Didn't eat breakfast at the hotel. Met our daughter instead.

Cleanliness wasn't bad, but it can always be improved, especially hallways & stairwells. We were originally assigned to a room that had a connecting door to the room next to us. We could hear every single thing they were saying and doing. Hotel staff was mostly accommodating to get us moved to a different, better room that didn't have a connecting door. Sound was much better then. Could only hear hallway sounds.

People at the desk were thoughtful in some areas but I did get a snide remark from the desk clerk because I booked with booking.com. I was given a good parking rate because I am a member even though I hadn't booked with IHG. Maybe that was an apology for being snippy with me.

No snide remarks would have been nice. Also, the housekeeper never called me back about possible lost property and two items I definitely left in the shower!!! Even though I was given a recording to leave my message with housekeeping. That's an insult. Now I will have to call IHG and file a complaint!

For many visitors the hotel television is not important. However, I spent a great deal of time in the room over my 7 day stay. This Holiday Inn has clearly opted to provide the cheapest television channel package. None of the major channels were available. At least half of the channels simply said 'no signal'. There was no television directory and the stations were misidentified on the screen itself. When I asked the front desk about this, they had no information about the situation and suggested I did not know how to operate a television. Secondly, when I checked in the person at the front desk was very rude. One of the reasons I usually stay at this Holiday inn is because of the friendliness of the staff. I am not sure what has changed since my last stay in March.

The room was quite big, with a very comfortable chair and an office chair as well. There are plenty of places to study, read, watch television and whatever else you like to do. The bed is comfortable with excellent pillows. One of the best things is that this hotel does breakfast, which is not always the case in the US. For $10 you get a very good buffet with better than average bacon, sausages, and orange juice. There's also plenty of fruit, including berries. This was a great bonus. Situation-wise, the hotel is right in downtown Evanston and very close to the Metra and Purple Line.

My room was pretty noisy. I could hear every train very clearly, so the windows weren't doing a great job. There was a slightly musty smell in the room sometimes, but it wasn't that bad.

Very clean and comfortable room with microwave and mini fridge. Great pillows. The staff was friendly and helpful. I liked that I could check in early and store my luggage after checking out. Location is great, easy walk to Northwestern University. Lots of places to eat and a Trader Joe's nearby. Solid breakfast at the hotel.

The hotel feels a bit dated. Windows have poor insulation, letting in noise from the train and cold wind. The heater/AC unit in my room was very load which made it hard to sleep.

I have stayed at this hotel several times. It’s comfortable, conveniently located, serves a full breakfast for just $10, and every member of the staff I encountered (front desk team, maid, breakfast reception and servers) were welcoming and helpful. I was also pleasantly surprised that maid service was provided daily - something I haven’t seen, even at more expensive properties recently.

Perfect position for my job, easy and convenient car park option, clean and comfortable rooms. Very quiet.

I didn't experience breakfast, so I can't assess this service. There is a vent in the bathroom that is constantly on, which I have noticed in other hotels too. While it could serve as white noise for some people, it could be bothersome to others.

The bed was very comfortable and the room was nice, with a good light, and a great view. It was possible to open the windows, which I appreciate as I like to get fresh air. The staff was very nice and helpful.

The bathroom sink was very slow, and I had to run the water for a while before it became hot enough for a shower.

It is well located to subway and a local train station about an hours travel from downtown. It was quiet apart from an amorous couple next door at 6am. Good value for money breakfast too at I believe $20 for a buffet style. It’s also fairly close to the Home Alone House

Difficult to get to in evenings as public transport finishes by 11pm.

Pillows and bedding were awesome!!! Location is superior!! Loved the view from my room. Desk staff kindly refunded one night of garage overnight parking which my daughter didn't use. I had stayed there about 15 years ago when it was a Best Western and it is 100% better now!!!!!!!!!

Small things, like the tv remote wasn't synced properly, the Kurig was finicky and the tub stopper didn't release as it should and needed to be pried up around the edges. All in all, minor things.
