Argosy was still closed so they moved us to the President Hotel next door (5*) So this review is for that hotel (however we stayed Argosy last year and really enjoyed it also - great pools and food) Rooms large, wonderful sea views. Bathrooms with walk in showers. Outside areas for Drinks/restaurant are great / lovely views and sunshine. Breakfast buffet wonderful.s Service and staff were great everywhere. Great to get no 6 bus to old town right outside door, (or #7 to the bus terminal)

Had to move rooms twice -- first sprung a leak in bathroom light fitting from room above, 2nd had really noisy neighbours. Decor a little worn for 5 * hotel but can see signs this is being updated. Weather cool while we were there... outdoor pool too cold, indoor pool OK but not greatest.Beach restaurant had not quite opened also.

The location was really good, outside the tourist area but very easy to get to the center, the view of the pools was amazing too. We had a massage and the spa was great and also the service was perfect

It look a bit worn down like the chairs at the pool were not the best state, also bed sheets were clean but with old stains and little balls in the fabric which makes you think they were used for years!

We enjoyed everything about this hotel, it was one of our best holidays ever. All the staff were very helpful & friendly. The breakfast & evening meals were excellent with such a varied variety. Beutiful gardens and surroundings and the overall organisation was very professional.

We were disappointed that we were on the ground floor, so therefore didn't have a veiw.

Though the hotel itself is beyond it's glory days the amenities are decent and the surroundings make up for it.

The beach that is shown charges 50 EUR / per bed which was very dissapointing as that was the main reason we choose this hotel. On the bright side, a sister hotel's beach is free to use.

Superb service! The staff arranged our transport to and from from the airport. Car was brand new, inside was cool and the driver was very friendly. Check-in was quick, the room was as we had paid for. Rooms were extremely quiet and very spacious and clean and the air conditioning worked brilliant. The cleaning stafff did a great job greeting us with a smile every morning and engaging in conversations. Brekfeast + other amenities were very good and excellent quality. The 2 restaurants both had a wide selection of different foods to choose from and price was very reasonable. The pool + beach access was absolutely fantastic.

This was our first time in Croatia and it far surpassed our expectations. We loved everything about this hotel, The Argosy. From the minute we set foot in the hotel the greeting from the staff was lovely. We were welcomed by Ines and Anita, two lovely ladies. They were so so helpful. The outdoor facilities here including the pools are superb. There is direct access to wonderful beaches. It is located on the number 6 bus line with direct access to the old town. The beds are very very comfortable. All the staff from the reception, serving , cleaning and management were so accommodating and friendly. The breakfast was one of the best we have ever experienced in a hotel. It caters for all dietary needs. The buffet dinner was excellent value and again caters for all. Also we must mention the sunsets. The sunset views from the Argosy are outstanding. We just loved our stay at the Argosy and hope to return in the future.

Everything was lovely would highly recommend. Old city is only 20 mins by bus 6 which is very frequent.

The only problem was the terrible loud music, which was excessively loud, during the 30 min aqua exercise class every day which forced every single person in the hotel and beyond to be disturbed and spoilt the relaxing atmosphere for the many guests not willingly participating in the event. why is this class not held in the indoor pool which is mostly entirely empty? Also the hotel is advertised as nearby the beach, however getting to the beach was very complicated and not very accessible as down many steps so easy clear instructions would be very valuable. Eg take your valamar key card and go via the president hotel lift.

We stayed for 3 nights and chose a sea view room. The hotel is modern, beautifully designed, in a lovely location and very peaceful. It has 3 outside pools and an indoor one and we loved the infinity pool. We liked the fact that the hotel is Green and eco. The staff were friendly and we had everything we needed. We opted for half board, and were pleased with our choice. The buffets every night were very varied and amazing in choice. Could not have found a better place to eat. There is a local bus which picks up 5 mins from the hotel and every morning we went into the Old Town of Dubrovnik to explore and spent the afternoons relaxing at the hotel.

Nothing

I was skeptical about the location at first because it seemed far from the action of Old Town but it ended up being perfect and I loved the area so much! We did Old Town for one afternoon which was enough. The best part of this location is the views. Pool facilities and the view from this area is gorgeous. You see many islands and have access to many beaches around the area. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it to others. Also, the bus stop is perfect for taking you where you need to go.

Not a huge thing but I received what felt like 20+ emails leading up and after the stay which seemed excessive. Also, ordered room service through the app and then cancelled it but they still brought it so feel they should fix that feature in the app

Very good hotel, part of several Valamar hotels located in Babin Kuk, 10-15 minutes drive from the Old Town. Good fitness room, 2 nice swimming pools, excellent breakfast and dinner buffet. The view from the restaurant to the sea and surrounding islands during the sunset is simply astonishing. If you like to swim in the sea and do sunbathing on cliffs, go to the President Hotel or just walk 10 minutes past it, towards Lapad beach. To visit Old Town we used public bus No.6 to go from the nearby President Hotel to the Pile Gate, which leaves every 10 minutes and cost EUR 2,5. Bolt cost EUR 10 per trip.

Dubrovnik in general and the hotel is an expensive holiday destination. Expect to pay EUR 25-35 for a meal and up to EUR 40 for a bottle of local wine. There are few small grocery shops around or in Old Town, so even reasonable price mineral water is hard to find (there is a small grocery just next to Pile bus stop).
