Royal Blue hotel, great location, lovely room, great staff, fantastic views.

Not being advised that it was part of a shared complex. Breakfast was chaos, far too many people, coffee machines breaking down, long queues of people. Would've been much better if each hotel had its own breakfast facility, would have felt more classy and comfortable.

The hotel has some amazing amenities that really made our stay special. There are several pools to choose from, including a rooftop pool and bar that's 18+ perfect for relaxing and soaking in the views. One of the highlights was the direct sea access just steps from the hotel, making it super easy to go for a swim or enjoy the beach. The buffet breakfast that came with our room was a 10/10 so many options every morning. On top of all that, the staff all around the resort were absolutely lovely and incredibly helpful, always making sure we had everything we needed.

One thing to keep in mind, though, is that the location is a bit remote. It’s about a 15–20 minute walk to the nearest shop, so if you need to grab small essentials like sun cream, snacks, or toiletries, it’s not super convenient. It would’ve been nice to have a little convenience store on site or closer by. Still, if you're prepared ahead of time, it's not a huge issue but worth knowing before you go.

The room was excellent, we had a Seaview room on a high floor with Sea view and Balcony and it was great. AC worked well, and was whisper quiet. Comfortable bed. Shower over bath was fine. The room was a really generous and spacious size which was nice. There are several restaurants available. Most are good (Except Zoe, which I will come to). Have a kids free pool on the rooftop was heaven for us, as it's not always fun to have other people's screaming kids around. Breakfast was great, and included each day and had lots of options. Fresh fruit, hot breakfast and eggs and omelettes cooked to order! Overall a fantastic experience.

The onsite restaurant "Zoe" was the only disappointment. My wife ordered a glass of Prosecco and they only filled the Prosecco glass a third, as if it's a glass of Red or something. Odd, and the only time we experienced this (the other places all poured a normal glass). Not good given the high end price. I had the Octopus Salad, and again. An expensive disappointment, with the meal being 80% tomatoes, lettuce and a few token, small bits of Octopus. It really should have been called a Tomato salad with sprinkling of Octopus. Very inadequate. We didn't go back to Zoe , I think the staff managing that one restaurant need to do a lot of improving.

Perfect location, very good rock beach and pool with sea water (filling every day). Family room is spacious, nice, clean. Bus station is near, bus 6 goes directly to the city center.

1. Soundproofing is so bad, paper walls, we heard every word, that our neibourgh said. Someone is talking, someone laughing, someone went to the toilet - you hear it all. 2. Poor breakfast, not 5 star at all. The same things every day, and frequently we needed to wait, because meal lots are all empty. Few coffee machines, queues, need to wait. 3. All smoking area in breakfast terrace. I understand, that in Croatia smoking is not forbidden, but we are non-smoking family with small kids. And every breakfast we had to breathe smoke from here and there.. Non-smoking area would be appreciated.

Spacious, airy room with large balcony and one of the most stunning sunset views I’ve ever had (photos added are separate days) - worth every penny to upgrade. Bed was large & super comfortable and bathroom also large and well appointed and there was plenty of storage space. I travelled with my sister & had requested a twin sea view, but all sea view are 1 bed only but the hotel had thoughtfully provided 2 quilts which is a game changer and made things much more comfortable. Staff were amazing throughout, so friendly and helpful. We had a maintenance issue during our stay that was resolved promptly. Not all facilities were available yet (rooftop bar & pool, some restaurants) as they open from May, so we didn’t experience these. Bus to old town right outside the hotel and a a beautiful promenade running outside along the stunning coastline with options for restaurants / cafes / bars.

Nothing to point out at all

Overall, the hotel was good. It was the start of the season for the area so some restaurants were closed/ quiet. That said the hotel felt very spacious, plenty of places to chill and hang out. The bar and roof top pool were lovely, the pool heated so even on a cooler afternoon it was comfortable. There was a small gym and an inside pool, spa area. Our room for a deluxe sea view and the room was exceptionally spacious, with a large balcony and spacious bathroom. The room was also quiet. The location of the hotel was perfect, a promenade can be followed which has a good selection of restaurants and you can walk into the old city, although that takes approximately 1 hour but if the weather is good it is a pleasant enough walk and you pass bakeries, coffee shops etc. to stop and rest if needed. It is very easy to use Uber and there are buses aplenty so no need to hire a car if you are staying local.

Breakfast was just ok; it was adequate and there was enough choice for a few days but longer than that might have been problematic. They provided an 'egg station' on the deck of the breakfast restaurant and the queue for any sort of egg was long, whilst I appreciate the freshness I do think that this could have been better laid out for guests. Overall Dubrovnik is expensive in comparison to other European cities, restaurants, drinks are comparable to London prices.

We stayed at The Royal Blue which is one part of a huge complex with 5 hotels. They are essentially all connected and you share many of the same facilities, which is a bonus. We spent a lot of the time by the two pools that are right by the sea and all the jump in/climb in spots. Also close to the "On the Rocks" restaurant where you order all your food and drinks. They don't take orders from your sun loungers which is a shame but you can just go up to the bar to order and it's v close. The cocktails were delicious and the food also really good. The sea is INCREDIBLE! Make sure you bring or buy a snorkel it is so lovely to see all the fish. Jumping off the rocks is so fun but there are ladders for those that are not keen. The rooms are so comfortable, the beds are lovely. It is such a nice hotel! Oh and the rooftop pool and bar is amazing with a sensational sunset view! We honestly had a wonderful time. TIP you need to go out around 8am to put your towels on your sun loungers. Oh and I highly recommend the 4 hour speed boat tour to the Blue cave and some other caves.

Going from the main reception to the Royal Blue needs to be better signed. It would be great to be able to order drinks and food from the sun loungers.

The location, the building and staff all great. However, it should be noted this is one part of a 3 hotel complex and it appeared to be the most expensive. The rooms where vast but the facilities identical so unless you need a big room consider staying in the building 12 feet away the royal Neptune that shares the same entrance, pools, restaurants etc...

The spa had been great until our final day. An hour after they opened the sauna, steam room and pool where all still being cleaned. They even assured us the pool was safe to swim in with a pool cleaner plugged into the mains that was

The complex is very nice. The room was big enough. The breakfast was very very good, the pools were great. It was helpful to be able to charge our car. Very good food and very good service in all the restaurants. We would definitely come back!

The ventilation in the bathroom was not working, the door of the bathroom needed some adjustment. And the coffee, come on, guys, put an espresso machine in the room, it is not that expensive….it is a five stars hotel. I didn’t appreciate that some people that were not staying at our hotel were using the pool.

We had a sea view room and the view was absolutely amazing. One of the best I have seen. The rooms were also super spacious and very clean. The hotel beach is rocky with no sand. The water is also deep. There were plenty of lunch and dinner restaurats at the hotel to choose from. The location of the hotel is great. Roughly 30 mins cab ride from the airport and 10-20 minutes into the old town. (10 mins with cab & 20 mins with bus). The bus stop is less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel and runs every 10 minutes, which is super convenient and this takes you straight into the old town. We had the most amazing stay and will definitely be back. There is also a great hairdresser at the hotel.
