We were pleasantly surprised by the amazing views from the balcony of the room. The balcony was a wonderful space to take in the breathtaking views and star gaze at night. The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood a short walk from the center of town. The included breakfast (especially option 4) was yummy. And the restaurant serves delicious pizza. The staff were very friendly, and the dogs made the hotel feel like home. Would definitely stay here again.

The room was relatively small, yet we didn't mind - we liked that it felt cozy and we had enough space for our suitcases and lots of hooks for hanging clothes.

We loved the balcony. While sitting we met other guests and saw many birds. Once we saw toucans and monkeys. The breakfast was good and filling. We also enjoyed the use of the public room on the main level for playing games together one evening.

The front window only had a small opening. It was helpful that we had a clothespin so that we could let the air in but have the shade closed for privacy. We needed the airflow to let our clothes dry from an extra rainy day.

The breakfast was awesome and delicious! The swing in front of the window was nice :-) and different! The staff was very nice. We were able to leave our rented car there while we went do a tour. I would recommend this Don Taco Hotel without any hesitation!

No smoking area... I had to go outside the premises to smoke (just on the street). It's o.k. but it would of been nice to have a ''sit down'' area.

It was located a little away from the town so it was super quiet. We got upgraded from a standard room to a cabin with a small sitting area with amazing views. It was comfortable and despite rainy season stopping most afternoon activity we enjoyed watching the thunderstorms from here. The breakfast was amazing as were the staff who helped us to book tours, transport and any other general advice.

The rooms were clean and comfortable and breakfast was great. The view from the breakfast room and balcony were beautiful and watching the sunset and stars was a great moment. The staff were really friendly. The location was perfect for activities.

There wasn't anything really. All I could muster here is the shower was lacking a bit of power but in all honesty we loved our stay and will remember our time in Santa Elena

The staff was great, and very helpful. we had our laundry done in record speed. the restaurant and breakfast was very good.

the room we reserved was on the ground floor, had no view or air, looked nothing like the pictures and had a bad smell. for an extra fee we were upgraded to a different room which was much nicer.

Staff were super helpful. Good location with private parking space. Bed was very comfy too. There's an amazing view from the breakfast area.

The water wasn't as hot as expected in the shower. However staff ensured they'd look into it. It would also have been nice to have some hangers in the room to dry out some of our clothes (due to rain).

We only stayed 1 night, but it was a great experience. Staff of the hotel were extremely tentative and helped us with any queries we had. Food is also really good, both for dinner and breakfast (that was included in price).It is super noisy when it’s windy so if you’re a light sleeper, bring earplugs! Our stay was overall great.

We loved our stay here. The place has a lot of charm, with friendly and helpful staff. Location great for getting into the town (be warned it is hilly!). But the best thing was the view! A lovely balcony and veranda to take in the view down to the gulf of Nicoya.

Be warned, that the wind can be quite loud during the night. We were fine with this, and it all added to the experience. I suspect a similar issue in other places too, and if a light sleeper, you may want to take earplugs. The bathroom was a bit basic, but consistent with the star rating, we didn't mind so much.

The management is friendly and welcoming to the guests. I made a mistake when booking, but the hotel staff immediately helped me to correct it. They helped me with parking on a narrow mountain road at night. A delicious breakfast and a comfortable sleep improved my trip.
