The location was great, a 5 minute walk from Akihabara Train Station. Easy to roll our big suitcases down the footpaths. Reception staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. We stayed on the 7th floor in a connecting room as we had 5 adults. The two rooms were very comfortable, clean and well maintained. There was minimal noise from outside. Amenities provided were the normal shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothbrushes, comb/brush and pajamas. We arrived early and the hotel was kind enough to look after our luggage whilst we went out exploring. The check in process was very simple, as was the check out process. It was definitely a memorable stay and we will certainly visit again in the future!

Absolutely nothing! Everything exceeded our expectations!

The hotel is within short walking distance to the subway and JR trains, with a lot of eateries along the way. The convenience stores Family Mart and 7 Eleven within 50 metres are great for last minute hunger pangs and stock up, and purchase of electrical and personal effects. The air conditioning and heater are solid and the WiFi is very strong and fast. The hotel will store your luggage if you arrive in the morning so that you can spend a good day before checking in at the end of the day. Backpacks with laptops or cameras will be kept in the office for safety. You can also store your luggage after you checked out and collect in the afternoon. Coffee is free all day long and your towels and free to use pyjamas can be changed daily if you wish to. The surrounding shopping malls and many shops are more than sufficient if you do not intend to travel down to central or the shopping district. The hotel is family friendly and the showers are great. Would recommend this hotel for singles or couples or groups. The good quality mattresses will give one a good night sleep.

The coffee tastes terrible and perhaps the coffee beans can be reviewed. There should be a hotel sign board at the side wall of the hotel so that guests can see the sign clearly as they walk along the road after exiting the train stations.

For me as the first time traveler who visit Japan this hotel is one of the best options for stay, closed to convenient store, all the staff is really helpful. Great palace, great services.

Overall my experience is great. There is problem with the dry machine, I don’t know the machine is only half dry or it should be completely dry bcs there is no option on the machine to set it, and my laundry not dry even already 40 mins set.

Their coffee is excellent! We didn't include breakfast with our stay, but we still had our morning coffee in their cute cafe by the lobby. The location is very convenient and close to Akihabara, my kids (18-28) really enjoyed it since they are into the manga/anime stuff. However, the trains made it convenient to get to other parts of Tokyo and we also took the train to Tokyo Station to take a shinkansen to Kyoto.

The Tourist Hotel & Cafe in Akihabara is an amazing hotel, around 5 minutes walk from Akiba Station. It's a modern hotel with a really cozy feel but it's just out of the hustle and bustle enough to feel a bit 'private'. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the bottled water and pajamas are a nice touch. It's close enough that you can easily walk into Akihabara, and the close proximity to the Yamanote Line makes this hotel a good choice as a base before getting around Tokyo :)

The only thing I DON'T like about this hotel (and this is being incredibly picky) is the breakfast - you only get the choice of a western breakfast or traditional Japanese breakfast, and it's a pre-made breakfast. The actual food is good and the quality is good but if you're wanting a buffet style each morning, this is something to consider.

Hotel was walking distance to Akihabara Sta. Family mart and 7E, Indonesian restaurant, kebab stalls are nearby. Laundromat on 2nd floor of hotel helps a lot. Do note most washer is limited to 5kg. The cafe offers free coffee to in house guest (I think) but I did not make use of the opportunity. Receptionist helped me to book a taxi when I had to check out early morning at 6am. We booked a twin room with extra bed for 3 pax. The mattresses were on tatami platform which we enjoyed with a view on 14th floor. It was pure luck we got this room 5 months before our trip as it was previously sold out! I snapped it up once I saw there's room available! Staying in akihabara was perfect choice as it was near to ginza, ueno etc. We took cab from hotel to Keisei Ueno station cost about 1300 yen and then skyliner to Narita for departure. Hence it was worthwhile to me with 4 luggages.

