The hotel itself is not new, but the lobby, restaurant and the rooms themselves look fresh. There are some things that can be noted (for example, the elevators), but overall, these are all minor comments. We got a room next to the elevator - at the same time, it did not border on others and it was very quiet at night. This was our first time using room service. It worked great. But the most wonderful thing about this hotel is the breakfasts! A huge variety, WARM plates, and the food is constantly replenished until closing time. So you won't find yourself in a situation where "something is already gone". I HIGHLY recommend having breakfast there. Restaurant staff - thank you very much for your attention to detail and to your guests!

Very clean and modern hotel. Lifts to floors, receptionist on main desk all the times we went past or went out, came in. Beds comfy. Approx 10 min walk into central area (Calle Puertas de Murcia) which leads through the cafes, shops and eateries, and some fabulous buildings - right down to the port. Bit of a walk, but it is doable to both train and bus stations.

Should have learned a little Spanish as most staff did not speak any English apart from very basics. Most annoying for me, as I do like my morning cuppa, was that they don't have English Breakfast Tea in the rooms. I asked at reception for a breakfast menu and teabags and they didn't have either. OK if you drink coffee or fruit tea 😒

The room was clean, the linens were excellent. The bathroom was small, but had everything we needed. The shower pressure was excellent. The bed was comfortable. We paid extra for the breakfast, not sure if we would do that again. The choices for the breakfast were marginal. The staff was incredible. I want to give a specific shout out to a woman named Isabel. She made our trip. We forgot our passports in the safe, and she made sure to look after them until we could return. I can't say enough good things about this woman. She has a great sense of humor, she's an excellent manager, and if she's not the manager, then she should be. I hope her boss is reading this, and I hope they give her a raise!

Staff were excellent and extremely helpful. Rooms were lovely with a good bathroom and facilities. Breakfast was also really good although could have done with ketchup - a very minor point. Hotel about 10-15 minute walk from the Railway Station and close to centre so restaurants within easy walking distance. Hotel was far better than I had expected - was good value.

Could have done with a bar but nice bar/coffee shop just around the corner.

Big comfortable beds, big room, good location. The breakfast is also good and plentiful considering the size of the dining room, freshly prepared juices, good coffee, we only missed a little more fresh vegetables. Very friendly staff at the reception and in the dining room.

The problem of parking - but we knew that in advance. Very small and slow elevators - it can be a problem for those with a lot of luggage. Perhaps the cleaning could be improved a little, especially the floor, but in general we were very satisfied. .

It was great to have a family room option as we have 2 young children and not every hotel offers this. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable with good air conditioning. Staff were friendly and helpful. There is a retro games room which our kids absolutely loved. The hotel is not right in the central tourist area, but all the major sights were only about a 15-20 minute walk away and we didn't mind at all.

Parking was a bit tricky as there were no spaces in the closer parking garage, so we had to go to the one around the corner and even with some discount as hotel guests, it was 24 euros for 1.5 days which was more expensive than other Spanish cities we stayed in. There was a loading bay right in front of the hotel though, which was great for loading and unloading suitcases!

The hotel was clean and modern and it was in a good location. The staff were all very nice and very efficient. The breakfast was very good except the scrambled eggs were always overcooked. The bed was very comfortable.

There was no mirror in the bedroom. This is very unusual in a hotel. Not very good when two people are trying to get ready. Also only one hook in the bathroom to hang towels on. Why when there are two people in the room?

The location is brilliant, just on the outskirts of the Historic District and about 15 minutes walk to the Port (the furthest point). The underground parking garage is accessed from the street at the back of the hotel but there is a pedestrian door into the hotel itself. Breakfast was better on the Sunday than the Monday but it was still good: Bread, rolls, a toaster, yoghurt (both dairy and soy) whole fruits, juice, chopped bowls of fruit salad, boiled eggs, salami, cheeses, hot cooked items, cake, pain au chocolate etc. A lot of variety and good quality. The bed was comfortable and the room dark, shower hot and powerful with a normal and rainforest shower head. Bathroom was tiny but adequate. Receptionists were helpful with city information. The lift worked fine Cartagena is a fabulous city and I'd stay here again.

There was supposed to be WiFi throughout the hotel but it did not work on my floor or in my room for the duration of my stay. I did tell staff 3 times and it was not rectified. I could do everything I needed sitting in reception and they did deliver a cut fruit platter to my room as an apology.

The hotel was absolutely perfect for our short stay in Cartagena with family. The location is convenient and just a short walk from all the popular tourist areas in the city centre. The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating with check-in requirements and were helpful. The room was spacious, well equipped, clean, comfortable beds and had all the amenities you would need. Overall, excellent value and a great option for a family of 4 visiting Cartagena.

No complaints, we were happy with our stay at Sercotel Carlos III and would be glad to stay there again.
