Room: exceed my expactations, I knew it was a big room, but it was AMAZING to have such comfortable beds, high ceilings, AC. i have asmtha so im always afraid of a room in the tropics
I loved everything, the stairs to the third floor can be challening for older people, and they can improve the wifi. But everything was amazing, the breakfast was SOO good!

We had an amazing time here. The staff were so lovely & helpful and went above and beyond for us. The room we had was very large and spacious with massive floor to ceiling windows overlooking the trees and the wildlife. We were lucky to see monkeys and macaws from our room. Lovely pool and areas to relax. Kitchenette with microwave, coffee machine and fridge. Great breakfast and so comfortable. Lovely comfy big beds and great shower. We didn’t have a car but it was easy to get a taxi or Uber 5 mins to Manuel Antonio, the National Park, the beach or in the other direction to Quepos. Can’t recommend enough.

Beautiful hotel with some jungle vibes! The rooms were huge, always spotless, I don’t understand how you can have a hotel so close to nature and still absolutely ZERO bugs inside (ofc you must keep your windows closed for this). The pool area was lovely, I could’ve spend hours there just watching the birds and monkeys. The area in general is not very walkable, but if you have a car or take the bus, the location is great. 5-10min drive to restaurants, beach, the national park. The roads are narrow and steep but the traffic is calm and considerate. The staff at Plaza Yara were also super helpful and kind, we absolutely loved staying here. 100% recommend!
If you don’t have a car, I would recommend a place closer to the beach. The breakfast was quite simple, and the dining area could use better airconditioning and lighting. Minor things, no real issues. :)

We had an incredible experience! The jungle views from the property are absolutely breathtaking – waking up to the lush greenery and scenic landscapes was a highlight. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, making sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. What made it even more special was the abundance of wildlife around. We spotted so many fascinating animals right on the property – a true paradise for nature lovers! Highly recommend staying here for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat surrounded by natural beauty.

Beautifully designed and appointed boutique hotel that is cleverly located between Quepos and Manuel Antonio. It has two refreshing pools surrounded by trees that provide lovely shade when you are looking to cool off. Food delivery is offered from one of the nearby restaurants for lunch and dinner if you want to stay in, but the hotel offers a terrific free breakfast to start your day. Air conditioning and shower water pressure were excellent, and the property offers a beautiful art gallery. I bought a painting there for my son and Nelson, the front desk manager gave us a discount! We will return to Hotel Plaza Yara the next time we are visiting Costa Rica. It is truly a fabulous place!!

We rented the apartment and it was spacious and luxurious. Far nicer than the pictures suggest. Very comfortable. The pool area was beautiful. On our second day we saw a sloth outside our front door which the cleaning ladies came to tell us was there and we would have missed otherwise. It was incredible!!
Would have been even better with a washing machine! On telling the staff that we were vegan and could they possibly adapt the breakfast they would only do this if we purchased the soya milk needed. Felt that it wouldn’t have been that big a deal for them to just accommodate that.

The room size was very nice and large. The sitting areas within the room and in the common area were fantastic and tranquil. The connection to the art gallery was a very nice surprise. The decor of the room was peaceful and calming. The bathroom was very nice, with a large shower and understated decor. The swimming pools were beautiful and refreshing. The breakfasts were very lovely and tasty. Caleb, the hotel registration employee was very friendly, personable, and a joy to talk to. He provided us a PERSONAL familiarization of the room and hotel facilities when we checked in. All this was a great help in relieving our stress from a long drive from Santa Elena.
Although the hotel can do little to alleviate the problem, the traffic noise on the street in front of the hotel would occasionally break the peaceful atmosphere within the room. Also, the back patio/balcony door leaked considerably when it rained (which occurred on both nights we stayed).

Very, very friendly staffing. Pet friendly. In fact, they have a beautiful dog on the reception. Really comfortable and spacious room with free coffee and popcorn for you. There's a relaxing place with a view to the trees, 2 swimming pools, and a delicious breakfast.
We requested a silent room, and room number 4 was given to us. The room is on the third floor on the back part of the hotel. The internet doesn't work really well on the room, which can be an issue if you need to work, but it's not if you go there for relaxing time! Do not miss the opportunity to visit this hotel!

The room was incredibly clean & bug free, the breakfast was amazing, the staff were welcoming & wonderful, and the veranda facing the garden was the perfect place to listen to the nearby troop of howler monkeys! Bonus points for the adorable doggie who hangs out in the Reception/Art Gallery, and the white cat that prowls for the most comfy seat on the veranda :) We only stayed one night as a break in driving to Osa, but could see why this place received such high rating!
The wifi in the room kept dropping out (it was raining so assumed everyone was trying to use it), which can be a problem esp if you need to work. My spouse had to go to Reception to make video calls, but he got to hang out with Carl the Dog.

We had the suite. I think we may have been upgraded. The room was large with two queen beds, two upholstered chairs and one small sofa, and a desk with two chairs. It also had a microwave, coffee maker, and small refrigerator. The hotel also provided microwave popcorn and a small milk for coffee (neither of which we used). Our room also had an outdoor seating area with a table just outside the room. Beyond that was access straight to the pools, which was wonderful and very convenient. There were two pools and plenty of lounge chairs to sit in. The pool area was surrounded by greenery. Breakfast was a choice of several options. I had the “typical” Costa Rican breakfast while my husband had the “American.” Each came with fruit, banana cake, coffee, juice and water. It was very good. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Oh, and it was air conditioned! The hotel was on a busy road, but we couldn’t hear anything from our room and didn’t hear much from the pool area.
The shower in the bathroom could be a little tricky to keep it on a consistent temperature.
