The check in was easy and we were given a complimentary drink ticket for the sports bar "Strikers" in the hotel. Parking was a breeze, although it is pretty busy to get to the hotel itself. The hotel decor was quite dated but had a very classic/elegant feel to it. Everything with gleaming and clean. The pool, coffee shop, Churchill's cocktail bar and the sports bar were all lovely. I did not use the gym but peeked in and it looked clean and large with lots of weights/machines to use. Beds were very comfy!

Lack of hot water, the shower itself was kind of clunky. There was SOME road noise at night but no more than would be expected while staying in the city

We had a king deluxe with access to the Premier room for refreshments. We're vegan and so the food offering in the premier room wasn't really for us, but they have good beer and soda selections. Liquor based drinks are a bit strong so we always split them and added more mixer. Breakfast was ok for vegans, good for vegetarians and looked very good for omnivores. You can eat inside or pool side. The room was large and very comfortable. The shower was hot with good pressure. There is a hairdryer and mirrors outside of the bathroom (and mirrors inside the bathroom, of course) which makes it easier for 2 people to get ready at the same time. Our only complaint is that there was no water provided on the first night and the fridge wasn't stocked. Reception, bar, and door staff were all very friendly. Vegans might struggle to eat dinners here. In terms of location, there are many good restaurants as well as museums within waling distance and we felt safe walking to and from them. Overall, pleasantly surprised and would choose it again if we returned.

Could have restocked the fridge.

The staff were amazing, very professional and incredibly helpful. The breakfast was great and there was a huge selection to choose from. The bed was so so comfortable and everything was very clean.

The rooms need to be refurbished… The fittings were very old and dated. My key card had to go in and out at least 5 times to use the lift or enter my room, even after a key change. The wallpaper in my room and bathroom was peeling at the edges. The electrics weren’t wired well, so turning off my lamp would turn off the main light and the charger port… didn’t affect my stay and the service did make me ignore the state of the rooms.

It is a luxury hotel: the room was quite large, as was the bed; the view was very nice; water pressure was more than adequate. And the price for a luxury hotel was under $100 a night, and included not only the large room, but breakfast (which was open for five and a half hours each morning), use of the spa (except massages, those were extra), two complimentary welcome cocktails, and two bottles of water per day. All located in an upscale neighborhood, which was very safe during the day and evening, all close to the major museums and -- if you're into that sort of thing -- shopping.

While the hotel was, overall, high end luxury, there were a few things that showed a bit of age. Breakfast was good, with a good selection, but a bit repetitive. I could not get maid service when I stayed in my room late one morning.

The room was a bit old and the bathroom needs some renovations, breakfast very good, staff very respectful. I liked the fresh food and pupusas, you can eat as much as you want. the last day I chose my breakfast to go so I could eat later at the airport, they provided me with a container to take with me. I recommend you to live your own experience, it will be great. everything is close and safe.

The bathroom is a little old and needs some repairs, the plastic mat to keep you from slipping is old. I almost fell because I wanted to take a bath for sure, they need to check the carpets because they also have an expiration date.

Barcelo is a super nice hotel, the gym is quite elaborate and has a lot of machines and free weights. The breakfast was delicious and had a lot of options. The bar downstairs also had some local alcohols you can try in cocktails. It's quite well located in the city close to shopping malls and bars around, and there are a lot of nice restaurants close also. The rooms are also very large and beds are very comfortable.

I guess due to the age of the building the rooms can be a little damp but it wasn't a problem for us.

The managemennt of Barcelo Hotel is superior! They are most attentive to the needs of their guests. They excel at courtesy and follow through. In particular, I must give kudos and praise to Jefe de recepcio, Ms. Betzabe Alvarado. Ms. Alvarado works at the granular level with her guests and ensures that their need, desires, comfort are met in virtually all realms of a guests stay. She assures that the guest is number ONE! I cannot say enough about how unique and excetional the Barcelo Hotel is and much of that credit goes to the management of the hotel. Ms. Alvarado represents thi Hotel at the zenith of her professon. Dr JMC

I AM SURE THAT THE HOTEL WORKS ON THIS IN A DAILY AND INSTINCTIVE MANNER.

The hotel is very well kept and in a great location. The room was spacious, beds very comfortable, service impeccable and the hotel has the best breakfast I have ever seen anywhere, with three kinds of fresh juices to start with and such a wide variety of local and international foods. Also the pool was decent-sized, plus the clients could use a spa with two kinds of saunas and a jaccuzi.

I would expect better English skills at least from the reception staff.

I loved everything about this hotel! The staff was helpful and friendly. My room was clean and I loved that there were plenty of hangers in the closet for my clothes. I booked a room with access to the executive lounge. I loved the privacy and quietness of the lounge as well as the opportunity to come and go during the day and evening. The neighborhood is safe and quiet - I didn't have problems walking around at night. There is a mall across the street, so there were plenty of eateries to choose from. I would definitely stay here again when I am in San Salvador!

The hotel is in a modern and safe area of the city. Room are spacious, with two large double beds in a double room; however, the very same room can be used comfortably by up to 4 people. Breakfast was excellent, with large choice of dishes, cold and warm, and both local and international. The outdoor pool is large enough to have a swim in, and there is a indoor jacuzzi on the top floor (next to the gym).
