The hotel was a great location, just near the train station, and in a nice area. The staff were always friendly, and always helped, no matter the time or request. The restaurant and bar were clean, always manned by attentive staff and the food/drinks were lovely, quick, and a good price. The room itself was perfect! Lots of room, comfortable, a great bed, and the showers were fantastic. It was a pleasure to come back here every night after a busy day, knowing how comfortable we would be. Thanks to all the staff who looked after us. When we return to Amsterdam this is where we will be staying and I will be recommending it to everyone.

This hotel is so beautiful. From the moment you see it in its traditional glory and then you enter into a modern luxurious hotel. It is wonderful and the rooms are beautiful, spacious and have everything you need on a short trip. The location is perfect, right beside the train station, with an outdoor shopping facility, just a stones throw away, and a short cheap train ride to Amsterdam Central. This is the ideal spot if you want to be in a quiet location away from the hustle and bustle.

There was nothing I didn't like about this hotel. For the price I paid, it was worth every penny and more. You can't get luxury usually at a cheap price.

The hotel was perfect for our family with two adult children. We enjoyed having two connecting rooms. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and modern with all the amenities. We also thought the beds were very comfortable and appreciated that they had separated the two twin beds in the room where our children were staying. The breakfast buffet was excellent and we were glad that we added that to our stay. Finally, all of the staff at the hotel was very professional and friendly. We highly recommend this location for your stay in Amsterdam. We liked that it was between Amsterdam and Zaanse Schans since we wanted to visit both. The train ride isn’t any further than if you were staying in one of the outer suburbs of Amsterdam.

Nothing - we found the hotel perfect for our needs

The personnel of the reception was extremely kind and friendly. Also the personnel of the restaurant and the bar,especially Lynn was super helpful and kind and always smiling. The gym was small but new and clean. with music and air conditioning. The hotel was a few meters away from the train station and the bus station. Downtown Amsterdam was only two stops away using the train. Dishes of the restaurant were very tasty. There was room to leave our suitcases after the checkout, in the last day. The inside of the hotel was beautiful, comfortable and clean. Also just opposite of the hotel there was a very large supermarket Albert Heine .

Some stains in the carpet of the room (401). Also the temperature of the room was centrally controlled to 19 degrees Celsius, which was very low for us, so we asked the reception to re-adjust it to 23 degrees Celsius.

Great location - across the plaza from the Albert Heijn grocery, across the plaza and up the stairs to the Zaandam train station. Easy access to pleasant Zaandam pedestrian area beside canal. Bike rental is €13 for 3 hours, €18 for the day. Check your bike's brakes, tires, etc before riding off in case you should pick a different one. Refrigerator and safe in room, no microwave. Plenty of power outlets. AC worked just fine, turns off if the window isn't latched. Windows swing open nice and wide, or at top. No screens, but had no problem with bugs. Blackout curtains are effective. Comfortable, very nice and helpful staff. Bring your own washcloth if you like to use one.

The plaza in front needs a good vacuum to clean up the cigarette butts, but I think it's city property, not hotel property.

A great location with easy access to the Zaandam Metro station , surrounding Restaurants , supermarkets and shops The staff have been exceptional , friendly , helpful and easy to engage with , also loved the daily cleaning of rooms . We've been travelling the world for the past 5 months , and this is without a doubt the cleanest property we have stayed at , To top it all off , the breakfasts give you a great start to the day 😀 😀

Unfortunately the landscaping outside could do with a tidy up , maybe a small white picket fence around property would look awesome 👌 but thank you Zaan hotel

I loved our stay at this hotel! The location is superb, just a quick train ride to Amsterdam Centraal station and within walking distance from Zaandam station. The room offered a beautiful view, and the overall atmosphere was peaceful and quiet—a perfect retreat after a day of exploration. The check-in and check-out process was breezy, and the facilities were clean. Additionally, the hotel's accessibility to Schiphol airport, just about 40 minutes away via train, adds to its convenience. Highly recommended!

5 mins walk from the station. Access to Zaandam with a short walk and Zaanse Schans by train. Easy to get to the city centre from train station. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. They have 24hr check-in after 2pm, so there was always someone at the front desk. They also stored my bags until 7pm after I checked out.

The hallway smelled a bit funny, not too bad, but not pleasant either. The breakfast was mostly ok, but not a big or varied selection. I stayed for 4nights and it was almost the same thing every day.

we decided to stay in zaadam area rather than the main city area so that we could be closer to the windmills and see the cool architecture. the main city area was only about a 5-10 min train ride away. was great staying here for our first time visiting amsterdam but we would probably stay in the city area next time since the train rides were adding up quite a bit in cost. The cost of our stay was more affordable than hotels in the city and rooms were a lot more spacious as well.

location wasn't horrible but the train rides to and from the city were adding up. Keep in mind, the last train back to Zaandam is around 11pm at night so that did mean that we could not stay out super late unless we wanted to book an expensive uber.

The hotel is in a lovely building, right near Zaandam train station. Supermarket in front of the hotel. The room was pretty spacious. It seems like the ceilings are a bit higher than the standard. Good soundproof (I have never heard any noise during my stay). The service I got from all the receptionists was EXELLENT! Thank you very much!!! The space for breakfast is beautifully designed.

IMHO, the breakfast has to be upgraded. The quality of some products should be improoved. Scrambled eggs were tasteless... One morning, I couldn't find a clean table and just cleaned it myself, as I had no time to wait. I would like to suggest improving the quality of cleaning in the room and paying attention to details I would suggest putting a soap dispenser in a shower cabin instead of tiny bottles. Too bad the floor hitting in the shower didn't work. It could improve the experience.
