The building is located in the Centro Historico, it's hundreds of years old and charming with a lovely courtyard. Way in the back of the property, up several flights of stairs was a tiny terrace with a sweeping view of the city that includes the churches and the famous angel statue. Between that and the lovely courtyard the hotel has, I enjoyed myself. Room was clean, bed was comfy. Housekeeping came promptly everyday in the mornings. My room had no windows and was a little chilly at night but I asked for a space heater and that resolved the issue immediately. My room was also along one one of the street sides but I had no sound issues at all. Also to note, El Centro becomes (oddly) very quiet at night with no one on the streets (like, zero humans), so that helped it be very peaceful at night. Its a three minute walk to Plaza Grande (the main plaza) so the location is ideal. Lots of restaurants nearby and the hotel staff is happy to recommend some good places to eat.

This has been mentioned in many reviews, the breakfast is simply dismal. The breakfast room is in what was, literally, an old prison dungeon that they kept the insurgents in hundreds of years ago. No windows, dim lighting, no musical ambiance. It's such an odd choice considering they have a lovely courtyard that they could serve breakfast in. Also, the options are the same everyday. Eggs, a piece of fruit, bread, coffee. The combo of a boring breakfast and the dismal breakfast room really makes a less than stellar impression about the hotel considering it would take so little to improve the experience.

The lobby was beautifully done in a very old building. The staff were friendly and helpful. Great area close to many things. The Hop On Hop Off buses the many churches and cathedrals and great restaurants as well as neighbourhood stores walkable area.

The morning breakfast was not particularly good to my taste. They tried hard with fruit and eggs but had no toast only croissant The juices each day seemed to be watered down. Due to the building being so old some rooms had a 10 inch approx step to get into the bathroom re plumbing in an old building The large cement stairs going to upper floors had no railing whatsoever and made it difficult for seniors to use. Had to hold onto the wall. Again due to age of place there was no way to get to the reception desk because it had no phone system at all. I had no phone plan so was unable to let reception know my needs as they came up. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my 4 day stay

The hotel is located in the historic part of town so everything is easily accessible. The hotel itself Is beautiful and 1 of the 5 oldest hotels in the city. Breakfast was lovely too, was nice to have fresh friut juice and slices of watermelon, accompaniedwith a nice soft brioche roll and jam, and fresh made scrambled eggs and of course coffee. The common area with all the plants just makes it feel so homely and the rooms are nice and spacious with everything you could need. The staff are beyond helpful. I had a slight problem getting a sim card to work and they were very accommodating letting me leave my bag in the store cupboard while I sorted it out, I was able to stay in the common area for a couple of extra hours while I got myself sorted, which allowed me to recharge my phone and get my bearings. Highly recommended for many reasons. I can honestly say there wasn't anything I disliked about this hotel. Would happily stay again. Lovely friendly staff and was just a nice place to be.

Awesome stay! San Francisco is in the absolute heart of the Old Town. This charming 300+ year old building is charming with high ceilings, lots of plants, and a shared terrace with a view. The metro is a block and a half away. The Centro Histórico is happening during the day, and gets very very quiet at night. Great for sleeping! The staff here are consistently helpful and kind. Beds are comfortable and there is ample hot water with good pressure. There are tables and chairs in the beautiful lobby which I enjoyed when I picked up food - I don't like to eat in my room. Particularly recommended for solo women travelers.

Nothing. I've stayed before and will stay again. The building is historic and comes with all the quirks you would expect.

The hotel is in a great location in the Historic centre. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good and the room was clean, comfortble and plenty of hot water. The only downside to my room was it was quite dark as there was no window only a sky light. They could also provide coffee making facilities in the room as you are not able to purchase a drink in the hotel.

The building and history is incredible!! Garden courtyard and eating in the basement dungeons was really nice. Lovely small breakfast included in the room rate. Nice staff.

Our room didn’t have windows to look outside. The pictures show lamps and chairs and area rugs and all the things that make a room feel warm and inviting — but ours was sparsely furnished and felt more like a dorm story bedroom. Not very rich and inviting.

A cute hotel in a perfect location. Staff was very friendly and arranged taxi service for me. Breakfast was fabulous. I had an issue with the door lock and they immediately changed me to a different room. Highly recommend

Breakfast was from 7-9. I had an early tour starting at 7 so missed out. Perhaps starting a bit earlier cuz I imagine a lot of people book tours.

The hotel is beautiful and has an interesting history. It has a rooftop with astonishing views of the city and a really nice restaurant nearby, that was recommended by Jimmy on reception. He was very helpful as I was quite unwell due to altitude. It was quiet at night once the daily hubbub of the city had gone.

No hot water for the shower but I didn't report this at the time, so can't really complain.

Joffrey and Joshua were extremely helpful and friendly. Our room was huge and very traditional which we liked with good hot shower and quality towels and bedding. There is a sweet little roof terrace with great views of Quito old town.

The breakfast was the same every day with fruit (good) and just plain scrambled eggs on a plate with nothing else so a bit lacking in taste.

The property was beautiful, the staff was exceptional friendly and kind. The location was good.

Breakfast was not what we didn’t expect it, it was very simple. The beds were very uncomfortable, the room did not have outside windows with no ventilation on it the only ventilation was the entrance door with the entrance removed. The restroom was the same with no ventilation and very simple. WiFi was week and we were unable to use our phones in the room.
