Very clean, friendly staff, beach access. Pool area was lovely with a nice poolside bar just a shame I couldn’t relax due to the iguanas!

Could not relax at the pool due to the iguanas. Was told they are harmless but they freaked me out haha! Beds weren’t very comfortable and only one pillow each. Also when checking out the property we were charged $48 for a facilities fee we weren’t aware off.

The view was fabulous

There were a lot of people smoking. While the hotel policy was no smoking in the rooms, people were smoking on the balconies, on the pool deck, basically anywhere outside. You couldn’t get away from the stink except to be in your room.

Size of the room, being on top floor (10th) ideal - fantastic views towards the sea and beach areas. Proximity to the beach a plus, pool area good as well. Unlike a previous Riu I stayed in you offered a separate food area from the dining room, for both sit in and take away, ideal for quick snacks

Size of the food collection area in the dining room - smallish and got very congested at times. Outside dining areas impacted by number of birds going guests food - certainly didn't go out there after first breakfast!!

the access to the beach was fantastic and pool was nice. all the food and beverage staff and the house keeping staff were very nice and represent the brand well. very positive.

The front desk staff were not as attentive as i would expect for the level of property, and brand. Tthe manner from anyone I dealt with on the front desk was 'disinterested'

My wife and I have stayed in Riu after the cruise we've had before returning back to the rainy winter Vancouver. It was a pleasure staying in the hotel to extend vacation experience for another day. Totally worth it! We have had a feeling similar to staying in all inclusive resort. Great breakfast, sunbeds, umbrellas, towels provided both at pool and on the beach, resort-style hotel design. Super smooth check-in and check out experience. We arrived earlier than check in time as we disembarked our cruise in Port Everglades in the morning and could get our room earlier as they have had some available. Also, loved the fact that the hotel is located in the middle of the island, not the South Miami Beach. It was quiet and pleasant. Still within walk/Uber distance from the nightlife

We paid for the buffet dinner. It was rather good for its price. Maybe, meat/fish options could have been added. Lunch should be taken elsewhere. The on-premises café has rather poor options.

It was like the 5th time we stayed here. We loved the breakfast. The hotel is of better quality than last times. Staff were nice and the beach is right there

The cleanliness could still be better. It was our honeymoon. We loved our stay, though it would have been nice if they had something as a small token of appreciation - even something small like a chocolate on the pillows or a nice card in our room, etc.

Staff were extremely friendly and attentive. From check-in to check-out, it was a very pleasant experience. Always felt very safe with security on site 24/7. The food/drinks were excellent at the Alligator bar and the hotel had the best breakfast buffet I’ve ever seen. Staff brought food/drinks to the beach so we never had to leave. Huge plus, beach chairs/umbrella were included with our stay. Rooms were clean and we had plenty of towels. We were so tired every night we didn’t notice the lack of pillows (one each). 10/10.

Elevators were always busy, had to take the stairs 7 floors a couple times. Lack of pillows.

Loved the proximity of the beach and loved the amenities available.

The staff was very unfriendly. From the check in person when I arrived to the housekeeping staff to the front desk staff. They were not all that nice and almost annoyed with us

I loved this resort, I booked for 2 rooms with ocean views and next to each other’s, one for my wife and I and the other for my parents. I want to tell everyone out there how happy my family is after our stay, I start mentioning names like Beatriz, Abimael and Bernardo in the front desk, these people are amazin, they gave us an excellent treatment, I was always looking for an excuse to go to the lobby to interact with any of them, The buffet was espectacular, breakfast included in the reservation that’s a plus and a discount of 25% & 15% for the dinner buffet was also espectacular, you don’t need to leave the resort, the rooms were super clean, the king bed confortable and the view to the ocean from the balcony was breathtaking, We will definitely repeat this hotel, and believe me I live here in the City of Miami and I have stayed in many hotels here in Miami Beach but this experience in the RIU was like no other, look here, last year we stayed at the Trump International resort in sunny Isles, and look at what I was told first thing when I got to the lobby and I talked to one of the girls : English please!
