This hotel offers excellent value. It’s conveniently located in central Seoul (Mapo district), close to everything but away from the busiest tourist areas. Lotte City Hotel Mapo is directly connected to Gongdeok Station (공덕역), which serves multiple subway lines including Line 5, Line 6, the Gyeongui-Jungang Line, and the AREX Airport Railroad. The subway is SO easy to navigate, even for English speakers. Use Naver Map and you can get literal step-by-step directions (including rail, bus, walk) to everywhere you are going in South Korea (it even tells you the best train carriage to get on to make for easy exit!) The hotel itself is modern, with well-appointed rooms that provide everything you need for a comfortable stay. The beds were especially comfortable, making it easy to rest after long days exploring the city. I would absolutely recommend this hotel and would be very happy to stay here again.

The daily pool charge of 20,000 won per day seemed excessive. I'm not certain if this is standard in South Korea or not, but given it's just a basic pool, I'm not sure this was great value.

The hotel is in a great location—steps away from the airport bus stop and subway line in the basement of the hotel (basically). On levels B1 and B2, there is an arcade with many restaurants, cafes, and a supermarket, which makes staying here super convenient! The housekeeping does a wonderful job, and the room was always made up upon our return.

The bed is not comfortable! Also, although there is a pool onsite, hotel guests are made to pay for entrance (20,000 won for adults & 10,000 won for children) which seems quite unreasonable.

Clean hotel, great selection selection of convenience stores and restaurants near by, also right by the metro station that connects three lines and the airport train line

Really enjoyed our long-term stay here. The location is hard to beat - so convenient to get to the subway system, which has a connection in the basement of the building. Nice as well to have the grocery store in the basement, and the 7-11 in the lobby. Also highly recommend the coffee stand on the first floor. Spacious room, housekeeping was wonderful, and the staff were friendly. Comfortable bed too.

Not much. The laundry was pretty expensive (can't remember exactly, but something like 5,000 won each for the washer and dyer. The pool was also very expensive, so we never used it, and it would have been nice to have that included.

Excellent location adjoining Gongdeok station and direct trains to the airport and the rest of the city. Excellent breakfast (buffet style) which they like you to pay for the night before. Large room and very comfortable bed, and a reasonable standard of facility. Location is near busy roads, but interior is quiet. A business-style hotel with functional design and few frills, but we were very happy with our choice and value for money. Recommended!

The staff's English is a bit limited but you'll get by. Swimming caps needed for the pool.

Perfect hotel just at the exit no. 2 of Gongdeok metro station, on the line to airport and other lines. Quiet area. Perfect room equipped with tea/coffee maker, some good restaurant in 1st low floor and a good Lotte store, with a lot of good ready dishes at affordable prices. Good staff, good organization. Pretty good swimming pool at the 4th floor.

Everything ok

I usually stay around Hongdae, which is a popular shopping district, but this time I decided to try staying at Lotte City Hotel Mapo for the first time. One of the great things is that you can take a direct airport limousine bus from the airport to the front of the hotel. The fare is 17,000 KRW per person. The hotel lobby is located on the 2nd floor. My sister and I arrived at the hotel around 11 AM, and the staff kindly allowed us to check in early after we signed up for the Lotte membership program. The room itself has a somewhat dated design, but it's very spacious, which is great for friends or families traveling together who need extra room for luggage. The bathroom also feels a bit old-fashioned but is clean and well-maintained. Just a heads-up: the hotel does not provide toothbrushes or toothpaste, and the cups in the bathroom are paper. You can request daily housekeeping service, or ask for fresh towels if needed. As for the electrical outlets, the only usable one in the room is the one near the makeup mirror. So if you have multiple devices to charge, I highly recommend bringing a multi-plug adapter. On the 2nd floor, there's also a 7-Eleven convenience store. After 6 PM, there's a staff member available to assist you, but if you shop before that, you’ll need to use the self-checkout, which only accepts credit cards. The hotel is conveniently connected to Mapo subway station. Just take the elevator down to B1, exit the building, turn left, and you’ll see the entrance to the station right away. On B1, there are several shops including a nail salon and restaurants — I tried one of the restaurants and the food was delicious! If you want to go to Hongik University Street, it’s very easy you can either take the subway or a direct bus, both of which are super convenient.

The hotel is a bit on the older side, and you can definitely feel that in the design and furnishings. One thing to note is that the walls are quite thin, so you might occasionally hear noise from neighboring rooms during our stay. However, overall, it’s not a bad experience. The hotel is clean, spacious, and well-maintained, with convenient access to transportation, shops, and restaurants. If you're not too sensitive to sound and you're looking for a practical and centrally located place to stay, it’s still a solid choice.

Gongdeok station is right under the hotel which also connected to the airport railroad line. There is also an elevator around the corner on the street which goes down to the subway, this was really useful when I had to take my luggage for the airport. Room was really spacious for one person and the bed was huge! The control panel next to the bed had light and aircon controls which was convenient. Didn't use the bathtub but appreciated that it was available, good water pressure in both shower heads and water heated up fast! A lovely room to come back to at the end of a long day. This was my first overseas trip and I'd love to stay at a Lotte hotel again based on my experience here!

When I arrived, found a hair in one of the side drawers. Coin laundry was a little hard to find for me, FYI washer and dryer are each 5000W, the machines accept 1000W bills or 500W coins. I didn't have much cash on me at the time so had to get a 10,000W note changed to coins but detergent also cost 500W so I wasn't able to use the dryer :( Like other reviewers mentioned, no power/charging outlets near bed.

The airport bus arrives near the hotel. It’s a short 3-5 minute walk from the hotel. There is a basement level that has a well stocked grocery store, eateries and coffee shops, and the subway access is right there as well. You can also take the Arex. The hotel itself is very nice and spacious for two people. Bathroom was huge and had a shower and a tub. Concierge were very helpful. There was a money exchange machine and a Wow pass card machine in the lobby.

I would book this place again. Only thing to keep in mind is it’s a residential/business district so there isn’t much touristy shopping around. If that’s what you’re looking for. Everything is an easy 5-10 minute subway ride away.
