We liked everything . First, the location - the apart hotel is very well located between Brandenburg Gate and the Museum Island , very close to the metro line no.5 that goes to the central station and at 5 min walking to the Friedrichstrasse S-Bahn and metro station. Second, the room itself - it is large enough for two people, bright, quiet, very clean and it has all you need for a comfortable stay . Communication with the staff before arrival was perfect and even if we arrived outside the reception hour, the check in was very simple. Also, the moment we entered our room, we got an e-mail with a lot of information : starting with how to use the equipments in the room and finishing with the location of the nearest supermarkets or how to travel in town. They are very considerate with everything. At check out we could leave our luggage at the hotel for a few hours.

Honestly, everything was very good.

Clipper Boarding House is a perfect location for central Berlin. Many sites are walkable, and there is nearby public transport. The apartment is very clean and is partially serviced every few days. We had an apartment with a closed in balcony, which was excellent to sit out on at the end of a long, sightseeing day. The apartment was pleasantly decorated and the bathroom modern. The staff were helpful and it was handy to have the use of a washing machine. I would definitely recommend Clipper Boarding Houses for a stay in Central Berlin.

If I was to be very picky it would have been good to have more cooking options other than a microwave as we were there for a week. (a stovetop or oven) However, I would definitely recommend Clipper Boarding House and stay there again.

Exceptional place to stay for cultural vacations - close to theaters, museum island, central attraction points. Very close and convenient access to trainstations and public transport. We have quiet room in inner courtyard, air conditioning was good, even if we was lucky to visit Berlin in not very hot week, I seem room is adapted to such situation too.

We had some issues with kettle and safebox, but we just not mess with it, I hope staff can fix it in seconds. Another issue was with wc seats - they are really narrow and if you have a narrow ass too - you are in risk to fall inside, if you loose control. Wondering why this equipment was chosen. So, you couldn’t stare the instagram in your extra time.

I stayed in one of the 8th floor suites with terrace which was extremely spacious with a well equipped kitchen (with stovetop no oven - but not a problem for me). Comfy bed and pillows with a cute little ‘winter garden’ conservatory off the bedroom. 6 mins to the opera and closest supermarket for those visiting for music and 10-15 mins to all the central museums etc.

The flat was cooled by fans which didn’t sufficiently ease the summer heat. The roof terrace is labelled as private but is open plan and just roped off from a walkway guests use on the way to other 8th floor rooms. So if you are eating outside or just sitting to read - you are ‘on show’ as people walk past. I wanted to sit outside after a concert but felt very unsafe after another guest decided to linger next to the terrace for a smoke and have a good stare. It was unnerving. If I had been with other people then it would have felt better but not as a solo traveller.

Location - IMHO, the best possible for a tourist in Berlin. Most POIs are accessible by walk, but if you need public transport, the U-bahn and S-bahn stations are very close. It is very easy to come from/to the airport by S9 (Friedrichstrasse station). Food: a lot of restaurants around. If you need a grocery - REWE and Penny are within 5 min walk distance. Another "Lotto" store with tobacco, alcohol, and snacks is located on the opposite side of the street. Note: in a "studio" room you haven't a cooking plate, microwave only. The room (we stayed in a "studio") is large enough, clean, and good equipped. Kitchenware - espresso machine, toaster, kettle, dishes, glasses - all are high quality. Mattress and pillows (4 units by default), linen, and towels - large and comfortable. A little balcony with a view of the inner courtyard. It's very small but you can smoke there. Self-check-in is very easy. The staff is very friendly. We really enjoyed our stay here. danke schoen.

WiFi is good enough for web surfing/texting but weak for multimedia. There is no furniture on the balcony - you have to take a chair from the room.

Best location we’ve ever had, walked everywhere in Mitte, hardly needed to use our PT ticket in Berlin. The public underground and bus stations are around the corner from hotel. The staff was very accommodating. We appreciated the large size of our room and ability to use the kitchenette for early breakfasts.

The room was too warm at night, even though it was only 6-8 C outside and our heating was off. We were told that the buildings heats up easily. Given the absence of aircon this is an issue especially in Summer.

It's a nice mini hotel with quiet and comfortable rooms. I was a bit misled by the photos into thinking our room had a kitchenette, which it didn't. However, there was a kettle, a nespresso machine, and a microwave. Would have been handy to have a stove, but we managed. Overall, it's a nice place to stay - very centrally located, with easy access to S-bahn, U-bahn, trams and buses. The museum island is within walking distance. The staff are very polite and ready to help.

It's indeed strange that the trash is not taken out daily. I thought it wouldn't bother me, but it did. Also, the shower does not have a proper curtain, so water splashes onto the floor. Also, the room on the whole was very clean, but the light switches in the bathroom felt sticky. The pillows were a bit strange and not the most comfortable kind.

I had been dubious about this place since as reviewers note, it is not a conventional hotel, but decided to try it. So glad I did. If you like trendy furnishing and daily services this is obviously not the place for you. But if you appreciate spacious large room, elegant bathroom with lots of privacy, making your own cozy breakfast without leaving your room, all in a wonderful convenient location with great restaurants at first floor doorstep, then you will love this place. The front desk staff was very nice and responsive and efficient. The apartment was clean, cozy and convenient. The location was wonderful, so easy to walk most places. Added to that were two great restaurants downstairs—Italian in front, Vietnamese in back; clean laundry room; taxi stand a few steps down the street towards the Westin Hotel. Clippers had everything I needed for the middle of a long trip and I wish I had stayed longer. Unfortunately I moved to a conventional hotel when my husband arrived (as he prefers a restaurant breakfast onsite) and we paid more for a place I liked less.

The location is excellent, a short walk from Friedrichstrasse station, so well connected for the airport as well as local transport. But many of the central Berlin sights are within walking distance, so it is very easy to get around the city with this as a base. There are plenty of shops, supermarkets and restaurants nearby as well, so getting provisions for breakfast is easy. Our room was on the top floor, with extra height and the light was lovely. The staff were helpful and friendly too.

Nothing really....

Nice and clean. Everything you need is there. A lot of space too. No breakfast options, but you have a small kitchen where you can prepair your breakfast (no heating options beside a microwave).

There is quite some noice outside, so you have to sleep with the windows closed, but there is climate controll. Beds are good, not great. View from the appartment is not so nice, but hopefully you will spend most of your time outside of the appartment :)
