Very friends Bar staff in the evening and also at the pool bar. The indoor pool was a total treat and empty on both days. From the lobby to the room, there was a contemporary feel throughout. What a lovely hotel

The Price for the Parkgarge was steep with 17Euros per night. And we came back quite late via the beach promenade and could not really find a pleasant way back into the hotel from that side. Perhaps some more signs where to go, might help

The rooms were clean and spacious. The hotel staff was very friendly. The Liri Club animators were excellent. The hotel building is old and in need of renovation, but the interior is much better than the exterior facade. The pool with heated sea water was excellent. The beach, like the entire coastline in that area, is rocky and mostly accessible by stairs, except for one small section with pebbles. The hotel’s location is excellent—close to the old town and the bus station for Opatija and Rijeka, while being situated right on the beach.

Our stay at Hotel Excelsior was truly wonderful. The rooms are cleaned daily, with fresh towels and regularly changed bed linen – everything always spotless and well-kept. The food is delicious and varied, and the real highlight was the amazing pizza baked on site. The staff are extremely kind, attentive, and do their best to make every guest feel welcome. The hotel has a fantastic location – just a short walk from both the beach and the center of Lovran. Another big plus is the peaceful atmosphere – also thanks to paid drinks at dinner, there are no loud parties or drunk guests, which makes it a perfect place to relax. We also really appreciated the underground parking – even though it’s paid, anyone who has been in this area knows how difficult it is to find a parking spot, so it’s a great convenience.

A very helpful improvement would be the option to reserve a parking space together with the room booking.

We absolutely LOVED the waterfront location. The lounges on the waterfront with stairs & rails to access the ocean was wonderful. In fact we will be back after Croatia. That’s how much we loved it. Our room was a twin superior with sea view so the view was amazing night and day. Actually breathtaking. Our beds were comfortable and a second bathroom /loungeroom with Nespresso machine was perfect for us. ( 2 people) 2 tvs and 2 air conditioners. Just perfect. Staff were fantastic and friendly . Parking across the road was easy or underneath. Breakfast was good, not amazing but good. A local recommended the pub down the road for dinner. Very good. Pizza is 10/10 . We are Melbourne foodies so take note 🥰

Everything was great. Maybe a paint and refurb of the building but not essential as it just feels relaxing and not pretentious. Maybe a stronger hairdryer? That’s all I could fault .

The hotel has direct beach access. Breakfast and dinner were very varied. There was parking at the hotel, we were at the end of May. There is a large supermarket nearby. The staff were lovely. The hotel was clean.

Parking was 17 Euro/day, I think 10 Euro/day would be more reasonable. They didn't even provide water at dinner, you had to pay for any drinks. The hotel could do with a little renovation.

Food for breakfast and dinner was very good. The wine they serve at dinner is very expensive: 5,9 eur per 1 dcl. The room was clean and warm. Parking in the garage is also very expensive: 17 eur per day. But there are plenty of parking spaces on the street free of charge. There is also a swimming pool with seawater, which is not very warm and the pool area is also a bit chilli. Finnish and Turkish saunas are also available. Personnel in the restaurant, who were not Croatian (I would say they are from Phillipines), were all very kind.

Unfortunately, there was one Croatian waiter, who did not like his foreign coworkers and was unkind to them. He also told guests some unkind things about his coworkers.

All Staff was fantastic and always checking that all was good. Breakfast and dinner was very good. I liked that that the dinner was varied each day although it was buffet. Pools were clean and beach area was good too. Facilities were good too. Entertainment in the evening was very nice too. Although its a family oriented hotel we as a couple really enjoyed it too. Well done!

The only thing that we recommend is that the gymnasium opens a bit late.

I have been returning to this hotel in Lovran several times. The hotel employees are very friendly and are always there to help the guest. The hotel has a large swimming pool with sea water that works from 8am to 8pm. The water temperature is 29 degrees, allowing you the real pleasure of swimming in the sea. You can also relax in the sauna and steam bath. The hotel is very clean, the rooms are big and very nice. The sea view is fantastic from the room. The hotel has a great large parking lot. The food is excellent, the breakfast is fantastic. At the entrance near the reception, you can relax in the lobby, with coffee and delicious cookies. Hotel Excelsior is the best hotel in Lovran, for every recommendation. Thanks a lot. See you soon. :)

- right by the sea with beautiful promenade to the small village with restaurants - really nice sea view from the room - rooms clean, comfortable, A/C and wifi working good - friendly and helpful staff - good restaurant by the pool - tasty breakfast and dinner buffet - mild access to the sea - every day possiblity of 3 exercies (yoga, pilates, HIIT, cardio, aquaaerobic) - available parking for 15eur per day (in front) and 17eur in garage

- the stone plate beach was crowded - bed besides the bed, no chance to get free bed after 10 a.m. (towels booking system used), fortunately you find free beds in the garden the whole day (but then walk + stairs to the beach), in short walking distance is public Cipera beach (paid beds and umbrellas) - same breakfast everyday, small choice of vegetable (salad, tomato, cabbage)

The location of this hotel is amazing. Right by the sea, it has it's private beach. The beach is a bit on the smaller side, but wonderful. The breakfast was really great, we liked the variety and all the options. Juices, coffee, cereal, eggs, pancakes, bread, cheeses... really all you can think of. The rooms have recently been renovated. We got a free upgrade to a room with the sea view. We were really, really grateful, because the view is breathtaking. We were able to find free parking just across the street and the staff was kind in directing us where to find it.

The hotel is quite old - although the rooms are renovated, the inside, the beach and some areas could be renovated to really make a good impression on the guest. The dinner is not that great as breakfast is - the choice is smaller. The bathroom in the room had an uncomfortable smell, probably the issue with sewage very close to the sea.
