The distance from SJO airport is convenient and the taxi driver was familiar with the hotel. The property is secure with a locked gate and high walls. There's lots of parking space if you have a car. It has a beautiful garden and large outdoor seating areas. The room and bathroom were very clean and the beds and pillows were comfortable. The continental breakfast was nice with fresh fruit, coffee, freshly squeezed juice, and a typical local breakfast (eggs, rice & beans, and toast). The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We arrived in the evening after 9 PM and there isn't a place close by to get food, except for McDonald's a 10-minute walk, but the staff did not recommend walking there late at night. You can order food through Uber Eats but the delivery time was 30-60 minutes and the property has a locked gate managed by the staff so it's difficult to arrange food delivery late at night. If there are guests who are scheduled to arrive after the hotel restaurant is closed, I recommend the hotel offering in the booking process if guests would like to add/pay for quick / easily prepared food that can be easily stored in the hotel fridge in advance of arrival such as fruit, sandwiches, salads.

We did check out the hotel on google maps and realized it was very close to the airport so we were prepared and brought earplugs. This was really helpful as you will hear the planes landing and taking off. This is an amazing spot great value for the money and would stay here again but be prepared and bring ear plugs. By the way, most of the other hotels in the area will have the same issue, this one is better value. I have travelled to CR on a few occasions in the past.

I stay here every time I travel to/from San Jose. The family and staff are friendly, the location is easy to get to and well-known by taxi drivers, it's safe and secure, beautiful property to relax in, many restaurants nearby, and the breakfast and shuttle services are a nice treat.

This time I stayed in room 13 I believe (far right corner, second floor) and the mattress was the least comfortable I have experienced compared to other rooms I stayed in (other mattresses were better), and it would be helpful to have a second table/night stand on the other side of the bed.

The staff went above and beyond with helping us secure a taxi at 3am to the airport - very very helpful. The food at the restaurant was delicious. Finally, it was nice they had a room that fit our family of 5. The place was very secure and felt safe.

The mattresses were pretty hard and there is 1 pillow per person. They did have 1 extra pillow at the front desk which they kindly let us borrow. Being close to the airport is a blessing and a curse. It made our quick trip at 3am to catch our flight wonderful because it took no time to get there. But it also meant that it sounds like planes are flying on top of you - in the middle of the night. We did book this hotel for two separate nights -one flying into the country and one flying out. It fit out budget and had enough beds for our family. The staff was lovely and the food was delicious. It was just a bare bones room, but nothing wrong with it.

The stuff was very friendly and the rooms where clean, price was fine. Its perfect to spend the night if you have a long layover, instead of waiting at the airport. Free shuttle service with a third party taxi company is provided during the morning to the Airport.

No shuttle service during the night from Airport, check in after 11pm is 10 dollars more, and the breakfast was pretty basic, continental style. No buffet to have in mind. I think that if they could provide shuttle service 24/7 more customers will chose to stay here, breakfast should be more variable.

The property is a beautiful, mature, tropical setting unexpected so close to the airport. It is a gated premise so it is very safe. The grounds are meticulously maintained. Pool is refreshing, clean and the outdoor setting is cozy and relaxing. It is an older hotel so rooms are not luxurious. They are very dated but adequate and comfortable. It does not claim to be an upscale hotel but certainly for the price it is very reasonable. The on site restaurant has a typical breakfast of eggs, rice and beans, and delicious fresh fruit. Dinners are also very good. What I think sets this place apart is the exceptional staff. They are very accommodating and will not hesitate to help in any way they can. I would give 10 stars for them. About 10 minutes to airport with shuttle provided makes it a great place to stay the night or two before your flight.

So many people have laptops and although there is a table in some rooms there is not a chair. When asked the staff brought a chair for me. They are no restaurants or other places within walking distance. There are very small local about a half mile or so but it is lacking sidewalks and safe areas to walk. So don’t expect to walk around the neighborhood. It’s about a 40 minute drive to the city of San Jose and traffic is very heavy. Taxis and Uber are readily available.

Great proximity to the airport. Great breakfast, including fruit, gallo pinto, eggs, and bread. We also ate dinner at the hotel and it was excellent. The best part of our stay was the incredible staff at the hotel. Everyone was so friendly, helpful, and kind. They accommodated our dog and helped us find a vet for her. They stored our dog’s huge crate used to fly her to Costa Rica. Beautiful garden with lots of trees. Nice pool area.

Close to the SJO airport, taxi would could cost up to 10 US dollars. Beautiful grounds with nice flowers, birds, some wildlife. The breakfast was very tasty. I had no hairdryer in our room but needed it as the morning was windy and not so warm in the early hours and 1 girl from the staff just let me use hers. Very good customer service. Nice pool and sun loungers. We had our rent-a-car delivered to their car park the day before with no problem. Secure parking. Would recommend!

There were quite few mosquitos on arrival in the room so first thing we did was to kill them. But I guess that would come with the territory. No hairdryer in the room, but that was minor, as long as it is possible to get one at the reception.

We needed an airport hotel for an overnight stay, it is close to the airport so you can hear the bigger jets but that didn’t disturb our sleep. Friendly staff, pool to have a dip in and nice evening meal. Included free breakfast was great as was the complimentary lift to the airport the following morning.

Not much, there was a group of school kids staying and you could hear them joking around as they walked by as the outside corridor was next to the bedroom window. This didn’t carry on into the night so not really an issue.

I was looking for a hotel close to the airport that was not part of a multinational chain. I think I found it in Brillasol, though I don't actually know who the owners are. We arrived about an hour earlier than the official check-in time and were graciously welcomed by the staff and permitted to check in without waiting. We then spent a few lovely hours by the pool. Our room was basic but we lacked for nothing and very much appreciated the MUCH lower cost than at the chain hotels near the airport. Overall, I highly recommend staying at Brillasol on the way in or out of the country.

We set our alarms for 4am to catch Brillasol's shuttle to the airport. One complaint: I was awakened about 3:40 by plumbing and other noises, very possibly from the adjacent room where the shuttle driver(s) may have been staying. This was not a great start for a very long day of travel. (However, our shuttle driver was superb.) One more complaint: We had been hoping for a delicious meal of Costa Rican food on our last night in Costa Rica, after a month of mostly cooking for ourselves. Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed. I strongly suggest that Brillasol change up its menu and aim higher.
