The Biw View Lodge has a beautiful location on the Bow River, and the center of Banff is just a few minutes' walk away. We had a lovely room with a balcony overlooking the river. We also appreciated the underground parking, the swimming pool, the steam bath, and the Jacuzzi. We especially want to emphasize the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. We highly recommend this hotel and would gladly return.

Unfortunately, there were several power outages during our stay due to a faulty fuse. However, the aforementioned courteous staff responded immediately and even offered us an upgrade to a suite.

Warm welcome, spacious room, super comfy bed, balcony with a nice view of the river, free parking in the centre of Banff. We enjoyed the location and being able to walk everywhere we wanted to in Banff - easy access to the Bow River trail, the legacy trail, canoe and bike hire, horse riding, free shuttle bus to the gondola and, of course, the wide selection of shops, restaurants and attractions in the town. It was also a bonus to be able to use the facilities at the sister hotel across the road and we liked the green incentive of $5 per night to spend in the Park Lodge restaurant if you opt out of room service, which worked for us during our three nights stay.

Rooms, locations, facilities, cleanliness is very nice! they also got coffee and tea at lobby~ The room is spacious and all in all the room is comfortable, the bed is big too~ Since the lodge is located on the corner at the end of the road, it's very serene and quiet. very fitting for people who do not like nightlife sounds

Supervisor and receptionist can be a bit friendlier. There was a misunderstanding and miscommunication on our check-in. We met a cleaner at our room (we booked 2 rooms) and the cleaner told us we're free to go in. But the supervisor later comes in to check the room if it was good to receive us and she found us already in the room. She was having an attitude and I really think that it should have been handled better as it is just an inspection and she really needs to communicate better with the cleaner instead of blaming us for not knowing who is the supervisor.

We stayed here one night and it was a good stop over. The beds were very comfortable and we had good facilities in the room. There's no eating facilities in this hotel but the staff were quick to explain that the restaurants in the sister hotel (next door) were available to us. We ate at the Italian restaurant and it was fabulous. Great food and great service. All the staff were very friendly. A great location not far from the main streets and next to a river walk.

The room itself was quite compact but fine for the one night we stayed. If we had stayed any longer, I would have preferred a bigger room.

The staff are friendly and super helpful. The location is perfect for exploring downtown and the bus system makes it easy to go further out. For someone who loves trains, I did not mind the hourly sounds and I wouldn't give up the view of the river and pathway. It is quiet and peaceful otherwise.

The elevator was entertaining. The doors do not always open when you get to your floor and if you wait for them to open on their own, you could end up where you started. Once you get the hang of it, there is no problem.

Wish there was AC in the room. Although we don't need it at the time of stay, cold in the mornings and room temperature the entire day (<24C). Not sure if the rooms exceeded >24C during summer -up in the mountains, i guess the facility did decide not to have one. By the way, there was a fan supplied in a room (in a shelf)- if guest decides to use it

This is situated next to the river and within close walking distance of Banff downtown. Perfect for exploring on foot. Use of Banff Lodge facilities (Nextdoor) including pool was great too. Green scheme of $5 per day voucher for not using daily housekeeping towards food. Good welcome pack, coffee machine and fridge in room. Access ice machine. Good WiFi. Helpful staff on reception.

Slightly dated interior of room but all amenities working and provided.

The hotel is located strategically. It is convenient to easily access the town, and it is also a short walk to access some trails just outside of the town. Also if you are interested in seeing life, having the bow river right behind you means that you will most likely encounter elk.

The building is quite old due to it being built a long time ago. This means no air conditioning, and the interior design can be quite outdated. As a group of three who booked a double queen bed room, we were quite cramped.

Really liked the location - close to the center of town and amenities, yet quiet. One of the rooms we booked looked out to the river and the trees. There's water both cool and hot (for tea/coffee) at the ground floor lobby, there's an elevator, every floor has a communal microwave in the lobby. The fridge in the room was very effective, actually froze our milk/coke. Bathrooms were a little tight but very manageable. Despite not having air conditioning, letting the outside air in and having a room fan kept the temperature very comfortable. Parking is in sister property Banff park lodge (right next door, still good access), quite a lot of spaces available in the underground parking (even though we were in the height of summer), seemed relatively safe. The garage has card access. There are lodge workers and lodge items stored in the garage parking areas.

Bed was on the soft side.
