We stayed at the Hotel des Nordens Flensburg as we were planning to explore the nearby region of Als in Denmark. The hotel was perfectly sufficient for our needs with comfortable beds, good parking and a very good breakfast buffet. The receptionist was very friendly, most staff appeared to be fluent in German, Danish and English which was a bonus.

The hotel room we stayed in (located in "the tower") appeared a little tired, albeit perfectly clean, and a minibar fridge to store snacks and water would have been useful especially in the summer. We didn't realise the pool was closed during certain times (only opened at 2pm on a Monday, we had been hoping to take the kids swimming before check-out), this could be made a little more transparent, a heads up at check-in for instance would have been helpful in planning accordingly.

The room was excellent! We have nothing but praise for everything and everyone. Our child is allergic to nuts and when we asked the kitchen staff they immediately found out what she could eat and not, which is very helpful. There was a coffee machine in the room, and that coffee was the best I've had in a long time. Also, one of the boarder shops is right next door.

Good breakfast although when we came down we found the eggs, bacon, baked beans etc on the cold side. Nice having a dip in the swimming pool, although I would have preferred it a couple of degrees warmer, but soon got used to the temperature. Hotel was clean.

Was allocated a disabled room nr 508, so the bathroom got soaked when having a shower with a slippery floor, as there was no shower curtain or shower basinto stand in. No where to hang clothes up in the bathroom. Not a very nice view from the room

Good big hotel very near the Danish border. The hotel has a big pool, where you can swim from inside the hotel and going outside in the same pool. It is a funny experience to swim outside, when the weather is cold. there are good saunas and a good bubblebath to 8 persons. Very good breakfast. Buffet with a wide range of oppertunities. Friendly staff. there is a big shoppingcenter just around the corner. Free parkingspace just outside the door. Five-ten minuttes driving to citycenter in Flensburg.

they were going to repair the changing room, so we had to change in our own room and the go to the swimming area. not that big problem, when our room was just upstairs the swimming area.

Amazing outdoor pool, heated perfectly, even in winter. Poolside sauna was excellent. Indoor pool and jacuzzi and steam rooms all add to this gem of a place. We wish we knew about this hotel all the times we’ve been in Flensburg. Great breakfast and very clean everywhere. We will be back.

Do not judge the building from the road. It looks very dated, inside is so hyggelig 😁

The spa was nice, the indoor and outdoor pools and saunas. The changing is far too small for such facilities. The breakfast was good and with a huge range of food. The bar is a good option for dinner although the portions are enormous. friendly waiter and pools staff. The room in the President House was much bigger and cleaner with a better bathroom than the room in the main hotel building and the balcony was great.

The hotel is old fashioned and urgently need s revamp. Using keys is old school, you should modernise and have a digital card system. I asked for 2 rooms next to each other but one was in another building and we did not use it. The room 504 in the main building smelt bad and had low ceilings. The carpets were old as was the lift.

We only stayed 1 night and had the dinner, breakfast buffet, which is always good. The room was a great size and beds were comfortable enough. Price, location and facilities were excellent. The bathrooms are dated and could use a little fixing up. The staff has always been so friendly and helpful. We had a great weekend!

We really like this hotel and have stayed here many times. The service is good, but the hotel is a bit old and some facilities are a bit outdated. The swimming pool is nice though. The breakfast was fine.

The room has a smell and needs to be aired out by opening the windows. The kettle is not very clean. The front desk service staff are not very enthusiastic.

You have to bring own towel to the sauna and guy at sauna reception had left so dit not know and was then fussed and almost denied me access to the sauna (had rushed from Hamburg to make it to the sauna on time meaning 2 hours driving and giving a very bad energy)

The ladies at the reception were kind and helpful, talk in English as well. I had a breakfast also in the price. If I had a bikini with me I could also use the pool and the sauna. They also have a fitness room. I recommend this place and save it in the favorites 😊

I've seen a bathtub on the pictures, but I had a shower. I mean it was fine, but I was a bit disappointed about that 😅
