I received an upgrade to the room with a large and comfortable bed. I enjoyed the sunset on the terrace with a cocktail and some snacks. The staff was friendly, available, and helpful. The breakfast was a buffet with a large variety of options.

The room was next to a concurrent street and I could hear the people talking and walking outside. It seems as if the windows do not block much of the noise.

The hotel was in a perfect location, walking distance to essentially everything in less than 5 to 20 minutes, depending on where you were going. You had access to the metro close by so a car is not needed.

The one downfall that we had about this hotel is that it is a bit loud outside at night and if you room is facing the main road, you hear a lot of the nightlife going on.

Really nice room, my partner and I appreciated our stay at REC Barcelona. Very spacious, and well equipped: from the sound system in the ceiling (being music lovers, we really appreciated that!!), to the connected large screen, the large shower and all the amenities in the room. Also really nice view of the city on the Lounge, where we can take a nice various breakfast with a little glimpse of Arc de Triomf. The hotel also offer some activities during the week, which we didn't participate to any but is a nice way for clients to enjoy their evening. The location of this hotel is really great, we did everything on foot as we like to walk and everything was pretty accessible from there (La Rambla, Boqueria Market, the beach,... parc Guell is about ~40min and a bit less for Sagrada Familia) The hotel offer the possibility to keep your luggage if you arrive earlier or leave before your departure time, it allows you to enjoy the waiting time without any stress. The checkout is at 11am, our plane was at 3:30, we couldn't access the room anymore but we were still allowed to wait in the Lounge if we wanted. Thank you for the nice staff we have met during this stay.!

We found the check in process quite long. If possible find a way to ease this for the next clients.

This hotel was the best we’ve ever stayed at - room so clean and cool , location amazing right next to arc de triomphe , the best part of the hotel is every night there was activities on the rooftop bar (cocktail making , wine tasting , beer tasting) and they were all FREE! So every night we had a fun activity with free booze before we went on our night out - we spent hours every night in the bar chatting to the staff (Jo, Marc and another guy I cannot remember his name) and different travellers we met at the hotel , it was just the most amazing experience and I have recommended it to everyone I know. We came home one day to the hotel to find a bottle of bubbly and a slice of cake in our room with a note thanking us for coming to the cocktail class ! The views from the rooftop are amazing - just The most amazing time :)

The staff, the rooms and the facilities were great! Beautiful rooftop. The location is also wonderful in the El Born neighborhood, near the Arc de Triompf and a lot of major subway lines. You can rent a bike and ride to the beach too. The hotel does a few activities which are fun. I would definitely stay again!

My only complaint is the shower (but also on me because I didn't ask the staff) but I could never get the water quite hot enough or comfortable enough.

The location was perfect near many tourist sites and the Gothic Quarter. There were many restaurants nearby. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were satisfied with the cleanliness of the room. The bed was a very good size and comfortable. We were pleased with the shower, which had good water pressure. We liked the free Cava when we would return to the hotel at the end of the day, as well the chocolates while we waited for our taxi.

The rooms facing the street can be a bit noisy. I had earplugs which solved the issue. Rooms facing the courtyard are probably much quieter.

Very beautiful hotel in a nice neighbourhood. Lovely restaurants in the surroundings. Elsa Y fred is a must-try! You can easily use the subway/metro to get to the citycentre. Breakfast was nice. Swimmingspool is oke but very small and there's not much place for chairs. Unfortunally we didn't have the luck during our 3-day stay to have a pool at the swimmingpool.

The staff at the receptiondesk is not that friendly at all. They don't give you an explanation about the hotel, they don't help you to find restaurants etc in the surroundings, they don't give you good tips. We had to ask for a map, and that's literally all we got. When it was raining outside we had to ask for an umbrella while they were just standing there. So very beautiful hotel, would recommend when visiting Barcelona! But so disappointed in the unfriendly staff of the frontdesk.

This is our second time to stay with hotel rec and we really enjoyed it again ! The location is great we walked everywhere we wanted to go to we only Got a taxi from the airport and to the airport and that was it ! There is some gorgeous bars and tapas restaurants around the location of the hotel and the staff are absolutely lovely ! The hotel left us a lovely surprise in our room to celebrate myself and my partners birthday and it was such a nice touch . The rooms were always cleaned to a great standard and we were never without fresh towels , tissue paper it was always stocked up! We are already excited thinking about staying again !

Bed was extremely comfortable and very large! Staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Very knowledgeable and great tips and advice. The hotel is ideally located for easy access to the Gothic area and Metro/Buses etc approx 100m from the Arc du Triumf.

Unfortunately there is a relatively high proportion of rough sleepers dotted all around Barcelona [in parks, by stations, in some of the harbour areas] and a few of these are in the streets not very far from Hotel Rec area. That said, directly outside the hotel is absolutely fine, and we always felt safe walking to and from the hotel at all times of the day and evening that we ventured out.

Hotel Rec in Barcelona – absolutely amazing! Very stylish entrance, super friendly girls at the reception, and a gorgeous rooftop on the top floor. The bartender with an earring was really nice and charming. Excellent service overall. The restaurant downstairs is simply fantastic – highly recommend it to everyone! Everything was great, the only thing missing in the room were bathrobes, slippers, toothbrushes, and a few other little amenities. But overall, the hotel is top-notch – I’m thrilled, it’s just super!
