We stayed in a partial ocean view suite which was large and had a nice outdoor covered patio with table, hammock and lovely jungle view. There were monkey's who came by every day near our patio. Was very cool to have them so close. There was also a mini kitchen area in the suite with fridge and microwave so you could potentially make your own meals. They have reserved parking for the guests which is very nice as parking is a premium in Manuel Antonio, and the freshly made breakfast daily was also a big bonus. The grounds were nice and manicured with a small pool and area with lounge chairs. The location is good and near several restaurants , markets and a pharmacy all walking distance away. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall -Villas Nicolas is a good value, and nice place to stay. I would recommend it.

Manuel Antonio area is situated on a hill with cliffs and Villas Nicolas is perched on a cliff on the main road. Our room was quiet but down several flights of concrete stairs. This was not a real problem for us but if someone had a neurological condition or orthopedic condition affecting hips/lower extremities this could be challenging. The steps are steep. Additionally the room itself had 3 levels in it.

Paula, Denny's and Dunnio made us feel like we were special guests.....although they see sooooo.ooo.many. Terrace merging on forest meant we had wildlife visit us morning and evening. It was hard to leave the terrace in case we missed wildlife visit. On the terrace we were visited by white faced and squirrel monkeys. We saw ( and heard) howler monkeys, toucans, iguana ..sloth was our neighbor, macaw, yellow beaked toucan, birds galore! Drinks around the pool early eve :).after a busy day out and about..We selected ocean view We did a tour everyday,..early pick up... and the hotel could be the pick up point. Central location was excellent.

Repetitive fruit at bfast....eg could add avocado/.mango.as change?.........,care/ warmth/ welcome ...and cooked items and coffee were superb and perfect.

The property is a little oasis of calm. The view is fantastic and we just loved chilling in the pool watching monkeys and birds on the trees all around. The room was perfect, clean and the bed very comfortable. The staff was amazing and Dennis, the host, was truly welcoming and always a pleasure to chat to.

Everything was perfect. Only thing I wish I had reserved a room with sea view. The garden view was equally nice but we didn’t have a proper balcony or a hammock. Most sea view rooms looked like they did have a balcony and the view looked incredible.

The staff! They were all so friendly and kind. They really went out of their way to help make sure my mother and aunt (both in their 70's) were taken care of, especially Dennis. The breakfast and housekeeping staff were wonderful too. Our room was huge and I don't think there are any bad views. Easy walking distance to several restaurants and grocery store. Bus is also easy to catch to take to the beach or Quepos.

Construction noise from the property next door. But not like anything can be done about that 🫤

Wonderful hotel! Dennys was very welcoming and helpful and breakfast was delicious! The pool was lovely, particularly after a hot day at the beach! There is lots of wildlife to be seen - we saw a parrot within minutes of arriving and a whole troop of monkeys with their babies were nearby one afternoon. Room was perfect with lovely AC - definitely appreciated in the heat! Super close to some lovely restaurants and the beaches are all easily accessible either by public transport or taxi/uber.

Incredible stay, Dennis and Paula are such wonderful hosts and really make the effort to get to know the guests. The location was incredible with great views of the water and also so much wildlife just outside (Saw a sloth as I was checking in). I loved the large balcony in the room, very relaxing and a great spot to watch sunset, the pool was also great to cool down and parking was very convenient

Many reviews have commented on the breakfast but I think this is a pretty standard Costa Rican breakfast that many other hotels offer.

We wanted a pool, our own kitchen, and to be close to a bus stop and the national park. Villas Nicholas ticked all our requirements. Our apartment was down a lot of steps, and tbh it didn’t look quite as ‘posh’ as some of the photos on booking.com. Nevertheless we were more than happy because it was extremely comfortable and also a long way from the road so there was zero traffic noise. Sitting on the terrace surrounded by jungle plants and with a distant sea view was idyllic. Howler and white faced monkeys passed by there regularly every day, we watched hummingbirds feeding, and we saw a sloth close up, right outside in the street one evening. There is a pair of scarlet macaws hanging out in a dead tree stump, right by the reception! Very pleasant and friendly staff, and a small pool for relaxing. Shops and restaurants walking distance. Fifteen minutes down the hill by bus to Manuel Antonio NP.

This place was amazing! Paula and Dennis were super helpful before and during the trip. The place was beautiful and perfect for my husband and I to enjoy my Birthday and our Anniversary. The rest of the staff was great as well. Wonderful location to local restaurants and a short bus ride to Manuel Antonio National Park and beach. The room was perfect and comfortable. We really enjoyed the patio with the view and being able to hear and see the monkeys. I highly recommend staying at this location.

Every evening at around 4pm tens of monkeys would parade across the tree line outside our room and would visit us on the balcony. AND, a pair of macaws lived in a tree next to our room! Spectacular wildlife on the property. Also, Arlo the cat was an excellent maî·tre d'hô·tel.

We had to leave, eventually. This isn't about the hotel, but walking on the side of the road was tricky because the sidewalk coverage is spotty. Take the public bus to the beach and back for about 60 cents per ride.

The hotel has beautiful gardens and swimming pool. The room was fantastic with a very comfortable bed, sitting area, small,well equipped kitchen and a terrace with an ocean view which included a table and chairs, sofa and chairs . The location is close to very good restaurants ( walking distance) and the breakfast was good. There is lively artwork throughout the rooms and bar/breakfast/pool area. This is a tranquil, beautiful place which has incredible gardens and nice ocean views.

The pool bar could be open a bit earlier, but everything was great.
