The staff was very helpful. We got everything we asked for, the excursions we requested were delivered plus the transport. The guide was specifically very helpful. The breakfast was good - eggs with cheese, some sweets, bread, drink + coffee not a big one, but exactly what you need for a breakfast. The water in the room was clean to take a shower, which is important for Egypt to be fair, so we we didn't have any issues with the quality of water. The location is good in the center of the city and the transfer from the airport is good.

The building is not very clean, there is rubbish in the elevator shaft, but this isn't something the hotel can do, as they share this building. Now, in the evening the noise from the street is big, as the hotel is based exactly on a street, but to be fair it ease up during the night so we didn't have issues with sleep, but this can be loud in the evening.

The best thing about this hotel is the owner manager who is an exemplar of best practice. As a result, you can rely on a level of personal service and responsiveness rarely found. The high ratings given by other travellers tell a similar message. I notice that he is particularly good at acknowledging even minor issues and putting them to rights, when so many managers provide only a bland reply with no attempt to face and resolve matters of concern. This third floor hotel provides a reassuring and secure base in the heart of central Cairo.

As the hotel has no sign at street level, encourage guests to look out for the number 17 on Kasr el Nile street.

Family owned run by Mr Philip who was charming and courteous. He gave us good unbiased information regarding the metro and Uber cars amongst other things. Really friendly and welcoming; a really nice disposition. Not at all pushy. Mr Philip’s English was good and he always checked if we needed anything. His staff were also helpful and courteous. The room dimensions were magnificent 5m height ceiling - our room was 6m by 5m with two balconies. The architecture is 19th French and lovely. Mr Philip has chosen well with the furniture. Centrally placed so brilliant for getting around. It was definitely noisy with traffic hooting etc but this added to experience of being in Cairo for us.

The staff were so welcoming and warm, we felt right at home. Philip booked us a wonderful tour of the pyramids with Hassan who was very knowledgeable and a wonderful companion. Philip's daughter was a saving grace when we accidentally booked the wrong taxi to the airport. She was able to book us a new one in seconds and we made our flight on time. Centrally located and very comfortable.

Thank you for your hospitality. I think it's 3 star hotel facilities and 5 star hospitality. Especially in Cairo, Egypt, it's not easy to stay in such a hospitable hotel and at such a low price(compare other hotels in Egypt .). Hotels in this price range are prone to fraud and extortion in Egypt, especially in Cairo, so i recommend this hotel for its peace of mind and safety . The hotel owner was a very responsible person who had amazing experiences in hospitality business. There are 1-4 staff members at the reception at all times to take care of guests. Each room in the hotel has a great view, and I especially recommend booking a room with a balcony. There are KFC, donut shops, and Pizza Hut nearby, so i recommend ordering takeout snacks/drinks and enjoying afternoon tea in your room with a balcony. The hotel owner, his family, students in training, employees, and housekeepers were all kind-hearted people. Tipping is not required by them, but please show your appreciation by tipping as they do amazing care. In addition, the hotel had a kettle and hair dryer. It seems that AC will be fixed in the future, making your stay even more comfortable.

There is only one housekeeper, so cleaning is not thorough/perfect. Especially toilets, bathrooms, corridor and balconies. It would be more efficient if the reception staffs( other than the housekeeper, but they have time in reception)were also available to clean the room day by day/time to time.

The room was .semi dark. Just one chandelier as a central, and very poor head light The TV difficult to connect No Tea/coffee facilities No even a glass in the room. You have to ask at the reception Poor value.Before I spend 3 days at an apartment a few blocks away, less expensive with all the facilities, even Netflix and washing machine

I really enjoyed for first time traveling egypt but I was so tired and being nervous most of the time my schedule were so tight I didn't have a really rest untill I got to philo hotel the last 2days egypt I'm so relaxed and felt comfortably at this place what is disappointed is it I could only stay here for one night! I really don't wanted leave there oh I shouldn't forget to write this my room has 2balcony and enjoyed nice city view you can shot nice photo by any places in the room good atmosphere lovely colored room has not elevator each places I stayed philo has nice vintage style elevator I love it! you shouldn't be hesitate book this hotel many thanks for all staffs especially mr Philip I really appreciate you I wish I could be stay more than days

The hotel is located just off Talat square, was a little confusing on the first day, but it's got an excellent view, and the family running the place are absolutely great. Breakfast was alwaysn on time and all the staff were really nice and pleasant to talk to. The location gives you access to quite a few diners and quick Uber access. All in all a great stay

Good stay in the center of Cairo. An area where you can easy walk around outside. Not a typical hotel but you can sleep in an colonial-french building with high ceilings. The street is very loud untill 3 a.m. But i think it is like that all over Cairo. There is a mosque next to the hotel which can also be loud. But it felt like a typical egyptian experience.

Centrally located at Talaat Harb Square. Many traffic, but the noise level acceptable. Very friendly owner and staff. Connected by elevator at 3rd floor. Spacious rooms and nice balcony. Basic facilities but bed is okay.

Build in bathroom, big enough, a little bit smelling because of limited ventilation. Center really busy at daylight but not very welcoming at night. Some homeless people in the street and also some harassment can occur (potentially psychiatric sick people molesting women).
