This place is a gem. Not flashy, not trying to be the Four Seasons, but it doesn’t have to. It’s got that rare combination of Danish design cool and German attention to detail. Clean lines, muted tones, wood that feels like it came from a shipbuilder’s stash. The kind of place where you walk into your room and think, yeah, someone actually cared when they put this together. The harbor is a stone’s throw away—close enough you can wander down with a coffee in hand and watch the boats roll in, but far enough removed that you don’t get the noise, the neon, the bad saxophone buskers. Flensburg itself is easy to love: cobbled streets, gabled houses, a harbor that still looks like it remembers sailors who drank hard and prayed harder, and just enough gentrified nonsense (McDonald’s in the square, souvenir shops, kebab joints) to remind you that time marches on, not always for the better. Breakfast at Petuh? Worth lingering for. They don’t phone it in here—think fresh, local, quality over quantity. Staff are attentive in that quiet, Germanic way—no overbearing smiles, just competence and warmth. And if you’ve got a motorcycle, relax. There’s safe parking tucked in back, so you don’t have to lie awake worrying about whether some kid is trying to hotwire your BMW. Nights in Flensburg, you’ve got options, though mind the hours—places tend to close earlier than you’d think. A Greek restaurant around the corner serves portions that would make your grandmother proud, and if that’s not your thing, the town’s got plenty of other spots where you can eat well without breaking the bank. So, Hotel Petuh: not just a stopover, not just a bed on the road to Sweden. It’s one of those finds that makes you want to stay a little longer, drink another glass, and wander the harbor again the next morning. A place that feels real in a world where so much travel has been sanded down into the same safe, beige experience.

Very nice small hotel with amazingly friendly staff. Our room was very spacious, clean and had a very comfy bed. It's nice there is the opportunity to get lovely coffee/tea (great choices) for free at the 'breakfast area' as well as other drinks + snacks for a small fee if you like. Parking behind the hotel easy (for a small fee) and only a few minutes walk to the city centre, but in a quiet area.

Great location. Great parking. Beautiful decor. Very clean and spacious room. The hotel was calm and tranquil. Eventhough the shower is in the room, the indoor climate and air was really good. No restaurant or bar (small selection in fridge) in the hotel, but the hotel is surrounded by alternatives so that’s no trouble.

The curtains didn’t keep the light out in the morning. And I think there was a police station near by, because there was a lot of siren once in the evening and once in the early morning.

Lovely room, very comfortable bed and bed linen. Great shower, loved the underfloor heating in the bathroom. Friendly staff who spoke good English. Good location near waterfront.

Felt the breakfast was expensive at €20+ per person. We found one close by for €7.50. Felt there should be a warning of the cost of parking before booking it. €19 seemed expensive. Also the local tourist tax was a surprise. So you think you’re spending €145 and suddenly it’s €185 (and with breakfast it would have been €225) which was above our budget.

Super cozy hotel and quiet room thanks to the "noise cancelling" windows! We are light sleepers, but slept like babies and woke in the morning feeling refreshed. Excellent cleanliness everywhere, great peace of mind. It made a good impression seeing the manager in person, not putting themselves above daily tasks such as welcoming guests or serving breakfast.

Bathroom and shower facilities can be a bit awkward for shy people. Adding frosted window film to the shower door for added privacy would be a nice touch, in my opinion. Wifi password not available in the booking information, room or hallway. Only sign we could find is in the lobby, a bit inconvenient.

Everything I would expect from a boutique hotel. A great design with attention to detail. A lovely room and a large comfortable bed. Breakfast was nice and parking was available at extra cost and it was worth arranging before arrival. A warm and friendly greeting when we arrived and a great recommendation for a local fish restaurant.

The fine details of design, colors of the interior, it is full of thoughts, carrying warm energy to us. We love the idea on toilet and bath are separated. The common are to get a drink, I could sit and write, giving me good energy after a long day. The receptionist offered her time to talk while there was no other guests around, feeling homey!

The hotel is really lovely and the staff very kind and helpful. The room was spacious with a huge television and a very comfortable bed. Also clean and nicely decorated. The breakfast tasted great. The location of the hotel is very convenient.

Nothing noted.

Staff were courteous, helpful and spoke English well; we had a great dinner with the recommendation from the front desk. We didn't take advantage of the breakfast, but perhaps we will next time since all else turned out to be excellent. We did appreciate the coffee and tea facilities downstairs. They watched our bags for a few hours while we toured more of Flensburg before leaving on the train.

Everything about this hotel experience was mind blowing…. If you are in the area book a room 100%

My only observation, which is not a negative, was that breakfast was basic and too self service for hot food…. But I can see it worked really well for other guests 👍🏻
