This was one of the most pleasant hotel experiences we´ve had ! Of special mention were the sister Reception team of Amélie and Audrey...absolutely incredible from the immediate help with finding us a parking space upon arrival ( I neglected to reserve one....which proved CRITICAL as we arrived about 12:10 pm and had a walking tour booked for 13:00. Without Amelie´s help getting checked-in and settled in less than 10 minutes we would have missed it ! The breakfast service was terrific with broad selections of fresh and tasty food. We also loved the quiet location on a pedestrian street in the So Ho district...only 5 minutes away from main city Larrios street ! The property id VERY well kept with super comfortable rooms, bed and bathroom. The complimentary in-room coffee maker service REALLY appreciated !! My only regret is that I had no time to enjoy the roof terrace bar ...but NEXT visit for sure !

Good location, comfy beds and pillows, mostly nice staff. Rooftop bar is nice and there are a few sunbeds up there too. Cleaners come in every day. Quite close to train station, beaches and old town. The room was smaller than expected - we booked an executive room so not sure what size a standard room would be. Despite numerous messages to the hotel about bed configuration in advance of our stay, they still got it wrong and then were very argumentative with me which I didn't appreciate after a long journey (or ever really). Breakfast is very average for a 4 star hotel and although it's advertised til 1130/12, they don't really refresh it towards the end. Hot food has been sitting there for a long time and pasty/fruit selection is limited.

The hotel was lovely, in an excellent location a short walk from the town and the port. It is a beautiful hotel, very nicely decorated and with a comfortable rooftop bar. The bedrooms were a good size, well decorated and very comfortable, with a coffee pod machine provided - always a bonus - and the bathroom was very well appointed, with nice toiletries. The staff were excellent - very friendly and helpful, and were happy to provide recommendations of places to eat.

There was nothing not to like; there was no rooftop pool, which is something I frequently look for, but that's a small point. Others might like the small gym that is on the ground floor.

I had a wonderful experience at the Mariposa Hotel. The hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. I really loved the character of the hotel - spotless clean with beautiful paintings and sculptures strategically placed throughout the hotel. It also offers high quality rooms - with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in - and a lot of comfort items to make you feel at home. Great ambiance as well in the hotel’s breakfast area. Front desk staff is extremely efficient, pleasant and helpful. Needless to say that as the hotel is in the heart of the Soho neighborhood, which is between the Port of Malaga and the historic center the hotel, it is practically a few minutes walking distance to everything. Just about name it and you’re within walking distance. I simply loved the charm of this hotel. I have stayed at dozen of hotels in Malaga, Mariposa Hotel was on the top of the list of best stays/experiences ever. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Malaga.

This lovely hotel in a fabulous location had such friendly staff from the people at reception to the guys at the bar were all so helpful and kind. Comfortable beds and great decor as well as a really clean and beautifully scented interior. The roof bar was fabulous with good wine at reasonable prices. We had never been to Malaga before, and the food recommendations given to us by the hotel were excellent and non touristy resulting in fab food at a super price. The location was just brilliant five minutes walk from train station but also close to shops. We really will be back.

One of the most beautiful buildings in Malaga with real plants installed for decoration. It’s a real pleasure to see. Also the art inside the lobby and breakfast room are fun and different. It’s a very aesthetic boutique hotel. What I love about this hotel is its location. It’s in a pedestrian only zone in the heart of Malaga, close to the harbour…. so you don’t get any traffic noise and sleep much better as a result. That was amazing and refreshingly quiet!

For a 4 star hotel with such magnificent art and aesthetics I personally found the breakfast selection to be of good quality but a little limited. They had fresh pastries every day, juice, some cereals, fruits, bread and some savoury items but it felt that despite the good quality the choice was more limited compared to other 4 star hotels where I’ve stayed. Also no shower facilities once you check out. In the summer heat, I know I like to shower before I catch my plane back home.

The attention to detail is evident, from the plush bedding to the well-appointed amenities. I especially appreciated the little touches, like the complimentary toiletries and the coffee maker, which made my stay feel even more luxurious. The staff at Mariposa Hotel are truly outstanding. From the warm welcome at check-in to the helpful recommendations throughout my stay, they went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed. Their professionalism and friendliness really set this hotel apart. The rooftop terrace was another highlight of my stay. It offers stunning views of the city, and it's a perfect spot to unwind with a drink after a day of sightseeing. The breakfast buffet was also excellent, with a wide variety of fresh and delicious options to start the day right. Overall, I highly recommend Mariposa Hotel to anyone visiting Málaga. It combines comfort, style, and outstanding service in a way that makes for a truly memorable stay. I can't wait to return on my next trip to this beautiful city!

Central area- convenient to shopping/ marina and main areas. Lovely rooms roomy and comfortablebed. Very clean and towels replaced daily. Very friendly reception staff- all very willing to help. Nothing too much trouble.

Room was too warm and had trouble regulating temperature. Server at breakfast was obviously annoyed when we arrived with 10 mins to go at breakfast. Rolled eyes when had to switch toaster back on. Was very rude. Roof top bar was not well stocked and seemed unprepared for custom in December.

Really like the building both externally and internally, instantly recognisable on the street from the plants coming out from the hotel. Service from the reception staff was great. Hotel generally felt very clean. Room was well equipped, clean and comfortable. Roof terrace felt very cool and was a great place to relax before going out on the evening.

Only fault was that the bar on the roof terrace was closed both nights we were there despite it saying online that it was open.

Great location in Soho quarter. Just a 15 min stroll in one direction down to Muelle 1, marina, Pompidou centre shops and restaurants and a little further on to Malagueta beach. 15 mins in the other direction and you're at the Ataranzas food market, the main shopping street and the Alcazaba.

Personally, it'd be nice to have continental breakfast up on the roof terrace. Everything else was great 👍
