The hotel is very nice and the room was really good - there was enough space, it was reasonably quiet for the centrality of the location. The staff was really excellent - competent and friendly -, and the breakfast was superb. We didn't use the spa because our stay was short, but next time we will be better prepared. We also visited the restaurant twice, once for a late night drink after the theatre, and the other day for a meal before heading for the bus, and all we had was first class, including the service.

A tiny detail - there was only one switch that turned on/off the lights for the toilet, the shower and the washbasin in the corridor. So that if anyone wants to switch the toilet light on at night, the corridor light will switch on as well, which is not what you might want when your partner is asleep.

The hotel qualifies for its superior four-star rating. The personnel is polite and helpful. The ambiance is gorgeous, and there is a luxurious scent in the rooms and halls. The restaurant is marked in the Michelin guide and attracts with its high-quality service and cuisine. The location is exceptional - in the very heart of Tartu's Old Town yet, in the quiet corner of it. Breakfast was wonderful and the waiters were helpful there as well (I would only recommend using less salt in an omelet and no salt & sugar in the porridge). The spa is small & cozy with a luxurious atmosphere inside. Overall, Lydia Hotel provided us with a wonderful stay caring about us at every step.

Great hotel with an excellent restaurant. The food at the restaurant was amazing for a decent price. The staff were nice. Location could not be better (1 minute walking to the kissing students statute). The swimming pool is warm with an unusual design. I should have stayed more days. Fitness material enough for short stay. Coffee station at the reception with great option including syrup.

There are some small fixes needed in the spa like the rainforest shower in spa that you need to force to turn off or one of the showers in the spa whose base of the hose is broken. But this is nothing major and this does not impact the overall impression.

Great facilities and just amaaaazing breakfast. Whenever i go to Tartu, the Lydia Hotel is my first choice. I sleep well there, i enjoy great food and it is in the heart of the city.

They are starting to cut corners a bit. i.e, slippers are not in the room anymore; you have to request them separately and then go down to the reception desk to get it. Quite inconvenient when you are all dressed for spa... after begging, they brought the slippers up to our room. The least they could do is to give the slippers when checking in...

I booked a stay as I wanted to dine in this hotel's restaurant 'Hõlm' which is a Michelin Guide restaurant. The restaurant is 10/10 -- really really nice, hotel stayers get to enjoy a delicious breakfast there. There is an OK size little spa in the hotel with 3 different saunas, if it's not too crowded it's very good for taking some time to relax. The minibar selection was pretty good and the room was nice and very clean.

In the standard rooms there is quite a funny layout for wc/shower where there is like a small area for washing hands and storing your stuff, separated from the rest of the room with a glass wall. The wc is in a small compartment and the shower is in another small compartment next to it. Nothing to whine about, just found that layout slightly amusing. The beds & pillows were a bit uncomfortable for me though, I didn't get the best of sleep there. For those traveling by car, underground parking is available subject to pre-booking (or if there are spaces on your arrival). There were only about 10 spaces available, so do book in advance if your planning on taking your car.

The breakfast was absolutely perfect, with a great variety of options to choose from. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable. The room was very clean, which made for a relaxing and pleasant stay. The staff were friendly. I highly recommend this hotel for its cleanliness, comfort, and overall excellent service!

The only minor downside was that the room felt a bit cold, but it didn’t take away from the overall comfort of my stay. Nonetheless, everything else was excellent!

Lydia is a perfect place to stay when it Tartu. The room is cosy, spacious bathroom, very comfortable bed's! Good breakfast and nice (little) spa. I expected a little more but what was there was lovely. The START of the show was the dinner at HOLM their restaurant. The food was INCREDIBLE. Fantastic dishes, great wines and wonderful service from a well trained and pleasant staff. If you are to stay at Lydia, don't skip having a wonderful dinner there.

+ Nicely designed, clean rooms: having the toilet seperate from the shower is always a plus. Large sink seperating the two also a plus. + Soft beds: excellent beds, soft and big. Providing a goods nights rest, which is the primary function of a hotel. + Excellent breakfast: broad variety of fresh products.

- Limited (expensive) parking: though I understand that in the middel of the city, this is difficult for the hotel to fix. Options in the neighbourhood are available. We parked around 5 minutes from the hotel, paying 4 EUR per day. - I was a bit disappointed by the welness. The lockerroom is almost as big as the welness area. There is a pool of about 50m2 and a (at the time I was staying out-of-order) sauna. There are as many as 8 showers which takes up valuable space and are way to many. Two or three would have sufficed.

Breakfast - there was nothing special to choose from. SPA - small water area and 3 small saunas (4 people). The room was pleasantly large, comfortable, stylish, with a good view of the town hall-university, a large, decent TV. Location - super, in the middle of oldtown, city center. Restoran - excellent, Michelin recomendation

I was not satisfied with the choice of TV channels, which should not be a place to save money.

The spa is small but nice. Great to have a parking garage under the hotel. The breakfast was good but the coffee was terrible (from a coffe machine) – why can't a good hotel like Lydia make their own fresh coffee?! I would look forward to that next time!

Coffee was terrible no matter what kind you chose on the machine. Please, make real black coffee yourself!