My few gripes about our room? 1. Limited place to hang our clothes as it was winter season, the jackets took up space we couldn't hang other clothes that was not dried properly from dryer. 2. Please install a small wardrobe to store our clothes. 3. Housekeeping was done on 2 days of our 8 night stay. However only first day was our mineral water replenished. Our bed sheet was also not changed as we noticed the same stain on it. Toilet paper was also not changed on 2nd day of cleaning. 4. Only 1 very small bin in bathroom. 5. The bin in our room was not cleared daily. I saw other guests putting out bags of rubbish and that small bin every morning outside their doors so we did same.

Clean hotel, friendly English speaking staff and easy check in process. The room is clean will well thought out amenities like kettle. The staff are very kind and helped retain one of our bags since we were returning a week later. They have an option to weigh your baggage at front desk. If you are able to book rook with breakfast, do opt for it. It is difficult to find places in Tokyo/ Japan with warm continental breakfast in mornings. The breakfast was lovely. The all day coffee is also a great option. If you bring takeaway you can eat at their collaboration/ coffee space, as your room is too small to have a meal without getting messy. Centrally located to Akhibhara station ( 500m) and Asakusabasi station (12 min walk) There is a family mart nearby for all your basic needs,. including a good cold sandwich selection Tip : At the Family Mart, you can also courier luggage using the Takkyubin service between cities. We used it for Tokyo to Kyoto and back. Worth the ~2500 yen per medium size trolley. It's a hassle to travel with trolleys in the subway / trains. Look up online on how to avail it and fill the form. Our best investment in Japan.

The rooms are compact. So if you have more than two trolleys it is difficult to unpack! A bigger dustbin in the bathroom would be appreciated and sanitary bags would be a welcome add.

Free coffee every morning offered at our stay, you did have to pay for pastries but they weren't too expensive and tasted nice. The room itself was quite spacious and we really appreciated having space under our bed to put our luggage. Bathroom had the shower blocked off with a door which helped prevent the whole bathroom from steaming up. Staff was nice and specifically listed the days that our room would be cleaned, a small thing but nice.

Unfortunately every most places in the hotel that weren't the lobby or the rooms weren't air conditioned, probably due to those spaces being exposed to the outside. It wasn't that big of a deal since usually we spent minimal time in those areas and were just trying to get to our room, but it does make any trek back to the room just that little bit extra hot with the summer weather.

Being a first timer in Tokyo travelling with my son who just turned 18, this hotel was a perfect choice. As it was less than 10 mins walk to Akihabara train station, and located in a more quiet part of the area. It was a nice break from all the hype of the “Electric Town”. Hotel is near all the Konbini’s (7/11, Family mart and Lawson) and small yet welcoming local restaurants and cafes. During our check in which was after midnight, the front desk staff named Sho was obliging and informative which I found comforting after the long weary flight. As we entered our room, there was a birthday note and a gift on the table for my son which was a lovely welcoming gesture. Our room with twin beds was spacious in comparison to most Tokyo hotels. Luggage compartments under the beds were maximised. Aside from the standard amenities, the hotel also provided pyjamas, which is a real novelty as most countries we have travelled to do not offer such. Best to book your breakfast ahead of time as walk-in is not allowed. For coffee lovers the 24 hour coffee service is complimentary !!

Towel rail above the toilet was something new to me so took a bit of getting used to. Having stayed a week, we had to use the hotel coin operated laundry with the laundry detergent already being included, so this was another bonus. Though the dryer had a lint build up which could have been cleaned perhaps once a day.

The hotel is a modern blend of Japanese and Western styles with beds on raised tatami floors. The bathrooms are excellent and the finish of the rooms is very clean. I had a problem with a large piece of luggage that did not arrive with us as planned on our ANA flight. Despite asking for it to be held at the airport for a couple of days in left luggage, ANA delivered it to the hotel, creating the problem of how to get it back to Haneda for our onward flight. The hotel staff really helped trying to find a way to get the luggage to the airport and when that proved impossible, getting it shipped to our hotel in Miyazaki. Mr Kohara especially tried his best to find a solution, but they were all excellent. Would definitely stay here again.
