Argosy was still closed so they moved us to the President Hotel next door (5*) So this review is for that hotel (however we stayed Argosy last year and really enjoyed it also - great pools and food) Rooms large, wonderful sea views. Bathrooms with walk in showers. Outside areas for Drinks/restaurant are great / lovely views and sunshine. Breakfast buffet wonderful.s Service and staff were great everywhere. Great to get no 6 bus to old town right outside door, (or #7 to the bus terminal)

Had to move rooms twice -- first sprung a leak in bathroom light fitting from room above, 2nd had really noisy neighbours. Decor a little worn for 5 * hotel but can see signs this is being updated. Weather cool while we were there... outdoor pool too cold, indoor pool OK but not greatest.Beach restaurant had not quite opened also.

The location was really good, outside the tourist area but very easy to get to the center, the view of the pools was amazing too. We had a massage and the spa was great and also the service was perfect

It look a bit worn down like the chairs at the pool were not the best state, also bed sheets were clean but with old stains and little balls in the fabric which makes you think they were used for years!

We enjoyed everything about this hotel, it was one of our best holidays ever. All the staff were very helpful & friendly. The breakfast & evening meals were excellent with such a varied variety. Beutiful gardens and surroundings and the overall organisation was very professional.

We were disappointed that we were on the ground floor, so therefore didn't have a veiw.

Though the hotel itself is beyond it's glory days the amenities are decent and the surroundings make up for it.

The beach that is shown charges 50 EUR / per bed which was very dissapointing as that was the main reason we choose this hotel. On the bright side, a sister hotel's beach is free to use.

Very good hotel, part of several Valamar hotels located in Babin Kuk, 10-15 minutes drive from the Old Town. Good fitness room, 2 nice swimming pools, excellent breakfast and dinner buffet. The view from the restaurant to the sea and surrounding islands during the sunset is simply astonishing. If you like to swim in the sea and do sunbathing on cliffs, go to the President Hotel or just walk 10 minutes past it, towards Lapad beach. To visit Old Town we used public bus No.6 to go from the nearby President Hotel to the Pile Gate, which leaves every 10 minutes and cost EUR 2,5. Bolt cost EUR 10 per trip.

Dubrovnik in general and the hotel is an expensive holiday destination. Expect to pay EUR 25-35 for a meal and up to EUR 40 for a bottle of local wine. There are few small grocery shops around or in Old Town, so even reasonable price mineral water is hard to find (there is a small grocery just next to Pile bus stop).

A LOT! Staff, location, views, facilities, cleanliness, food, gardens, sun beds, spa treatments. In general I found this hotel great and would love to go back!

Ants in our room - we got moved to another one, but not until 3rd day. The reception lady sarcastically said they had new room ready for us the previous day, but we never showed up. As nobody told us about new room! Seriously lady, work on your customer service. Spa facilities - not much there; out of two saunas, only 1 working; jacuzzi always switched off. Lunch area by the bar - little cards on each table with ‘scan me’ for menu. When waiter approached and we started ordering, he slightly laughed at us and said: ’that’s the room service menu!’. Well why is it there making guests look like fools and wasting time? Go figure…!

Simply stunning location. We were upgraded to a room with an unbelievable view. Mini bar. Very comfortable bed. Spotlessly clean. Two outside and 1 indoor pool, great sun loungers, lots of choice of areas to relax and chill out inside and out, towels provided. We found the top pool a little warmer. Buffet breakfast varied and of excellent quality. Couple of beaches and coastal paths both directions for local exploring. Mini markets and bars/eateries nearby through park area and towards Lapad. Easy to get to the old town (about 15 mins) with very regular bus service stop just round the corner from hotel (no 6 bus which goes on a loop starts and finishes its route there so dead handy). Recommend getting bus tickets from hotel shop rather than buying on bus itself (tho note cash only; and can be closed for few hours mid afternoon). Would return without a shadow of a doubt. Thank you!

Only very minor -no conditioner in bathroom, glass bathroom door a bit clunky so ended up leaving open most of the time, bar staff could have been more accommodating when asked for ice and glass for room. Tiny things, overall an absolutely fantastic stay.

Views from the restaurant & Bar were amazing. Buffet food was lovely, breakfast was really good. (plenty of options). 10 min uber to the old town, Sports bar 20min walk away from the hotel or 5min taxi/uber, staff were great & rooms were super clean. We will definitely come back, but later on in the season when temperatures drop around 25/26 degrees.

Just one little negative I would bring up, which was the Restaurant was very warm inside during the evening. However there was a heat wave of 36 degrees pretty much all day.

The buffet breakfast was very good, so many options to choose from. We also had the buffet evening meal a couple of times which was also excellent, with unusually good choices for me as a vegetarian and good value. The pools were all fantastic with great views and enough sunbeds and umbrellas. The hotel is in a good location looking over the sea and islands. It is a quick bus trip into either the port area (for the boat trips to the islands) or the old town. It is easy walking distance to Lapad Bay.

There was nothing I didn't like. My only suggestion would be a few more English teabags in the room!

The most beautiful hotel in the best location. Views incredible. Lovely room on ground floor looking over gardens to the sea. Amazing pool areas - two infinity pools and a lounging pool. Ample and high quality sunbeds and parasols. Buffet (breakfast and dinner, should you want it; probably the best choice and quality of any hotel we've stayed in. 20 minute walk in to the stunning harbour town of Lapad. 2 minutes walk from a cafe bar, Italian restaurant, Chinese restaurant and small supermarkets. Highly recommended. We stayed for 5 nights at the end of a three week train tour through Europe and we loved every minute.

The hotel states you cannot reserve sunbeds but they don't seem to follow through on this rule.
