usual. The staff is amazing and the door greeting staff and service crew are exceptional. Everyone e is very helpful and accommodating! All of your staff on the first floor greeting travelers coming and going make for a warm, comforting and welcoming atmosphere. I truly enjoy this! They deserve recognition!

The only challenge that I have encountered on my last 3 stays was problems with check in. The staff is amazing! Always a challenge checking in due to problems with the reservation, but the staff is always trying to help. I enjoy working with Rita when she there, she is a great problem solver!

One of the nicest hotels I have stayed in, excellent value for money at 550€ for 3 nights. My friends paid substantially more and booked the Regency club rooms (which are undoubtedly better) and access to the club, for which I paid an extra 30€ a day for. The room was on the 18th floor with nice views across the harbour, it was a huge room, spotlessly clean and all the facilities one would expect from a Hyatt. I found the staff to be courteous & professional and all spoke excellent English. The drinks at the pool bar were well priced bearing in mind you are in a 5-star hotel, cheap by most 5-star standards. The only negative is the main pool was closed for renovation, but that is no one's fault, but it could have been mentioned when I confirmed the booking. That aside, an excellent 3 night stay in the wonderful Cartagena

This hotel is hands down one of the best. We had a 2 bedroom suite. It was amazing. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable. The view was amazing....the balcony was a great are to sit and relax! Loved the welcome baskets left on two different occasions. The staff was amazing and helpful with our daytrips and restaurant selection. This location is right next door to the mall.....this mall have everything you need. (from food to any items)

Only one issue: Check in was for 3pm. Our room was not ready during check in. We were not able to check in until after 7pm. The hotel did compensate us with breakfast for the week which was nice.

Everything !!! Very friendly service and welcome, in particular I want to thank the Front Desk Manager, Melissa who very gently allowed our son to access the room early and we even got a welcome gift ! I was unfortunately not able to meet her but nevertheless extend our warmest thanks to her. All other members of the staff were so friendly as well. Otherwise, very comfortable room (we had a suite), great swimming pool, excellent breakfast, beautiful setup, fantastic view from the room, centrally located in Bocagrande and not far from the Ancient City.

The hotel is well located and offers a wide range of services. It is a quick ride away from the old town and just across the beach. Rooms are quite big and everything in there is of great quality (bedding, linens, etc). The staff is extremely nice and professional and this is valid for all the staff! I have not seen anything other than smiling faces from the people holding the door for you at the entrance all the way to the cleaning staff and the receptionists. The facilities are really good but the niceness and professionalism of the staff is really what left us a mark!

You need to jump into two different elevators to travel between relevant floors - unacceptable that you cannot buy coffee at the pool bar. - some items were too expensive, especially at the pool bar - there is no single shaded place at the pool. No umbrellas or covers. Nothing. - payment policy. You cannot take anything “on the room number “ at the pool and settle at checkout, although they write down your room number.
