The staff were really friendly, esp Joseph who showed me the owl location and found an excellent beetle! Nice gardens to walk around which was fended off so safe even at night. Easy access to the airport (around 10 minutes with no traffic). Hotel was clean and well equipped. Free transfers which was very welcome. Breakfast was included too which was basic but good quality.

For us, it was a little noisy. You could hear people walking above and talking outside/around. We were placed right next to the pool which a family decided to use (not quietly) at 6am. That being said, the remainder of the guests seemed respectful and we didn’t have many noise issues overnight. Also, we are aware that people rise early in Costa Rica so maybe we should have done so too and joined in with the pool party!!!!!

The staff will do everything to help out and ensure you have a confortable stay. They picked us up from the airport, booked our car rental, booked our rickets to visit the volcano and even lent us their uber account. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is good and well priced, tasty, varied and good quality. The restaurant, pool and garden area are pleasant and have a homey feel.

Beautiful Oasis in San Jose, we got in at midnight and the security guard let us into our room. We checked in the next morning. Great place for late arrival from San Jose airport. The grounds are safe and spectacular! The breakfast I. The morning was delicious and authentic Costa Rican food with excellent coffe and fresh squeezed orange juice. Highly recommend “with you rental”service too. They picked us up from the airport at midnight and took us to our hotel and then picked us up from the hotel in the morning and drive us to the car rental.

My wife and I arrived mid-day on a Sunday when the restaurant was closed. Isabella at the check-in counter approached the kitchen about offering us some lunch options which was very kind. We both enjoyed a grilled chicken salad. The next morning, the airport shuttle driver was delayed arriving to work due to traffic congestion. The receptionist that morning (didn't get her name) arranged for an Uber to take us to the airport at the hotel's expense. The grounds were lovely and quiet with lots of birds. We were very satisfied with our stay.

Beautiful little property tucked away in San Jose. Close to airport. We had a very short stay here as we had some changes in travel plans. They were so accommodating to us since it was a very last minute booking and we arrived at 3 in the morning. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The on site pool was lovely and refreshing. Breakfast was really delicious. There were a lot of beautiful birds onsite and the staff were kind to point out a little owl too! Everyone was so kind and helpful here. It was a nice place to start our journey from and wished we could have stayed longer!

Nothing I did not like

Beautiful grounds with landscaped gardens and some bird life. Lovely and peaceful apart from the odd airplane (but that's because you're near to the airport). They have a reliable hourly airport transfer bus which is simple to arrange and arrived on time. Staff are friendly and helpful.

The location is a bit awkward. Its very near to the airport but, depending on traffic, the journey can take 15 - 40 mins. Tours and experiences won't collect you from this area so you become reliant on taxis to get to and from the airport for collection.

Nice hotel, perfectly acceptable as the first hotel when you arrive in Costa Rica, or as the last hotel before you depart, since the airport is close by. The hotel has an airport shuttle, but we didn't use it since we had to drop off our rental car. We left at 6AM so did not have any breakfast.

The area where the hotel is situated is not very appealing. The hotel grounds were surrounded by a high fence, and the gate was closed by default. We ended up staying on the hotel grounds and having dinner at the hotel (which was fine). Hotel is under the flight path for SJO airport so there is some noise from airplanes.

The free, quick, and nice airport shuttle and the pool were really nice and part of the reason why I booked. The included breakfast was also very nice and you could eat as much as you wanted. Emanuel was super professional and friendly and showed us a species of owl we had never seen before. We love that he is committed to conserving and creating habitat for owls and want to support this cause. He also supports educational programs for students. There were lots of efforts made to be environmentally sustainable and wildlife friendly. There was a pollinator water garden and a bird blind. The staff was amazing. I told a young waiter that there was no coffee maker in our room and by the time we returned from our meal a new one had been delivered. We love that this is a locally owned family run business and that tours are offered. It's a tiny oasis in the city.

The food and drinks at the restaurant were more expensive than we expected. The Pina coladas and cappuccinos could have been stronger. Check out at 10 seems early. But I only write this because booking.com asks. There is really nothing worthy of complaining about at this beautiful place run with love.

Hotel Robledal provided the perfect ending to our Costa Rica trip, as we spent our final night here before flying back home the next day. The hotel's location is very convenient, just 15 minutes from the airport, and they offer a free shuttle service upon request (before noon), which made our departure hassle-free. Everything you need to settle down and enjoy your final (our first) moments in Costa Rica is available at Hotel Robledal. The hotel offers a range of amenities, and we found it to be well-equipped for a comfortable stay. The restaurant at the hotel exceeded our expectations, offering delicious dinner and breakfast options with plenty of variety to choose from. We appreciated the quality of the food and the attentive service provided by the staff. Our room was beautiful and spacious, with a great bed and effective air conditioning, ensuring a restful night's sleep before our journey home. While our stay was brief, we couldn't find any issues or negatives with Hotel Robledal. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a convenient and comfortable accommodation near the airport.

Great location in regards to the airport. Took 10-15min to get to the rental car return. Petrol stations are close by too. The hotel reminded me of a big conference hotel. Rooms were functional but very spacious. The staff was really nice. The restaurant is outside and the food reasonably priced and fine. BF is quite simple. We saw owls in the garden as the owners do a lot for bird conservation.

The garden was less green (trees) than it looked like from the pictures. The pool also had leaves in it by the afternoon when we arrived. No big deal but I didn't go in.
