Klaus, the resident cat. The checkin was great, No breakfast because we had to leave very early the next day. The neighborhood was fine. Lots of restaurants in the area of all types. Grocery store close as well.

The lighting was very dim. Just our preference I suppose. The STAIRS. We are older and sometimes very slow. We did make it up the stairs but it was not comfortable climbing. There was no mention of the stairs only to get to your room.

The staff, location, price,free breakfast, wi-fi, and hot showers were awesome!! We stayed here twice while we were in Costa Rica and had room 4 both times. The bed was so uncomfortable. It dipped on both sides and we could feel the springs in our backs. I have a spring bruise! Our daughter came to stay for a night because we needed to leave for an early excursion the next morning. The only room they had left slept four, so we slept in there with her. The beds in that room were much better! I can't attest to the beds in the other standard single rooms, but say hell no to room 4. 😂

The location was great, its a cute neighbourhood, about 15min/30min walk from the major museums and downtown core. The room was basic but was clean and quiet. The place felt very safe. Staff were absolutely wonderful! We were promptly checked in, breakfast available if we wanted it (also the breakfast was great!) and the little restaurant area was super cute, and they were able to hold our luggage for a small fee. When we did have a slight issue with the shower the staff was prompt in making sure that we could get it fixed. Plus they have a cute hotel cat (not allowed in the rooms) which was a bonus!

The mattresses were a little firm, we appreciated the extra blankets since it was a little cold, but there was a slight issue with the shower instructions not immediately available. You cant increase the water to much and you have to wait some time for the hot water. We noticed this was only an issue in our first room, not the second so not sure if it is a hotel wide. The staff member on duty was very helpful and it was clear they checked the shower the next day.

Great staff, cool neighborhood. Included breakfast is always a major plus!

Felt like we could feel every spring in the very thin mattress, but we knew it was a bargain hotel and didn't particularly expect much better. Very plain and humble room, and the door lock was a joke. Parking was a bit tricky -- we ended up going around the block a few times then parking a few blocks away only to learn they had parking available at the property. All the spots out front when we arrived were taken so there wasn't a good spot to temporarily park to check-in. However, eventually a spot opened up and we were able to successfully parallel park in front of the hotel where we felt security would be good enough.

very good location, very clean, within 15 min walk of central san jose, far enough from crowded streets, several restaurants within 2 block range, good wifi, friendly staff, good regional breakfast. very close to major museums and downtown attractions. this is more of a nice pension-like accommodation, so do not expect hotel frills. For instance, front desk personnel also serve breakfast. excellent cost/benefit as compared to similar ones closer to downtown.

they lock you in after hours (or out), so have to phone front desk to be let out or in. I had a tour at 4 40AM and, from the lobby, had to phone front desk - the person appeared immediately, but this gave me a scare. no restaurant in hotel (though lots of them close by). basic infra, though spacious and quiet room. very thin toilet paper.

I really enjoyed my stay! Breakfast was great, although the options are limited for "breakfast included" but you can always order something at an extra cost, either way it was delicious and so was the coffee! Our room was a little smaller than expected but still very comfortable for two people. The location is okay, not to close to the chaos of the city but also not too far away (by car) if you want to go there. And the staff was so so kind!! Alex was so helpful and attentive with us and the other staff member (whom I forgot to ask her name but she has blonde hair) always greeted us with a smile at breakfast! Also the hotel cat was so cute, it ended up sleeping in our room one night because our window was open.

The costarican breakfast was very good. My bed comfortable, The staff most helpful. This hotel is in a great part of San Jose, with exceellent cafes nearby and also the beautiful Parque Francia so close, not to mention the Intensa Language Schook, just across the street,

Operating the shower was somewhat tricky and hot water for shaving would be nice. Also a dedicated sitting room next to the earing area.

This is an oasis in a bustling city. Located in a very safe area, clean, close to American & Central universities. Calle 33 is where all the nice restaurants are (there are very few beyond cafe, bakery, sodas downtown), which light up at night. Neighbourhood is also mid range residential & as a lone British female I was happy walking around this block (I only went downtown early morning to sunset). The room was clean, bed comfortable, shower hot, towels fluffy!, very pretty breakfast room/lobby, got to know staff by name (thank you Alex, Victoria, Pam). Nothing was any trouble. Hotel arranged taxi pick up from the airport. Supermarket (Fresh market) was next block up & cash machine 5 minutes walk. It is 20 minutes walk to National/Jade/Gold museums. Very close to National park which is worth a sit to people watch. San Pedro mall is 10 minutes walk east. I would definitely stay here again & highly recommend.

There was nothing that I didn’t like, however, you should know that it’s close to a rail line junction & the trains do use their horns as passing thru. It was really only background noise for me & seemed to stop after sunset & not start until sunrise so in no way disturbed my sleep which was deep & restful here. Other guests were also quiet whilst I stayed 3 nights. I didn’t manage to connect to WiFi in my room so hooked up each morning over breakfast - the connection was great/fast in the lobby. Not sure if that was any issue in other rooms.

The staff were excellent Breakfast was exceptional. The location was in a neighborhood near many restaurants. Cost effective, value for money. The room was as described on booking dot com

The hotel was very near to the railway line. The trains although infrequent were a source of noise. The room was as described on booking dot com but we missed the fact the room did not have an aircon or a fan so not much airflow was possible on hot nights.

Comfy room with a warm shower! We could park our rental car on the property and as before (this was our second stay in 1 week) the staff was very lovely and super helpful with everything! They gave us a perfect restaurant recommendation and made the reservation for us as well. Breakfast was tasty again. We recommend this hotel!

No AC in the room! Also, there was a lot of noise this time from the train tracks but nothing that a pair of earplugs won't fix ;-)
