Tonkin Inn is located in the north end of Jasper and was a very nice stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was okay and had a portable air conditioner which was great but a little noisy on the hot days we had in July. The beds have the comforter inside a sheet sack which we liked .

Parking is a first come first serve situation so you may not be close to your room. The carpets could do with an upgrade and a vent fan in the bathroom would help.

Swimming pool and hot tub were dirty and polluted. Even we found insects and earthworms in it. Even one of the laundry machine was not working.

My room was really clean & tidy & plenty of space to store stuff. The reception staff were great too, happy to help out any way they could to ensure the stay went well. Loved that there was a microwave at reception to use if you needed, as well as free access to washing machines! So handy when you’re travelling longer term on a budget. There’s a few cafes & restaurants within a couple of minutes for a bite or an easy 10 minute walk to the main shops, cafes & restaurants.

We always found parking, however the car park was very full (in May). The room was lovely and clean. They had a pool (but we didn't get around to using it). Free washing facilities were a great bonus.

We turned the air con on instead of opening the window (as there were cars driving by), but woke up very warm as the air con changed to heating half way through the night! Would recommend not using the air con. Small bedroom - we didn't have much room for suitcases.

Great Place to stay in Jasper! The location and parking were great. The restaurant was good, too. The room was spacious and comfortable.

The staff was super considerate, but they lacked local knowledge about Jasper National Park! Since the 2024 fire, certain parts are closed, and we made several wasted drives after checking with the front desk clerks. They were VERY nice...they just didn't know.

The front desk staff were great. We arrived a bit earlier than expected (roads were good)...they allowed us to check in as the room happened to be ready. The staff on check out were just as friendly and accommodating. We only used the outdoor hot tub (not pool or gym) but really enjoyed it. The area was clean. Our room was very warm even when we turned the thermostat down (I had seen others saying same in reviews and was somewhat prepared for the possibility). We chose not to call the front desk or maintenance...just opened the door occasionally to allow cool outside air into the room. The tv was quite big and had many channels. Our room had a kitchen- it was fine for what we needed. The beds were comfortable and lots of pillows. It was great value for the money and we would absolutely come back.

The property is definitely getting older as with all properties in Jasper. Could use a little bit of love on the little things...tighten door handles, check fridge door, check stove burners to make sure they all work... All in all, however, we were comfortable for the weekend.

Motel-style with each room entering directly from the outside, so I didn't know if it would be nice, but what a pleasant surprise at how clean and stylish the space was! A sense of humour in the little instructional signs and even a welcome sign for our pet with a dog dish and treat! Microwaves were available delivered to rooms for anyone who asked, and when we did request one, it was delivered right away. Very reasonably priced. Very clean with fresh soft towels and mini toiletries and everything worked well.

Friendly personal, clean washer/dryer. 15min walk to the center, right next to a nice restaurant and Starbucks. Good price for the region

Room was definitely on the older side, ventilation was loud, and you can hear your neighbours’ footsteps. AC seems to be retrofitted and was a small portable unit (we didn’t need it though)

It was great to have a pool and hot tubs and also a free laundry service. We had a one bedroom suite which was perfect for our family of 4 and it was great to be able to self cater. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Parking outside the room was convenient.

The decor was a bit tired.

The rooms were really large, with a kitchen, a small table for four and a couch.

The middle of the room is poorly lit, and some of the kitchen utensils (e.g., pots and pans) were unusable. Fortunately we could find what we needed by combining utensils from both our rooms.
