My experience at Barceló Hamburg was exceptional from start to finish. The staff were not only highly professional but also genuinely kind and polite, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout my stay. The service was flawless—attentive, efficient, and always with a smile. The location is simply perfect: central, well-connected, and ideal for exploring the city on foot. The room itself was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable, with modern amenities that made my stay feel relaxing and convenient. On request, I was provided with a complimentary water boiler, which was a lovely touch. If I may suggest one small improvement: offering a complimentary bottle of water in each room upon arrival would be appreciated and align with the otherwise impeccable standards of the hotel.

Parking is a nightmare. I had a rental car this time and to park you usually press a button and a ticket comes out etc. You know how this system works. But here you have to drive your car up to the underground car park. There’s no button to give you a ticket and raise the gates but instead you have to ring their bell for them to let you in and out. I find that very stressful as I prefer the ticketing system. Press button and a ticket gets released and you park. Insert ticket to exit. Simple.

Big room and has a kettle and fridge. It's well pressented. We slept well.

Within 10 minutes of booking we received an email threatening to cancel the booking if we did not pay in full within 48 hours. It made it seem like the hotel was run by gangsters as the language was quite aggressive. My bank refused to pay using the link they sent for security reasons and they refused to cancel the booking without 100% penalty. They need to change their attitude.

The Barceló Hotel was very close to Hamburg main station (- a 5-minute walk), which was great for us, since we were travelling around by train. It was ideally situated for restaurants and shopping in the Mönkebergstraße and Jungfernstieg. Just a short walk to the underground station or S-Bahn to get to other parts of the city. The hotel was bright and funky and the staff were very welcoming. Our room was modern and clean, having a kind of open plan aspect bedroom and washing facilities, with separate shower and toilet. The bed was huge and super comfortable. We were pleased to have access to a kettle for a hot drink and there was a fridge. Unfortunately, we had to leave early the next morning, so we did not have breakfast in the hotel. However, the staff were very accommodating and prepared two “Lunchpakete” to go, which enabled us to breakfast on our train. In fact, it lasted us the whole day!

We couldn’t think of anything. We had a lovely - if brief - stay. We would definitely stay in a Barceló hotel again.

Location was fabulous, we walked to all major sights - room was quiet, walking distance to central train station (with lots of luggage), staff were extremely pleasant, bar snacks and bar staff were brilliant. Would recommend for a short stay - we absolutely loved Hamburg 👍

Two of the three lifts were out of order - not so much an issue for us as we used the stairs but we were only on the 2nd floor. Would have been frustrating for those on higher levels. Room was a bit small for us with lots of luggage and travelling for 8 weeks but more than adequate otherwise - also not a real issue.

The property was clean and tidy, the staff friendly and helpful. The location was central and provided great access to central Hamburg and the Christmas markets. The central train station was a 10 minute walk giving easy access to the larger Hamburg area.

During our stay there was a clear problem with the drains which left an extremely unpleasant smell around the whole hotel. It took a couple of days to resolve with very few updates unless you asked and even then it was very brief.

Very good choice for breakfast. Clean and efficient facilities. Very comfortable and a great location close to facilities and transport.

Personally I didn't like the open shower which made showering a chilly experience.

We absolutely loved this hotel. While we had anticipated that our room might not be ready early in the day, we were pleasantly surprised that we could "move in" at 10 am, and check-in was a breeze. The room was spacious and quiet with a very large and comfortable bed in it. Our particular thanks go to Darko the barman (hope he has recovered) who made us feel very welcome on Christmas Day, the breakfast team who looked after us every morning at the crack of dawn, and the receiption team who made it possible for us to extend our room into the evening of our departure day, despite it being New Year's Eve and the hotel being busy. We will come back!

Receptionists was super supportive and nice . Great welcome . Location is amazing. No homeless around even it’s close to banhoff. Seems safe and calm . Nice coffee shops close by . 200 m from lake .

Ac is not working properly Rain shower broken in the shower No sleepers and tooth kit ( only by request I assume ) Garbage removal mashine came at 5 am being extremely noisy ( but it’s not property issue )

Very good location, 5 minutes walk from Hamburg Central train station and city center. Lots of shops within the area, restaurants and mall. Breakfast is very good.

We already knew that the toilet / shower area is open-type, but we thought that this could work for couples staying in the room but for friends, its not. We took turn staying in the shower area which caused delays to our schedule.
