Nice hotel but actually under renovation. Our room was really small but clean and already renovated - little dark during the day but had a really good lights in the evening. Good location for the Manuel Antonio national parc trip or a sundowner on the beach. There are many restaurants nearby with an ocean view. The rooftop bar just opened. After the renovation it could be a nice spot!

Parts of the hotel are under renovation - sometimes very loud. There are a lot of steps to go - nothing for elderly people.

The hotel is in a very good location, the beach is only a couple minutes away and there’s restaurants around the area. The staff was always willing to help and made us feel very welcome! They have a lot of information about tours and activities to do in the area. The property is absolutely gorgeous, great views, multiple pools and the rooms are clean and tidy. You can also see animals roaming around, we saw monkeys, macaws and sloths 🦥. I recommend them 100%!! I’ll definitely be back.

The hotel is huge, with three swimming pools, huge green areas and it's so easy to see monkeys, iguanas, lizards, birds and capybaras. It almost makes a visit to the national park unnecessary. The hotel is undergoing renovations and, although I had booked a room without a private bathroom, I was given one with a private one, which we loved, of course, and we can only thank our luck. Perhaps they've simply done away with this type of room recently. However, you could tell that the renovations were recent and clumsy, as there were remnants of paint on the windows and even in the rubbish bin in the bathroom. Another less positive point is the lack of atmosphere - with so many swimming pools, there are two bars in the main one that are fully equipped and closed. All it would take is human resources and some ambient music and everything would be so much better. Curiously, during Friday and Saturday there were no events of any kind... but on Sunday at 7am they had live music during breakfast. It doesn't make sense. Overall, the stay was very good, it served our purpose perfectly, the location is excellent. It has the potential to be much better, because the structures are all there, what's missing is efficient management and an entrepreneurial spirit on the part of the new owners.

I have no complaints about the property. It is absolutely beautiful and surrounded by trees and wildlife. They upgraded my room without me asking which was lovely. The breakfast was incredible. There are multiple pools, they are so nice and lots of places to sit around them. The staff were incredible and so helpful. The room its self was very luxurious, comfy bed, air con, and I had a patio table and hanging chair. Only a 15 minute walk from the beach or a bus stop right outside the hotel. Would definitely come back

It was a little pricey, but I was happy paying for the experience!

The room we ended up in was clean and spacious. Nice to have the option of different pools which were really nice and we had to ourselves pretty much all day everyday. Great location just opposite the bus stop and close to a grocery store and restaurants. Short drive to national park and beach.

Unfortunately the first room we were shown to smelt very damp and was full of condensation however we asked to swap rooms and the man on the desk had no issues swapping us to an upgraded room immediately which we were grateful for. Lots of stairs to access the hotel and rooms so wouldn’t be suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Found the breakfast set up at roots a little bit odd - it seemed like the ordering and getting drinks process changed everyday, also paying $4 for two extra slices of toast seemed a bit steep.

Beautiful and clean. Great food at the onsite restaurant Roots- very fresh and nutritious, Phani, Manfred and Julie took great care of me and made sure my food was gluten free without a problem. The yoga shala and yoga classes were incredible, Lillie, Marta, Anna, Kerri-and the others (I took 12 different yoga classes while I was there :)) were wonderful teachers, each offering their own warm spirit and insight into the practice in different ways. All the staff were amazing, Ken and Kevin in reception, Tracy and Luciana in the coffee shop, all nice people to chat with, super helpful about what to do and how to get around, and very welcoming. The room was kept very clean and the bed was super comfy. Air conditioning worked great. The pools were nice and clean. I ended up extending my stay for a total of 7 nights and was very pleased with my entire stay.

Property was gorgeous- there are a lot of steps, but everything else was just perfect.

Delicious breakfast, two beautiful pools and nice architecture with small units dispersed around. We got a room near to the forest and we were able to see a lot of animals (monkeys, anteater, kinkajou, toucan, hummingbirds, iguanas, agoutis, etc.) from the porch next to the room. There is a store nearby and a bus station just in front of the hotel.

Breakfast service is slow - if you have some planned activities afterwards, plan to bo there well in advance. You can’t open the windows in the room and it gets really humid inside - specially if you have wet towels from the beach or wet clothes from the rain shower. Also the “cosy” type of the room is small for two people - it’s in line with the description, nothing wrong, but you feel really cramped inside, without the space to place your luggage. The room gets even smaller thanks to the huge wooden bed frame (much larger than the mattress) that you will bump into at least theee times a day. :) Also, they could place some more sunbeds by the pool.

Lovely hotel, conveniently located at the bus stop so you can park your car when you arrive and move around only by bus, which is recommended if you plan on visiting the nearby beaches or the Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio. The breakfast is nice, even though service can be a bit slow, so make sure you're not on a tight schedule. We even participated in a free salsa class, very unexpected but super relaxed and friendly! The room has all it needs :)

Breakfast service is a bit slow -- we didn't anticipate this so it can get quite stressful if you booked activities at specific times afterwards.

- Lovely stay here during a visit to Manuel Antonio. The room had a very nice rustic feel to it with a nice comfortable bed. - The staff were really helpful. We were only here for one night so as we checked out in the morning to visit Manuel Antonio national park, they let us leave our bags after check out to collect on return. Finished earlier than expected at the national park but had a few hours before our transfer to Uvita, yet they were happy for us to use the pool and facilities while we waited. - The highlight here is sitting around the pool! We had parrots flying overhead, Toucan's landing in bushes next to us, iguanas and agoutis wandering around, plus deer just over the hotel wall.

Did not stay long enough to pick out any faults

The hotel is absolutely amazing. They are gradually turning an old hotel from the 90’s into a beautifully renovated hotel with all the modern features it needs. My favorite part was the yoga and meditation sessions they offer daily in the beautiful space with jungle views and the focus they put on wellness. There is a coffee shop, restaurant and roof top bar. All very modern and trendy. I tried to stay longer but unfortunately the hotel was fully booked.

The only part that could maybe be an issue for some people is the many stairs around the complex. But even there, the staff is very accommodating in helping with luggage etc. I thought it was beautifully designed.
